i'm trying to install the newest version of ahorn but it keeps erroring out.
this is the log generated after making everest create a new virtual hard drive file and download ahorn + dependencies:

additional context: removing the "mods" folder from my celeste install doesn't make any difference, so it seems to be a problem with either ahorn or the olympus installer for it

trying to install it using the batch file yields this error log, instead

restarting my computer and trying to launch ahorn through olympus again gives me a message quite similar to the one i got when trying to install via the batch file:

is there any way to force the installers to grab an earlier version of ahorn? ive had ahorn work on this machine before but when i tried updating it became unusable and then when i tried a fresh install in 2 different ways it didnt work and i got the errors posted above

ill also try the manual install though and update this thread with the results

I doubt installing any other version of Ahorn would help, its not failing on anything specifically Ahorn

what about old versions of the setup script?

it had worked at some point in the past for me so either actually using an older script or, if not possible at least comparing what the two do might be helpful

Id recommend the newest standalone script or the olympus vhd method

is your windows username actually "alion8me", or is that censoring something?

IE something with non latin characters (russian, polish etc)

i believe that there has been issues with the gdk pixbuf with that

in which case i can only recommend setting Olympus to install it to a folder not containing your username

how old is your cpu? less than 5 years?

the computer itself is newer than that yeah

the only pixbuf error I remember was the one related to non-latin characters in a username

is there anything else i can try deleting/uninstalling?

using this batch file (which i had saved to my deskop) is loadng an instance of ahorn with this about screen (can't find version number anywhere)

i remember having installed this in the past

#

unless ahorn has received no updates since 2021 this is definitely not the most recent version

i also don't want to check for updates because if i brick this install then i'll be in trouble
