How would I generate a sitemap and put it into Google Search Console?

I'm very new to all this SEO stuff, so I would appreciate it if anyone could help me. I have already done some research and know I need to run something called generateSitemap.php but I have no idea how I would do that.

so, go to the sitemap tab in search console and you put "sitemap.xml" right there and click send
