how can i make the character section collaspable and not displaying all at once?

I recommend only setting a maximum depth of two levels for sidebar menus. This is because MediaWiki doesn't parse third-gen navlinks (links like Es or Jackalope in your example) as children of second-gen navlinks (links like Project Characters) proper. (Pictured in my SS)

Besides that, Project Characters being a link that you click to collapse/un-collapse child menus is not advisable for UI/UX
