They’re never referred to other than as "Part of You" but I think literally everyone just accepts that their name is "Badeline" (especially since that’s how they’re referred to in the code if I’m not mistaken) :p

Based on Granny's dialogue, the mountain's powers affect Madeline and Badeline abilities (e.g., dashing only refreshing after collecting a dash crystal). Particularly, when they're close to the core of the mountain. It's not a very satisfying explanation, but the core's power probably makes it harder for Badeline to manifest. However, because Badeline does show up in 8a, and 8b as a Badeline Boost, this suggests Badeline doesn't completely disappear during the Core sides. However, in 8c, Badeline doesn't show up at all. This is potentially explained due to how 8c already starts close to the centre of the mountain, and may be preventing Badeline from appearing.

"part of you" would get really annoying and confusing to say all the time so people just use "badeline" because its much easier
