#"Missing Vanilla Data :("

I have a strawberry jam game slot for the map I've played on for 2+ years, I had to reset some stuff on my laptop so I installed SJ again, and I CAN see some game data for that map in the saves folder (image1). That file is called "34-modsavedata.celeste". Though I noticed that all of the other save files also have a XX.celeste file for every XX-modsavedata.celeste file (if that save file is modded).. So I tried copying one of them and created a 34.celeste file, and then it was able to load that file in the game and I was able to enter the map, but nothing was saved and when I came back to the 34-modsavedata.celeste file it was reset. When I tried copy and pasting the contents of 34-modsavedata.celeste to 34.celeste it displayed that "Missing Vanilla Data :(" error (image2). My actual question is if I can somehow recover the vanilla game file for the modded SJ game file.

I don't think 34-modsavedata.celeste can be 34.celeste be like since there is 0-modsavedata.celeste

I got it to load all the past data for the time and deaths.. but for some reason the strawberries, hearts, and individual time and deaths for every map i beat didnt save.. (i beat shattersong but it doesnt show it, the text i pasted in my last message was the data for shattersong)

#

Oh, and it now reset that data in the text file

im trying to figure out the vanilla 34.celeste file

if you create a new save file in that slot

#

the 34.celeste file will contain a section for vanilla stuff and a section for modded stuff

#

you can replace the section for modded stuff with the things in your 34-modsavedata.celeste file and then it should work

#

let me check again how exactly it is laid out

#

okay so in your 34.celeste file you want to look for a section starting with <LevelSets> and ending with </LevelSets>

#

and you want to copy the section starting with <LevelSets> and ending with </LevelSets> from the .modsavedata file containing the data into that section in the .celeste file

#

and then I believe it should work

Okay hold up I'm trying it

and probably also replace the 34.modsavedata with the one containing your SJ data if that isn't already the case
