I followed the steps on downloading olympus/strawberry jam and got to the step that said everest should open but its not. I pressed on Everest on Olympus a few times and its not opening. Olympus also resets itself every time i reopen it and it takes 5 minutes to open everytime. I tried redownloading it, updating my pc (windows) and opening celeste normally on the steam page but nothing's working.

When i click on everest it says "ok everest is opening you can close olympus now" but then nothing happens after i close olympus

i think the problem is that when it says its opening something it's just not opening anything? like it cant open any other applications?

As of the Everest Core update, Everest tries to create symlinks in order to share these two folders between the vanilla and modded installs of the game:

Saves, to sync save data between vanilla and modded
Content, to avoid making a duplicate of all the game assets and save about 1 GB of storage space
However, creating a symlink requires admin privileges on Windows. Installing Everest will still work if you choose not to give admin privileges, but you won't get the benefits listed above.

Creating the symlink can also fail on external drives that use non-NTFS filesystems (such as some flash drives). Installing Everest 4482 or later will still work on these filesystems, but data will not be shared between vanilla and modded. If this is an issue, moving your Celeste install to the C drive should fix it.

install vanilla celeste on an ntfs partition and repeat the installation there?

the warning shows because you're trying to install celeste on a filesystem that does not support symbolic links

but right now everest just doesnt launch when i click olympus, and clicking celeste doesnt open celeste as well

ok so i tried installing everest again, again and now this pop up is gone but the original ntfs card thing is still there

ignoring the error makes everest "downloaded" but it still doesnt open

(As in i click on everest on olympus, olympus says ok its downloading you can exit now, and nothing happened)
