Unable to confirm blank text without keyboard input enabled

While using the Head2Head mod, I wanted to change my Role text to be blank, but I wasn't able to confirm my text selection. Once the text is blank, the accept button gets greyed out and my menu confirm bind is only able to interact with a character or the cancel button.

I had to toggle on the "Use Keyboard for Text Input" option to be able to confirm a blank text input. I was wondering if I missed something obvious to confirm the blank text or if the ability to confirm empty text without keyboard input enabled is something to be added.

tbh this seems like blank isn't meant to be possible at all, rather than it just not working with controller @errant smelt because h2h
