#Installing Dependencies Error

can you try this custom version? this is the latest dev (4576) but with a custom patch that should fix this
click on the cog to the right of Celeste, scroll all the way down, click Select from .zip and give it this zip
here's more info if you're curious: https://github.com/EverestAPI/Everest/pull/726
@tawny glade
ive just tried it and it still throws errors for all dependencies
can you send your log.txt?
If you have crashed, and are on Everest Core, there will be a log in the CrashLogs folder, which contains extra information that the regular logs do not. The Core crash handler will tell you the file name, and give you the option to open the folder.
Otherwise, in order to get Everest logs, open Olympus, and:
- Press the "Manage", under the "Installations" panel on the main menu
- Press "Browse" to open the Celeste folder
- Send the
log.txtfile from that folder (not theerror_log.txtor any log fromLogHistory)
Note, on both Everest versions, there are older logs in the LogHistory folder inside the Celeste folder, but these are not the relevant logs. The most recent one is directly in the Celeste folder (and in CrashLogs for Core users), and not in any other folders.
Everest logs contain paths to certain files and folders in your system (e.g.: active helpers) to help with diagnosing problems. Remember to censor any usernames in log files before uploading them.
follow the 3 bullet points
okay, this doesn't seem like something i can fix
Das Format der empfangenen Nachricht war unerwartet oder fehlerhaft.
"The format of the received message was unexpected or incorrect."
this sounds like internet issues
im not sure what this could be caused by though
maybe some permission error?
don't think so
this really sounds like internet issues
you could downloads your dependencies yourself in case it still doesn't work, but it'll be quite a chore unfortunately
but if i can do that then why cant everest if its just automating the process?
i have no clue
I have found that with an inconsistent connection to the internet, a browser will pause downloads to resume when more stable and Everest will straight cancel the download
but i am on a stable lan connection and have never had any download problems, is there any way to check if this is the case?
i have a feeling the connection is just straight up dying but i have no way to check if this is the case as i can't see the time inbetween the error logs
Would the errorlog.txt file timestamp errors individually?
errorlog.txt is only for critical errors
aka pre-load errors and errors so severe (like ooms) that they bypass the entire crash handler
yeah everything just dies immediately
what the hell
you can revert to latest stable/dev because my custom version is not designed for this issue
oh and i also tried pasting the exact links into my browser and that somehow worked fine
yeah im sorry but i can't help here
unlucky :/
yeah this is common for some reason
accessing the files in a browser works fine but not via celeste or olympus
