so around a week ago i tried to loadup the game and had immensely slow lag im not sure if anyone remembers. well i downloaded another game i used to play - killingfloor 2 it has kinda the same type of game with lobbies and matches and monsters in that aspect. and... it was also lagging. the only games that dont lag too much are 2D games. So I was wondering if anyone with a computer background could tell me whats so wrong with my computer ?
I have steam on my D drive. if i try to download a game on my C drive it claims that it needs to be an empty file if I make an empty file it says it needs to be written? so im guessing whatever drive the games download on need to be on the same drive that the steam engine is on. So i cleared some space on my C drive. Do you think I would need to redownload steam on my C drive so that the games will be on the C so that they work properly? or should it run fine on the D drive and I'm overlooking something

Hello, does anyone know why i keep crashing right after launching the game. doesn't matter if i click the "start game" button or if i don't. It just freezes and says it's "not responding". I have verified my game, reinstalled 2x and still get the same problem. I was able to play yesterday with no problems, until around 6pm EST last night when i tried to play with friends. We also tried to skip that first "start game" part by having them invite me and the game putting me straight into a lobby but even then it still froze and didn't respond.

I’ve been having the very same issue as Demonic, except I never make it to the loading screen, it just never launches. The window will open, but its always blank. I waited, and still nothing happened. I tried your fix by copying and pasting it into file explorer and it couldn’t seem to find the files you’re referring to.

it's likely some ISP or level 3 routing issue. With more people working from home and watching moves and playing games it's putting additional strain on the networks, unfortunately. you can try contacting steam support as well

@proper grove okay. I can only explain my player group. Person A/B/C/D. A and B have Telekom and the Problems and C & D Unity Media and no problems. Person A & B try VPN or Hotspot from mobile phone and it works immediatly. Thats my story of my group.

That would mean a VPN would bypass any speed limit the ISP set for your connection (let's say you have a 30mbit symmetrical connection, now with a VPN you would bypass this 30mbit limit?). I do not think a VPN will bypass an ISPs restriction. What it does though is using an alternate route, choosen by your VPN and not your ISP

@sage perch I don't know if you'll be able to play GTFO with that kind of a computer, but in case you encounter some big framerate issues, know that you can use GeForce Now by NVidia to play your games.
This is a cloud gaming software that allows you to stream a game through internet, if you have a good internet of course.
You can use it for free (but you'll be limited to 1 hour game sessions, after that you have to log-in again), or you can pay 5$ a month to have unlimited access.
The free access works well, even with GTFO. You just have to log-in again after 1 hour and rejoin the game you were in (as long as you're not the host of course)

Oh don't be sorry! It is a bug I have personally not seen before, so I can only suggest sending in a bug report so the developers can look into it. Can you hack normally otherwise or you cannot hack at all?

Steps for reproduce generally means what steps you need to do to trigger the bug. Since you have the bug with deffault, you should type that you don't need to make any steps, you just happen to have the bug no matter what
unless there are steps, in that case you should mention what did you do that caused the bug to show up
Be as descriptive as possible with things so that the developers have an easier time trying to find out what caused the issue

@mighty cipher Not a bug. It's because a lot using steam at the same time and their servers are on a VERY high workload. Everyone is at home playing games x3
And some regions got restrictions.
That's why a VPN CAN help

Same Problem here,
- Resinstalled it twice,
- restarted Steam aswell as PC 5 Times,
- Portforwarding done,
- Firewall deactivated,
Nothing helps, this appears on EVERY game start, and only some times (2/20 tries) it retries and starts correctly...
Im about to refund such broken game when it doesnt get better, sad because i loved the gameplay...
It has not entirely something to do with the update, as this screen appeared on 100%$ of all gamestarts even when rundwon#1 was there

GTFO uses Steam for network connectivity and there is connection issue with that process. Please try the following (one at a time):
Restarting Steam
Try restarting your Modem, Router, and your PC.
Try an ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew on your computer.

i dont need any support just reporting a bug i found today.I got a keycard yellow_xxx and the door needed a keycard yellow_yyy and when we were pinging the keycard it kept showing up in the empty box where i found the yellow_xxx one.The keycard fit in the door nevertheless though in the end so all is fine.
