#Failed updates

it has been failing to update jungle helper and the big reveal for like 3 weeks now, and now under dragon thing too
and there's apparenty no reason of why
it just arbitrarily chose that those three wouldn't update and they fail to update no matter when I do it
what is the reason
If you have crashed, and are on Everest Core, there will be a log in the CrashLogs folder, which contains extra information that the regular logs do not. The Core crash handler will tell you the file name, and give you the option to open the folder.
Otherwise, in order to get Everest logs, open Olympus, and:
- Press the "Manage", under the "Installations" panel on the main menu
- Press "Browse" to open the Celeste folder
- Send the
log.txtfile from that folder (not theerror_log.txtor any log fromLogHistory)
Note, on both Everest versions, there are older logs in the LogHistory folder inside the Celeste folder, but these are not the relevant logs. The most recent one is directly in the Celeste folder (and in CrashLogs for Core users), and not in any other folders.
Everest logs contain paths to certain files and folders in your system (e.g.: active helpers) to help with diagnosing problems. Remember to censor any usernames in log files before uploading them.
did you restart the game? the log has to be from after you try to update
let me try to update again
also i'll be real I read this for too long before realizing you just wanted me to send the log.txt ๐ญ
yea probably didn't need to use the whole slash command in this case lol
just habit
here
now the underdragon dec updated
but jungle helper and big reveal still fail
which are the two that have been failing forever
it's the funny "being used by another process" thing
unfortunately i have no idea how to find out what said other process is
I don't have lonn or ahorn open nor have I opened them today
actually i do know of one way but it requires an external program
in this program you'd want to use Find > Find Handle or DLL... and then type in the filepath (or part of it, it should probably suffice just to use the zip name)
and fingers crossed it should tell you what currently has those files open
if you don't want to go through all that trouble a pc restart might help
I've tried that before, it doesn't

is there any logical explanation for what might be using the files
but yea as a random example
no clue
maybe some antivirus thing
i also occasionally have random "used by another process" errors when i have this automatic backup program running but that's a lot more sporadic
but yeah it could be like anything
might be worth it to just download them manually ig
worth a try i guess
but yeah the process explorer thing is the only thing i know of to actually figure out the issue, short of closing random processes which i would. not recommend
I'll check the program later, thanks
