actually one thing that is worth asking (for context i was DM'd about this first)

is there a specific reason you need the core branch or are you just trying to install everest in general

if you don't need the core branch, it's recommended to stick with the latest stable

maybe try reinstalling celeste, it's possible trying to do a partial install of the core branch messed things up

(if you want to back up your save data first to be safe, it's in the Saves folder of your install folder)
