it's like the scout was triggered but in stand-by, waiting for the door to be opened again
the blue light flashed the second we opened the door again, like 30 seconds after triggering the scout the first time
It does happen a bit. Generally its because the whip tentacle is going back. You cut off the edge of it.. So like...
[scout] --------tentacle----------- {door} x------ <-- Its at the x, but the x is the trigger that didn't make it past the door.
When you reopened it the process could continue to trigger.
But if the x is on your side of the door it won't because door interrupts tentacle.

Do the weapons have different sound triggering area ? I felt like the sniper triggered monsters very far away while a regular smg only triggered monsters kinda "close" but maybe I'm wrong

the best is when there's say, a line of 5 sleepers across the room. You smash one closest to you, the three in the middle don't give a shit and the one by the far wall glows red and gets pissed.

Sniper has a longer range for triggering.
Okay, so the way sleepers work is...
There are four stages
1.Asleep
2.glowing/clicking
3.pulsing
4.awake.
If you catch one on the uptick from 1-anywhere + they might trigger when you hit one far away.
If you catch it on the down tick and have enough room you shouldn't trigger them.
They have a very hard time going to 3-1 back to triggered.

You want to hit them from as far away from the others as you can.

You are going to trigger the middle one more likely.
Best thing to do is flashlight flick them all.

Would anyone be able to give some advice on how to kill some of the bigger enemies. We're playing with 2 people and need some help. (i also dont know the names of these guys, it is not a scout or sleeper) thanks ๐
control the field, their attacks are much longer range than the smaller sleepers. if you can get them around the corner, you can use a shotgun to devastating effectiveness
you can c-foam them in place as well and melee them to death
Big males: 3 fully charged hits in the back to one shot them
Big females have more HP and you'll have to do the above and hit again
I believe that the females are shooters and the males are strikers?
thanks guys, another question is best setups for a security zone when opening doors, we just had one that went through like 3 different phases and died trying to stand in the circles
They alway come from the open doors leading to the room the security door is in
C-Foam the door and place your sentry outside
They always take ladders over stairs

1. Hit it with a C-Foam grenade and then hit it with melee weapon fully charged in the head.
2. Place a mine and let him go into it.
3. Use a Sniper Rifle to headshot him (IT WILL ALERT NEARBY ENEMIES)
4. NOT RECOMMENDED : Just attack him and let him scream >..>

mines are likely not going to be useful for silent scout kills going forward. pretty it was said it going to be addressed
if you use a mine to silent kill a scout, that room is conceptually still active and the alternate timeline version of you has failed the mission ๐

i.e. it's the gun that alerts, not the bullet
One sniper round to the brain will take a scout out no problem

you'll need to experiment a bit, but if they're glowing, up to 20 yards sometimes

something like 20 seconds from deploying a turret until it physically appeared

key is setup for alarm doors, or fallback points if you wake them

Close the two small ones.
Have the turrets shooting @ the door.
The biofoam guy can just keep foaming the door when the foam goes away.
Then everyone scoots out the two tiny doors and kites them around.

Yeah they may change it, for now it's like this so you can't stack everything it you have to make decisions ^^
@craggy pier i would love to see you doing security scans, and killing all the mobs in D, if you think this game is possible to solo, at least A is possible that's the only one, there is no way in hell you can solo certain levels, unless you hack or use any kind of glitch.

The thing is we sometimes kill it in 4 but then we hit another fully charged 4 and it doesn't die
i think it heavily varies and depends on where people hit, if everyone hits the same spot its mostly likely not gonna work but if 3 people aim at 3 different spots and rip off 3 chunks of it it apparently dies

From what I noticed is that there is a fixed amount of mobs in every room but if a screamer gets triggered then more spawn at your flanks

One thing i've been wondering that people say and don't say at all. Like killing enemies near other enemies while glowing. They say not to kill when an enemy near the one you are trying to kill is glowing or else it'll get triggered.

Well damn, glad i know that. One time though, there was a crawler across a big room and i killed a sleeper on the floor of a catwalk like 20 meters away and it still triggered the ones on the stairs
sometimes you miss, sometimes i think dead body parts fly off and wake someone else, sometimes i think some sleepers "sleep light" and wake up... remember that while crouched, if you stand up... that makes a noise thst can wake them

The DMR is too weak to kill a scout, an alternative is a sniper headshot, a charged hammer (with or without c-foam depending on his location) or full load of the c-shotgun. @hallow cairn

hi guys, would like to ask about the hearing range of 1 sleeper to another, yesterday in one of my games, one of the sleeper was quite far away (not sure how to describe the range), upon killing one of the sleepers that was quite far away, it triggered the other one. where as another monster which was closer to each other upon killing doesn't get triggered. are there any factors that can lead to this?

Hey I've been having some problems fully understanding how enemies aggro. I understand the bit with making sounds by walking/shooting and walking or crawling while their hearts are beating. But too many times they'll aggro from me or someone killing a sleeper, and that's where I don't quite get the rules

They react if they are lit up and in line of sight when you kill another sleeper. If they are sleeping and you kill one, it won't affect them.

Red glowsticks. They have red colour compared to green ones. That's for sure.
My friend is saying red glowsticks are better when using them in fog because they aren't that flashy. But it is just his personal opinion.

Anyone else feel like there is a huge difference in power between the sentries? The shotgun sentry seems to down sleepers with each round of buckshot, but the burst sentry takes multiple tries at the same range? Even outside of shotgun range, I feel like the burst sentry is too inaccurate

As a far I know the 10 PDECs are not needed to open Z100 (you need the keycard which is in 98/99), but you need the PDECs to be able to exit

Hey, noob here. I've been able to kinda figure out how to do things from solo test runs. The only problem i run into is the alarm phases. Does anyone have suggestions of advice for how to git gud at gunplay, or at least make it past a security door in 1 piece?

if your running a shotgun, hipfire usually does you well
if not, just wait for them to slow down or stop

a good practice weapon and good all rounder is the Pistol
i never dont use it because its a 2 shot headshot against Strikers, 3 shot headshot against Shooters, and its accurate and easily controllable
its also very good at range
i use that plus the Sniper

try and stealth as much as possible
pick up C-Foam and Fog Repellers when possible
ammo, tool, and health kits are a must
dont do Zone 19, its not needed
have a Bio Tracker, and 3 shotgun sentries
so i just have to keep doing what i have been doing with more stealth

as in do they spawn double the monsters if 2 are triggered at the same time
there usually arent 2 in the same room or area
so no, they cant trigger at once
but if they were able to, then yes, i spose it would stack
