for some reason the background isnt showing the upper layers of the back ground

that's probably because all the clouds are behind the styleground which takes up the entire screen

you can fix that by using the move up/down buttons on the bottom

layers which are lower show up later

because the styleground you have selected is already on the top

the lower the styleground is in loenn, the later it'll render
which means all the clouds are behind the styleground

the solution here is to move the bg0 styleground to the top

which means all the clouds will be in front of it, rather than behind

that is relatively confusing at first but you get used to it

think of layers on the top as being the ones further behind
