Miraheze has dormancy policy according to which inactive (no edits and activity) for 60 days wikis gets closed, and if in 180 or something days after that admins didn't opened it, it gets deleted
I'm confident that I've access the wiki in the past 180 days.
are you sure url is correct?
Yes.
might need to ping stewards here or leave message in steward noticeboard on Meta wiki then
ye
Alright. Thank you.
what's url tho?
If your data is important, you should not be relying on us for backups
You weren't the backup.
I know that
You were a place where I could story it in a presentable format.
But if your content goes missing, you should have your own redundancy plans
So you guys delete my wiki for no apparent reason without as much as a warning and then blame me for that?
You would have had numerous warnings and a huge banner on your wiki
I have received 0 warnings.
It's also clear as day in the policy you agreed too
Point me to the clause that says you can just delete my wiki without issuing any sort of notice.
I've accessed the wiki in the past 180 days.
"Miraheze may modify, restrict, or prohibit your access to Miraheze services and Wikis at any time under Miraheze's sole discretion. "
Under our ToU
there has to be at least an email about closing
There is
There was no email.
don't steer it up, maybe some data base hickup occurred
If there's a public wiki, backups are made available and stored on archive.org
is it me, or wikidiscover is messed up w/ alphabetical order?
But emails are sent where accounts have one linked for dormancy issues
We don't keep files though
@lapis vault it was deleted on the 15/06 due to it having no cw_wikis entry
Which likely means it was inaccessible long before then
I have no idea what "cw_wikis" is.
I did not get an email nor a notification about the wiki's deletion.
Our database that holds a list of wikis
I doubt there is a backup
Because your wiki would have already been broken then
But it's been offline over 3 months
how a wiki gets the entry? upon creation?
I did not break it. The last time I accessed it was around the start of summer which is less than the 180 days stated in your policy.
No idea why it was in a broken state
have you edited it in that time?
But it was and it was deleted as it was completely inaccessible which would indicate a failed deletion at some point earlier
@lucid fulcrum is the expert on backups
But I am not hopeful
you have access to db's rn?
I don't have access to them no
There is a rule for data though, unless you have 3 copies at 2 different sites. You do not own your data. You are leasing it from fate.
I do have the data—most of it at least—but not in a presentable, easy to read state as that is why I even bothered with Miraheze.
Finding a new platform and rebuilding it all will take a while but that's what I get for relying on a "not-for-profit" project, I guess.
let's wait what Reception will say, he's still system administrator
@lapis vault I'm sorry but us being a non profit means we can't just keep inactive wikis online forever. If your wiki was deleted recently there will almost certainly be a backup
In addition, there would've been at least 6 months to avoid your wiki from being deleted, it's not like it was deleted without warning and a significant waiting period
@lapis vault I have found a backup for your wiki
Also I note you said you accessed the wiki not edited it in the last 180 days, so that would explain deletion
Exemptions are possible as explained in the Dormancy Policy
