#everest still not installing
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
absolutely that is a problem
how can you update something that's still running
that's like repairing a bike while you're still actively riding it
happy modding
ah
send the log-sharp.txt file
did you restart olympus
you still have the file if you didn't
..huh?
what do you mean
real quick can you check your olympus version
where did you get it from
did you get the top or bottom doenload
okay good
okay so you relaunched olympus
try installing again
if it crashes, go to %localappdata%\Olympus (press windows+r and type that in) and send the log-sharp.txt file
ah
As of the Everest Core update, Everest tries to create symlinks in order to share these two folders between the vanilla and modded installs of the game:
Saves, to sync save data between vanilla and moddedContent, to avoid making a duplicate of all the game assets and save about 1 GB of storage space
However, creating a symlink requires admin privileges on Windows. Installing Everest will still work if you choose not to give admin privileges, but you won't get the benefits listed above.
Creating the symlink can also fail on external drives that use non-NTFS filesystems (such as some flash drives). Installing Everest 4482 or later will still work on these filesystems, but data will not be shared between vanilla and modded. If this is an issue, moving your Celeste install to the C drive should fix it.
see the bottom paragraph
this is what you're experiencing
you can also just install a newer version
the yellow one has that fixed
you'll get a warning instead of a crash
but you can install just fine
only issue is that your saves unfortunately won't be synchronized between vanilla and everest
its not a big deal though
please send logs when it crashes
they tell us what it's doing and where it's going wrong
i'm talking about the logs
ah, so i guess it was some weird file lock thing
anyway
huh?
you have everest once
nope
rest assured you only have one
that's what i'm here for
happy modding
celeste is open
or something's using it
System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Celeste\Celeste.exe' is denied.
scroll down
the 6 apps are the apps which are visible
and have a window
"background processes" contains all the apps that are running in the background
i suppose try again?
Access to the path 'D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Celeste\Celeste.Mod.mm.dll' is denied.
only explanation on my mind rn is that your antivirus is looking in your mod files or something
try restarting and installing again
no need
but if you want to be triple sure, verify game files and reinstall everest
Steam Instructions
Epic Games Store Instructions
If you have Everest installed, you will need to reinstall it after verifying.
okay, nuke the file it's talking about and try again
Celeste.Mod.mm.dll inside the celeste folder
yea
no, in your celeste folder
do the same to DiscordGameSDK.dll
no need
same folder as the previous one
i can't tell immediately
but just scroll to the bottom after it errors and it should tell you the issue
Celeste.xml -> D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Celeste\Celeste.xml
Unzipping #96 / 181: DiscordGameSDK.dll
