#How to play vanilla after installing mod loader?
29 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
if you, during the installation process after a dialog box popped up asking for administration permission, happened to click "No" in there (or just could not/didnt want to give it permission) then your saves will be separate from everest and vanilla celeste
so, the easiest fix is to reinstall everest and click yes on there, or you could copy the files manually, though again, progress will not be synced
If I reinstall it now will that reset my progress on everest so I dont have my saves on Everest nor Vanilla?
nope, reinstalling everest does not erase saves
Alright, I'll try it rn.
@wild tulip Just uninstall and install again? Or is there an actual reinstall option?
To update Everest go to Olympus and click the cog on the top line, next to the Everest and Celeste buttons.
Select the version you want to install, typically this should be the latest stable, then press install.
If Everest or Lönn are currently open, close them since they open files in a way that prevents them updating.
If your Olympus does not look like this use the /updateolympus command
updating will efectively be the same as reinstalling
also before you do
you may want to do something
except you don't get the popup when updating
verifying game files and then installing everest will show the popup
go to your celeste installation and go to orig and delete the Saves folder there
because the offender folders/symlinks are already there
either will do
So delete the orig/Saves and update Olympus?
yes
Alright
(for safety, make sure there is nothing importnat in saves)
settings.celeste in there
but it shouldnt since you told your saves where not there
you should look for n.celeste, where n is a number
This was the only thing in there
okay, then go on
