me and my squad seem to run into many issues trying to get through this game. we know enemies can be triggered with movement, flashlight, and sounds, but we can all be still and no flashlight and suddenly the room gets alerted anyway? is there something we are missing about the mechanics? tia

How much will early access cost? Same with how much will it cost when it comes fully out (estimates if possible)? Also will there be any settings to scale difficulty to be able to play alone? My friends and I have played the game and itโs amazing. But not all of us have the money to buy it anytime soon. So I want to know if there will be a way to play it alone without almost instant death XD

Yeah, currently it isn't very solo friendly
There are no plans for scaling atm, if you go in solo you will be playing 4-man difficulty still

They hear peoples concerns with Matchmaking, but a lot needs to be considered such as random trolls etc in a game like this

@stoic briar Prices will be appropriately adjusted for each region, so whatever $35 USD is in your local currency is how much the game will cost. Steam handles this aspect for the team
any info on how many levels are there gonna be in EA?
It will vary depending on the rundown. As per the Rundown video, there could be 3 levels for 3 weeks, but the next one will have 5 levels that lasts a month or 2 but are much harder
so A1 B1 etc zones will be different every couple of weeks (roughly speaking)?

Regarding matchmaking..I think Destiny 2 had a good player made system. We would mostly use a generic Reddit gorup Discord to jump to voice...do PvP/Raids, then leave that single Discord. had LFG too, kinda like how GTFO channels are. Simply sit in LFG to get some players then find an open voice channel.

They should allow people to make public servers so you donโt have to friend people to join them. Also quick question. The ambassador keys. After the release of the early access, the copy of the game becomes useless, right? Also for people who helped play test the game will they get a further % discount on the game for helping with over all testing?
After early access the beta game won't be needed. No discounts offered for ambassadors or play testers as anyone can beta test

@hasty mauve Was guided here to ask for questions, that i've been asking in gfto-chat, but i was wondering about A1 in BETA. Was it intentional that you developers decided to make more or enough personal IDs to not even scout out the entire map? Because my squad completed A1 without even using the keycard and opening the keycard security doors. I just thought it was pretty cool that we didn't even need to scout the entire map, gave this sandbox'y kind of "Complete-the-mission-your-own-way" feeling :)
I think you should keep some missions exactly like that, giving players multiple solutions/options to finish the mission, like for instance: if the mission requires you to maybe download some files from some "special terminals" (sort of like reactor terminal in B1), there could be multiple of those special terminals, allowing people to go either to terminal A or terminal B or terminal C, depending on what players deem more dangerous because some certain rooms maybe spawned dangerous amount of enemies, scouts, giants etc. so they could instead opt for another way and see how that goes.

@hasty mauve That's a good job then :) I have to say that going past security door with keycard was just so bad for our squad, fighting and stealthing through multiple fog rooms... That we just decided to rather open multiple alarm doors instead of fighting in the fog as somehow the level wasn't exactly generous with Fog Repellers for us lol (maybe just bad RNG)

Shat myself, went round a corner and there's this 6ft 3 beast with long arms.
For mission a1 with Id tags, did any one find a way to see how many Ids were in one path with out qureying one id at a time? I know you can use LIST ID to get all id and qurey them individually to see the zone.
Any multi zone searches? Like 2 at a time and not just one or all zones at a time?

i have a question on the terminal
so when you do list it gives you a really big list of items
is there a way to filter it?
i tried doing grep like you would in a unix system
but that just displays no entries
basically the best commands for terminal is:
LIST AMMO ZONE_NUMBER
LIST MEDI ZONE_NUMBER
LIST TOOL ZONE_NUMBER
Example: LIST AMMO ZONE_63
it'll list approximately how many of a certain resource is in a specific zone
and if you're in the same zone you type PING AMMOPACK_###
and you'll get the exact area its located in
PING JELLO_PUDDIN_443

Probably won't have a fully silenced weapon, there needs to be some type of trade off. Can't have people taking out an enemy and not waking up one 2 inches away. That would remove an aspect of difficulty from the game
like cant it be like a knife that u can shoot out but u only have 2 and if u shoot out both u wont have a melee till u refill ur ammo with it and u only get 1 knife each refill or like a c-foam grenade that u can throw but wont make noise and u have limited usages on it that can kill the enemy silently
but also like if u miss the enemy and hit the wall u have a chance to wake them up with the noise if its that knife or if u hit them on the body wont actually kill them like u gotta actually headshot them
and ofc u cant oneshot special enemies with it
or if u miss the thing that ur throwing u can also wake them up if they are beeping or whatever it was xD

If you look at the roadmap of GTFO you would know, but at full release of game in the future they would have voice chat and quick match option
query tells you room
ping tells you sub room but you can only ping if you are in the same zone as the item

So if you have lik 50 items in list you have to query each one and notes all positons ? Or is there a mechanic to pin it on screen ?
you can draw on the map to show certain locations but it wont show you were it is automatically.

You can put a marker on moving targets, however you can still see the ones that are not moving, you just can't mark them - that's why it's important for the person with the bioscanner to communicate

I'm wondering if there will be some content updates after the EA launch, I've checked the roadmap and I haven't find informations about it. I think the game is really cool, amaizing ambiant but I'm afraid to be bored when we'll master the technics after a few hours of play.

@stiff hazel no there won't be a y support editions at launch. They won't do any DLC either. If they add support the dev packs it'd be for cosmetics, further down the line.
@charred mountain new features will be frequently added during the early access and development. Rundowns are their concept for changing the expeditions available which can be as short as a week or as long as 2 months. There isn't any set time period for the first rundown of 5 expeditions

I have, in fact seen the rundowns concept. But was worried about the sneaking mecanisms, even if the rooms are changing often via the rundowns concept, will there be some new ennemies adding some new mecanics etc... I wish I could see their ideas on a roadmap to see where they want to bring the game in the future.
Anyway, I really enjoyed the game already during the beta.

@craggy pier Steam unfortunately does not allow bundle deals anymore so we aren't sure what to expect in terms of bundles. The Dev's will let us know soon if that is going to change though

@polar chasm Allow me to clarify; the devs have closed down the beta to implement the bug fixes found in it and continue working on it. The game will be released on december 9th in a state of early access, where they will continue working on it until it is fully released. Early access will cost 35$, and when the game leaves early access, any owners of the early access version will not be forced to pay any additional costs to play gtfo, as the early access version of the game will simply be updated to the full release version. The benifets of buying the game in early access are, a cheaper price then the 1.0 version, helping the devs with community feedback and playing it before the full release.

There will obviously be rewards for doing stuff however that isn't implemented just yet (gear progression will come later) so we'll find out more later on how that will all work.

imo HELL TO THE NO on pvp. Not every game needs pvp and this game certainly needs to focus on what works for it ie: survival horror coop. We have plenty of other games that offer us a pvp outlet so let each game play to itโs strengths.

Are the Devs aware of the super jittery enemy movement in the Beta? I hope they do/its not a "feature", cus it sure as hell makes aiming impossible sometimes when enemies just warp out of your bullets path. Also, Bullet Sponges on some enemies, you never know when you killed an enemy for sure since there seems to be delay between bullet hits and enemy taking damage

i think the run down in itself may be a sort of progression. ie you can proceed to the deeper more difficult level until you clear the first one

But in the beta, they were all large futuristic weapons, that honestly did not look too appealing and was weird to watch as you handled them? ๐ (the beta weapons were also really big.. which was slightly annoying).

Also, I noticed that weapons have a percentage next to them on the hud. Is that weapon durability or ammo? And if it is weapon dur does that carry over between missions?
it's ammo. the devs don't like dealing with weapon durability. it's not fun to have something break on you, RNG, etc.

They can vary depending difficulty. Some could be 30-45 min with practice, others could be longer like a few hours if you aint doing so hot.

Did it happen to anyone else during the beta that even with a fully charged swing to the head of a sleeper he would still be alive and ofc attacking as well(the head was gone)?it happened to all of my friends, are we doing something wrong?

a headshot is actually the most reliable way to get a kill, other parts of the body not so much. it's possible it' wasn't a fully charged melee, but most of the way which could take the head out but not the entire enemy.
I've run into some issues with my group in the beta, wondering if its just beta things happening or a gamemechanic we overlooked. Sometimes when we were sneaking around killing enemys with meele the whole room just woke up. No scout, no failed meele and noone bumped into enemies either.We checked for heartbeats too. It sometimes happend when we just killed an enemy, sometimes noone moved at all. Any ideas ?
There are mechanics around proximity to enemies, and triggers they have for light/sound sensitivity
@potent ruin I rna into that problem in the alpha aswell the possible reasons could be noise queues made by them dying or even their heatbeat being activated

Thanks for the quick answers. @lilac fulcrum we thought about something like that too, but it was just too inconsistent. For some reason I was able to kill an enemy right next to another one without it waking up and sometimes an enemy around the corner out of heartbeat range woke up. Kinda confusing
what I'd recommend is record video and send it to us. I don't want to give away too much info on how the mechanic works, but from everything I've been seeing, it's working as intended.
During pre-alpha testing it was much less forgiving and more inconsistent and the devs improved it

That's tough to answer as the game can have difficulty adjusted constantly. We've seen A, B, and C levels in The Complex, but I imagine there are many floors below that. Who knows how deep it could go in the future.

@pseudo urchin not as as battle royal but you would've squad VS Dungen Master (or Warden Drone). Squad has to do objective, that is declared by DM Entity, which also set ups traps and enemies. People could join game to watch Squad, (just their ego view) without being able to scout.

The game does NOT scale for less than 4 players, so you could go in solo but probably won't have a good time. Definitely recommend using our LFG features like #lfg-north-america and similar which will open up closer to EA launch.

the game is hard ecause you have to communicate well with your team, there is lots of stealth and strategie to take
and there are others reasons to say the game is hard

What is the most effective strat for c-foam? I feel like a full charge never shoots enough foam to so anything effective. I'm probably using it wrong.

Use sea foam grenades on closed doors. It'll make them harder to break. Use the gun on choke points where monsters are forced to run through it and freeze up.

Only thing I noticed so far is that when interacting with a Console, I could not see any input happening once the screen filled up.
FoV set at 55 (stock) might need to dial that up a bit, to resolve it. Still early game...

That is correct. The devs don't have an ETA for match making because they want to do it right. The gameplay of GTFO is challenging and demanding, and they don't want a poor experience of trolls, etc who could come in and friendly fire kill you, ruin your game, etc. They don't want to say "it'll be out in x time period" and then go past that because what they thought didn't work out. It is very high on their priority list though. As soon as we have something solid to say about MM it'll be shared out.

A buddy of mine and I bought the game today knowing full-well that it's a 4-player game so if it's not possible we will figure something out. Just wondering because we played for about 2 hours by ourselves in a 2-person match and had a blast even though we couldn't get past the first security door lol
its possible but the difficulty wont decrease cause its meant to be a4 player game

Yes, but you'll get to 100% and it won't go, you need to go stand in the other circles briefly.

We cleared 8 and then died when it spawned another 4 after that. The fact that we only had 3 players was definitely making life harder on those sections!
im not sure if this is a problem on my end or not but when i try downloading the game it downloads at 0 bytes/s download speed and around 15 bytes/s disk usage. this doesnt happen when updating or downloading any other games. if anyone has the answer to my issue please let me know

How much content is in the early access version that was not demoed in the beta and alpha? I was able to beat all missions in both, and I am wondering if more content awaits me in early access. I know new expeditions have been made, but is there anything else in terms of environment or enemies?

Any chance we can get a peek into what the devs are prioritizing? The roadmap is an excellent list of features, but it would be cool to know which ones to get excited for and which will take more time. For me, any kind of rewards/progression system is the most exciting!
Their priority list is constantly adjusting so it's be tough to keep track of that without being misleading
They work on more then one thing at once. So even they don't know what will be there first. Also they could change priorities when they see one feature is far developed

This has probably been answered but I am new here, just wondering is match-making a feature that the devs are only considering adding or is there a development block making it rather difficult to do so?
They are working on implementing it as it is high priority right now - however there may be some issues they have we are unaware of
I imagine the generic - how to match people/how to deal with and prevent trolls/lobby hoppers etc come to mind

@vocal flume Equip it, look at the ground in front of you. A little arrow and a prompt on your screen telling you to press the interact key, default e, will appear. Hold e to deploy it.

the game in terms of download size is pretty small, why is that? the way things are generated or the amount of assets ?
they have a certain way of building levels. They don't need a ton of unneccassary stuff.
So they can keep the file really small.
The file unpacks once you have downloaded it @heady rock (if you're referring to the initial 3.3 download)

Well... sometime, maybe if you dont land 100%, their torso still can live and attack.
I already reported the bug anyways. Even with 100% hits fully stealth it will either A. live and get hit again or B. insta aggro the room
No, it only pulls aggro if sleepers next to him glow
