I have been making a map in Snowberry but I am having issues with maps saving (I have tried saving two different maps). The map that I am making sometimes will not save; for example I made a room, saved, then relaunched Celeste and it was not there. The backups are working and I have been able to load them to save my progress; but the map wont save to the original file. The map in my mods folder is just the .BIN file and I have pasted a folder with the .BIN file and the snowberrymeta.yaml file but that map will not show up in the select map tab in Snowberry. Is there a fix for this or is it just because its an early beta?
#Snowberry issue with saving

I am on 0.1.2 btw
so snowberry successfully takes a backup, but doesn't successfully save the map? that's odd
the metadata file in the backup zip file is not used by the game, you don't need to copy it
when you copy out the backed up bin file, does that map show up in the everest map selector?
I saved over the original file and that showed up
I copied the backup folder and that did not show up
did you copy a backup zip file, or did you extract it and then copy it?
actually wait, a map file inside a folder is not a valid mod and won't get loaded
it was unzipped
(needs to be in a Maps folder)
yeah, backups are not valid loadable mods - the maps inside them are fine, but they're not structured to be loaded directly, they're structured for snowberry to use
and snowberry's level selector currently only shows levels that everest has loaded, which is why those didn't show up
anyways, so the main issue is that snowberry sometimes doesn't save, hm
got it
if it manages to produce a backup, then there's nothing wrong with the map saving code itself
are you saving by clicking on the button, or through the keybind? since i think someone mentioned that the keybinds wouldn't always trigger under certain situations
I have been trying both
Before exiting my map, I have typically been playtesting then going back to the editor and pressing ctrl-s and pressing the save button, then quitting using the button
closing triggers a backup, which is probably why those always worked
That makes sense
alright, i'll chalk it up to keybind issues and investigate those separately
thanks for bringing this up!
Thank you!
oh, and also actually add a "restore backup" button, been meaning to do that for a long time
That would be nice I think, thanks again and good luck!
