When playing with Everest there is persistant stuttering every few seconds.
It doesn't affect the base game and there are no mods installed.

I'm using the Steam OpenGL branch, which I believe is the FNA version.
Distro is Fedora 39
I haven't found any mention of this in github issues or in any help thread.

#

Last version I can find that did not stutter was 4449 (2023-12-02)
with 4465 (2023-12-16) it starts again

jumping from 4449 to 4465 shouldve done the opposite effect catplanet

#

what are your computer's specs?

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
AMD RX 580

i literally have the same hardware, it must be a driver issue

Other games work fine

#

but I did notice that the steamoverlay is broken on 4449 and Vanilla Celeste

red iris
#

yeah that has always been like that

sudden shuttle
#

it is fixed on 4465 for me

red iris

what amd driver are you running?

sudden shuttle
#

but that has the stuttering

sudden shuttle
#

I'll just have to figure out how to build and dissect Everest

red iris
#

iirc that's the foss one

sudden shuttle
#

the proprietary one, amdgpu-pro, is the same with some stuff added that shouldn't affect the game

red iris
#

okay, mandatory question, does this happen with all mods disabled

red iris
#

4465 switched the runtime of celeste, and updated fna

#

which should only improve things??

sudden shuttle
#

unless there is a bug somewhere in Everest, FNA or SDL2

red iris
#

i mean, you can try updating/downgrading FNA and SDL, just replace the .dll or .so files

#

also try running it with vulkan

#

--graphics vulkan iirc

For some unholy reason switching to the default branch and back fixed it?
