What the seekers are exactly?

I think the cutscenes essentially state that Seekers are manifestations of Madeline's psyche that are created by the temple which amplifies the Mountain's powers to manifest a person's psychology into physical entites e.g., Badeline and Theo's temple eyes. Specifically the Badeline cutscenes during the Unraveling chapter and the Search cutscene where Madeline talks to the mirror.

Well, since Madeline begins to be able to dash at the end of Prologue, presumably this is when the Mountain starts affecting her. So we would probably expect the statues to manifest when Madeline first arrived. Sorry I didn't address this earlier.
