@drifting anchor Well I strive to be normal. I am actually colourblind differently in both eyes. My right eye can't see any blues and anything similar to blue, and my left eye can't see reds or anything similar to red. So if I concentrate on a an object for a while without looking away, I can kind of see what the colour is, but as I look away it goes monochrome again and it's freaking annoying. Thing is, I'm right handed which means my right eye is closer to the highlighter. My life is a freaking headache xD

I think the dilo has two things it could use improving on. I am currently practing as well with dilos for my dinosaur comic, and I've discovered a few things.

They have LONG, Pointy skulls. Think of a triangle with a REALLY tall top, but horizontal
The crests are actually pretty tall too, on the IRL dilo. Maybe try raising them in your drawing?

@midnight terrace sorry for the mention but I'm just gonna add on to that, look at reference a lot! It may seem wrong to reference things but as long as you don't just straight up copy it's completely fine, many artists do that and referencing for ex. anatomy is very important. It helps a lot in understanding structures, shapes and all other things you need to keep in mind while drawing

@tacit sapphire i’ll start by saying that your lighting, composition, and tenonto are really well done. i’ll just list off stuff for the utah anatomy that i’m noticing, the arms are fine but keep in mind that some dinos will have the outside of their hands pointing to the side. utah is the only exception to this because they made it’s hands halfway pronated. the legs are wonky, but you have the general idea. it would be hard to explain in words what i would change so i redrew it how i would have to get the proportions and attachment more accurate. it’s a sloppy sketch but it helps illustrate how the thigh attaches to the hip. the takeaway is that it just needs to be more substantial because proportionally the thighs are the largest part of any of utah’s limbs, she a thicc biddy. the other part with the legs is that i think the length of the toes to the heel could be shorter.

good way to balance it too is that the theri only brushes away it's footprints if it's walking or troting. not running

Wacom is the leading brand, but because of that they’re expensive. Recently there’s been a boost in competing brands like Huion, XP-Pen, and Artisul that are cheaper but still very good if you’re on a budget too. I’d look up different reviews on YouTube and see what you think will be best for your situation! Also iPads are another big one but also on the expensive side. @radiant finch

Adding to the tablet discussion... I have a wacom bamboo fun that just entered it's teens. It was 100€ or something when I bought it, would not recommend to go higher in price if you are mostly starting out.

If people want to utilize a specific image from the collage they can DM you and you can provide them with the image. Also to add into the discussion going on at the moment:

Instead of beating yourself that you aren't good enough and that you'll never be good like the artists you see, instead reverse that and use that as motivation to BE as great as those you admire. Practice, practice, AND practice. Conquer the basics and master them. Draw, draw, and draw, as much as you can and little by little you will improve as you pick up new techniques that you've learned along the way! studies also do wonders in learning anatomy, objects, lighting, ect. So that you can effectively apply what you learn into future projects you undertake.

But the biggest thing to take from it all is that you aren't going to be 100% perfect within a matter of minutes, they always say that it takes 10,000 hours to become a master in something. And time is truly the key, the more time you put into your craft, the more experience and skill you learn along the way. Don't stress that you aren't getting good fast enough, a lot of art you see here are coming from artists who have put a lot of time into developing their skills. And you can too! Just don't give up!

There are also a metric fuck ton of online resources that are free to use that you can very much use to your advantage. From individual tutorials to speed draws, there is an answering to everything.
