I am having a big weird issue
so, when I go and open celeste with a lot of mods enabled (which are the ones needed to play the strawberry jam collab maps), it opens it as a background process, after some time I get the celeste loading screen and immediately after it crashes.
???????????
I literally have no clue on what is going on.
when I unload all mods it works.
When I then go to reload them in IT ALSO WORKS BUT THE FOLLOWING DAY THIS CYCLE REPEATS, WHAT IS HAPPENING
#Celeste opening as a backgroung process

If you have crashed, and are on Everest Core, there will be a log in the CrashLogs folder, which contains extra information that the regular logs do not. The Core crash handler will tell you the file name, and give you the option to open the folder.
Otherwise, in order to get Everest logs, open Olympus, and:
- Press the "Manage", under the "Installations" panel on the main menu
- Press "Browse" to open the Celeste folder
- Send the
log.txtfile from that folder (not theerror_log.txtor any log fromLogHistory)
Note, on both Everest versions, there are older logs in the LogHistory folder inside the Celeste folder, but these are not the relevant logs. The most recent one is directly in the Celeste folder (and in CrashLogs for Core users), and not in any other folders.
Everest logs contain paths to certain files and folders in your system (e.g.: active helpers) to help with diagnosing problems. Remember to censor any usernames in log files before uploading them.
which everest version are you on?
you can find that in the installations column on olympus
something like "1.4.0.0-fna + 1.4465.0-azure-abcdef"
so 4465, okay
lemme get the log file
does your game open up a notepad window or does it show a crash handler?
like an "Oooops :(" screen
nop
so a notepad window?
neither

it just shuts off
wait your entire pc?
no
I have olympus open rn
olympus is the launcher; everest is the mod loader that attaches to celeste, the game
cool
this feels like some hard crash is going on
could it be hardware related
oh man
yeah
i mean, it should still run fine on those
also it might not even be entirely the gpu's fault
it might be some weird access violation
all the other drivers are up to date
basically it tries to access memory it doesn't have access to
likely because something's corrupt
or something goes horribly wrong
oh man
anyway
open your celeste files and find everest-launch.txt
open it in notepad, then go to the end of the file and add --console to the end
this will make it show up a console window when you open celeste; it's like a live view of log.txt
in case celeste just dies there's a chance something is logged there before the window closes
let's try
yeah keep an eye on the console window and look at it right before it crashes
bonus points if you can record a video
ok so I see a lot of mods are not getting loaded
right up
I'll restart the game
yea
a LOT of them are not loading
can i see?
I'm recording a video of it
ahh

if it's too large i recommend something like handbrake to compress it
HandBrake is an open-source, GPL-licensed, multiplatform, multithreaded video transcoder.

ah, mkv
why the fuck did it save as an mkv
nah it's good
also dw about the "optional dependency not loaded, delaying" stuff
it's normal
(off topic but wow i did not know the niko skinmod also replaces the madeline icon, that's adorable)
ik right
it used not to
also the dialogues look amazing
reopening with fmod live update off
tbf It's still taking a pretty long time to load
yeah i noticed
what sort of cpu are you running on?
this feels to me like an underpowered pc
oof
i now know that they scammed me
they?
I just realized
the plot thickens
ok so
I quickly beated 2B to test things out
the stuter is almost gone
òet me now try to open the prolòogue of stawberry jam
the graphics drivers are updated
I updated tehm yesterday to try and resolve this thing
well then
I am praying for it to now work
@tulip ice it now works
Idfk how and why tho
it still takes a while to load but eh
it works
gonna mark as resolved
