Tried to play for the first time in a few months, and it booted up fine at first, but after updating mods and installing dependencies I got this error.
Searching through here, from what I understand I need to redownload Celeste (I have the itch.io version so I can't just verify the files I don't think) and then copy the saves/mods over, but I'm worried I'll mess something up, so for clarity:

is this (still) correct?
I think I found the correct folder for the save data (under /Celeste/Saves) but do I copy the folder itself or its contents? (also I couldn't find a separate mods folder but that's not necessarily a big deal, I'm fine with redownloading those)

it doesn't matter if you copy the Saves folder or what's in it, the only difference is where you move it to but it's pretty self-explanatory

so i assume the Saves folder inside Celeste doesn't contain much?

Yeah that's the folder I meant (just truncated the filepath for space, sorry)

i dont think you need to copy it

since you won't be removing or changing it

but you can make a backup if you want
