try force-closing olympus via task manager
the message for this is now at the bottom of olympus feed, maybe it should be moved somewhere else?
wow i haven't seen that issue in actual years i think
ok that's a bit of a stretch but it was apparently fixed in april 2021
I wasn't sure people were still running into it so I wasn't sure it would make sense to keep it "pinned" 😅
well it only comes up if people come back to modding after a long absence, like in this case
yeah
in which case is there much point at all? since it's unlikely to be seen and unlikely to be needed
my plan was to keep it there until it's "pushed out" when there are enough news
(I'm planning to keep the 25 latest entries in there)
fair enough
(Nyan is the one writing the news but I'm the one putting them in Olympus
)
that is possibly the least surprising thing you could've said
oh my bad i thought i would get notifs on this
i took a backup and verified game files just now
kill olympus after ive restarted? or on 'updated successfully screen'? doesnt seem to be doing anything
you just need to use task manager to force close olympus
yeah ive been doing that
and it's still prompting you to update?
yeah
@wintry steeple
are you killing main.exe? the thing has multiple processes
yeah
oh
i think i got it now
yeah no more prompts
was probably missing an instance or something
thanks a bunch haha
is everyone already aware of that or what :p
np
it's more that I know nyan is unlikely to do much coding and that most of olympus is maintained by you
and that nyan handles a lot of the news
I hadn't realised the exact setup but it makes sense knowing the rest of the puzzle pieces
do you get anything like an error log or?
no, just steam trying to start but giving up
normal or everest startup through olympus fizzles out in the same way
can you check your log.txt and see if anything gets put in it?
would be located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Celeste
i did check, there wasnt anything added
did you check the error_log.txt or the log.txt?
my bad i had something else entirely haha
but theres nothing recent in log.txt either
only from when i could still open the game
<@&673391557939953684> this is beyond me lol
what if you run Celeste.exe from the folder or from Steam
have you tried restarting your pc? sometimes steam just does weird things
Yeah also restarted pc
I'm off to school now btw so I can't test anything new
But I feel like it's gonna have to be a clean install, do I lose anything in terms of stats then?
you can just back up your Saves folder
