I use Ableton for the "complete" tracks which sound in the DAW as they will in the game, but I use Reaper for the music that has more complex implementation in the game.

Regarding the music, I make some music in Ableton Live, and some in Reaper. They are two different, independent DAWs. All music is, however, put into AudioKinetic Wwise to be implemented in the game. Wwise is a piece of software that you use to set up rules and logic for how sound effects and music behaves in the game.

I mean... not having a suppressor makes no sense, unless they don't actually know what they're up against. However, having seen the game awards video, I'd say they very much know some of what they're up against, I mean heck, they have the sense to bring melee weapons with them (Or find and use them I dunno)
On weapon personalization, definitely love to see something along those lines I mean, come on. Looking at some of the gameplay footage, a long rifle would work, quite well in a few instances. I'll be honest mid-range with a CQB secondary seems like the best combination, however I'm sure there are crawls where long distance will be superior...
well with a supresser in a 70% stealth game is that the guns would be overpowered against them
So Giving them limited supression or halfway thru the game u gain access to making them and them having shit all durability like 1/2 mags of shooting or something

movie suppressors decrease the noise dramatically. Real suppressors mostly hide the muzzle flash and reduce noise by about 15% (which makes the gun still really loud)
They're used for a reason. Hiding muzzle flash in real warfare is really important.
Doesn't matter too much against things that don't use eyes to see though.

Well, it does, but not so much as movies and some other video games would have you believe.
Again, it'll reduce the noise enough to not wake up the whole building, but 2-3 rooms over is pretty reasonable to be woken up.

so all and a bit xtra within the next few rooms
Using a silencer in tandem with subsonic ammunition reduces noise to much, much less. If there's a subsonic ammunition option in the game, I will be very impressed.

It's a tough balance. We don't want the players to feel like they're this special ops group with state-of-the-art tech to beat the monsters. In fact, we want players to see weapons as a last resort, so GTFO isn't really a game for gun fetishists. That's not to say we won't let you mix and match components and collect the commodities and parts needed to craft your own weapon - there's really a powerful modular weapon system in there, but I can't say for sure there will be any of that super fancy stuff. We'll see.

Any one know if GTFO will have a high mission difficulty/failure rate regardless of skills, equipment, or level? I ask this because I love games that remain hard and always have a chance of failure no matter how good you are. I quickly get board of games that make you a God at Max level causing your mission success rate to be 98%. For example, I stopped playing otwd not because it was bad, but its because I never fail a mission once I got to Max level.

The ambition with GTFO is to not boost the player character's abilities to a superhuman level, but only expand upon the set of tools (and remember you can only carry one tool at a time) and then nudge their stats ever so slightly. In other words, GTFO it very skill based.
You won't become a one-man-army that doesn't have to cooperate/communicate/coordinate with your teammates.

Oriented and brutally honest question incoming and I probably know the answer already (no one in a PR team would answer the latter anyway), but will the GTFO beta (which hopefully will arrive soon) actually serve its purpose and possibly lead to a delay of the release if quality (bugs, lacking features and QoL, production value in animations, etc.) doesn't meet the players' or your expectations, or will it be a ""beta"" like 90% of the games nowadays which in fact only is early access and where player feedback doesn't matter at the time of final release?

Okay, so playing the Anthem demo this morning brings up a huge concern. GTFO will load an entire expedition’s mission area into memory to minimize load screens, right? Anthem has 30+ second load screens literally every hundred meters or so to load the next area. Really breaks immersion.
There aren't even loading screens in GTFO when loading into the expedition lol
I think the way they do it is load the expedition into chunks, but they've said it loads in between each "checkpoint" or APEX door

I dont have a problem with loading screens my main corcern its always optimization
I’m fine with loading times before starting a mission, or even waiting for a door to open. It’s really annoying though, when you’re flying to catch up with your team and while you are flying, the environmental transition requires an actual load screen, then when you finally come back to the game world, your character is just standing there picking his nose or whatever.

Even in super long expeditions (if we get them in the future) loading would be done in checkpoints not mid mission
Yeah, I didn’t think so... GTFO’s environment also isn’t going to be as highly detailed as Anthem’s (which is honestly the crux of the problem).
I frankly have no idea how Unity handles levels,as in meshes or solids, sadly my PC isnt able to run the engine to test things out
and given how modified the engine it is for GTFO i can say that they are the only ones who knows whats up
Destiny 2’s regional transitions sometimes have a momentary pause, but at least you remain in the game world and the loading pauses are generally 5 seconds or less. And you don’t lose velocity when you do start moving again.
I dont even know if Unity handles LoD naturally within the engine

IN regards to Roogni's hardcore mode. much as I like the general idea of that... I don't think its entirely feasible.
That said it shouldn't be thrown entirely out. I've played The Hunt: Showdown as well, didn't like it very much though because of that particular style of play.
Still Its a option For Truely hardcore players
You cant really set up the 'true hardcore' level while game is not even out yet.
Ik but still there is always a way a game can be harder Besides ones like getting over it
For instance Getting downed means Death or permenent loss of something for the mission(or even harder for the rest of the campain Unless you Get a proper med kit and not a medbag to Fix it) Enemys do more dmg or have more HP/Less light sources/Different enemy patterns or alertivness to sound or such/ Harder enemys more common And theres a bunch more but theres alot to read already But just things to make the game harder if those players choose to

Grinding and Extreme hardcore difficulty lvling system is very hard to balancing and causes possible failure in game design. (Ex :Borderlands 2 and such) i understand what u expect as in like 'harder enemy' or 'more limitation bump' but the game difficulty can be difficult enough such as simple extra adition.

BETA is usually the last phase before releasing a game. It doesn't happen to all games tho, I'm sure GTFO is different in this case. If the BETA releases weeks early, they got time to fix minor bugs.
Well most of the games nowadays have some kind of servers. The beta is used for stress testing. They have to release the beta some time ahead of the release date. Most of the peer to peer or Singleplayer Games dont need that. Their betas are most of the time just few weeks before release for that minor bug fixing.
Peer to peer games don't need servers, I mean PD2 uses Steam.
Players host their games, and others join via Steam.
There is something in between, I'm not sure.
