@gilded haven the workaround is to enable debug mode 
enabling debug mode prevents the code path which makes the crash happen

in linux save files are in ~/local/Celeste

cus it isn't
it says "system.dllnotfoundexception: unable to load shared library blah blah blah"
i did edit modsettings-Everest.celeste and it still didn't work
