Bright green is GOOD in this game for hiding. Have you never been an all bright green dilo?

I was nested in twice and got two epic coloration options, a Moldy banana type Trike was hilarious while running around. The under belly was the Dryo 3.. Or 4 I think. My top was that bright tanned yellow ish color and everything else was the white, I think it was either Allo 1 or raptor something.
equally so if theyre bright white, but yet we can be predominantly white and no one has an issue with that lul
i could go pretty much all black, no one's got a problem with that
I think they are ugly as heck but at least they dont 100% distract from the world
your freedom I suggest is having much more pattern options such as different stripings or markings and being able to apply colors of the pallete to each one of them. by now i wont care anymore if you 'll make all the patterns look bright.

It really depends on what envinroment you plan to normally stick with or blend with, or plan to be able to hide in
just dilo greens would be perfectly fine. i manage perfectly fine with camo in the day and night time with the normal dilo colors

if you can use bright yellows and whites and make an entirely uncamouflaged skin, why cant you use natural greens for real camo
i do admit that ive seen pretty disgusting camo skins though. but its poor choice/use of these colors/not using them at a pallete that looks better and still provides good camouflage

i believe it currently weighs around 4.7 tons but the size of the model does not reflect that at all and should instead be smaller

@steady cradle sauropods are being worked on. they're attempting to make cama playable in survival, but the size and power makes balance difficult
by try i mean theyre attempting to see if it would fit well and be able to be balanced properly
understandable, but I've heard that for example pue and brachi are out
I would feel that giving players the ability to play it would be, let's say better in my opinion at least
it would be a beautiful sight in game to see them walking around
even if I know it can one shot me I still would love to see it in game
but you do also have to consider how much fun a player would have moving that slow in comparison to everything else and how much food it'd need past cama getting into brachi sized, cause the map might not be able to sustain multiple sauropods so large and hungry. and hopefully when brachi comes ai will be better and fight back and not spawn based on hunger
I've heard rumors of a new map, then maybe they wpuld be limited to v3
so with luck we'll have sauropod ai that responds to the environment, and of course there's always sandbox or injections
there will indeed be a new map. brachi would probably be able to live in larger herds on the bigger map
@indigo sun if you ask me, I'd say that cama doesn't need much more balancing done to it, it's a large sauropod it's meant to be strong (well it is small compared to other sauropods) and all you need is a giga player with a decent bit of knowlegde on the gigas play style

make them faster to be less boring, then theyre op; lower their damage to balance them, then theyre too weak for their size; lower their speed to balance them, then theyre boring

as a herbi: find somewhere with plants, water, and a fir tree, park yourself in it until you need to do something
as a carni: find water and a suitable area you feel safe/can hide in and wait for ai to spawn, go eat the ai, and go back to your spot

it should be so that they can reliably hunt herbivores
i had played with a thought the other day, not sure how it would go in application though- if herbivores overall grew significantly faster than carnivores to encourage greater populations of them
basically I always end up hunting another carnivore
and only have to challenge other carnivores for food, territory and water

my friend (another austro) and i were trying to die in a more climatic way than drowning in saltwater because we wanted to change, and it took us loitering in the docks twice, full of utahs both times, to finally get killed; they just kept 2-calling us

I think its more of a hitbox issue...If it was desync both parties would have different versions of the event...I have had rexes assclap me many times and on the rexes screen he ass claps me also...that sounds like a hitbox issue not desync
so their new combat mechanics can even be used properly

I mean with desync you would probably have to set up a completely different system for how hits register, and with hitboxes you just need to adjust the hitboxes, and since that problem was there probably already a year ago I thought they'd have fixed it if it was a hitbox issue
Im sure there are issues with both. because you are right sometimes people do see different things.
But other times they do not...Its most likely a multi layered problem

If it was a hitbox issue, it would have been this bad a while ago, but it's slowly degraded to what it is now, but the devs are fully aware of the issue and hopefully it's fixed with the recode, and if not, very short after.

How did those 5 people see the same thing if it was desynced and they weren't receiving proper information?

I normally don’t have problems finding people whenever I play. They could probably increase slots and get rid of us3 as an alternative
an increase in slots would be great, would populate the less.. obvious "hot spots" in the game
I think they should keep us3 and still increase slots....Back in the day all three servers were pretty full....I think the content drought is why they are not full anymore..200 players should be easily doable

i'd really love if servers could hold more players without a lot of lag and ai issues, instead of having to use a smaller map when larger ones can hold more promise for places for different things like aquatics and fliers and caves in mountains
yeah they dont need a smaller map all they need is more reason to roam across the map. instead of having high traffic focus areas like titan or twins. give people a reason to migrate across and they will.
I'd love to have more players, but that seems like it would kill server performance currently
Though thenyaw is a meh map, I found its pacing so much better and saw other players much more often
The v3 map is set up pretty poorly...The middle of the map is cut off with ravines and such...Im very hopeful for the new map 😄

I think lazy river should run from southwest to north east.
several long rivers connecting to one lake could help lead people to that area, as opposed to v3 rivers which are just kind of isolated and separated
Put the ravine at the south going from east to west
THen have a shit load of little rivers flowing off of lazy
i think people are naturally compelled to follow rivers, to some extent; it provides some kind of direction to go when you dont know where

@valid zephyr honestly i think herbi food should be either seasonal or not persistent and goes through a sort of "growing" period. once one area has been depleted by a herd. there would be a drought and no food in that area for an hour or so till it grows back. FORCING herds to migrate to other areas. and perhaps having to move through unfavourable terrain reigned by predators.
so if numerous rivers congregated, people would follow them
I've played on 200 player servers and they are much better but still fill empty at times.

i've essentially got burnt out again due to this last week of playing and seeing so little with a full server.
ITd be nice to have some hotspots though...With say 200 player pop on this map you could have some hotspots and still have the rest of the map filled decently
Raptor rock was nice cus you had somewhere to go that you always knew you could find some kind of interaction
natural hot spots occur regardless of what happens, people will always selectively choose their fav places and as a collective agree thats a good place to "be"
i never really have trouble finding people on a 100/100 server comrade
I do not have trouble finding people...But its way to easy to sit somewhere and never see anything with current population
somtimes i find what i think might be a hotspot as when i turn up it's busy for a bit
then i'll go a week and it's empty
And in a survival horror game i dont think it should be the case
the usual spots seem to be twins, herbi hill, and greatfalls but even they have yielded nothing this week
gotta remember anyway when humans get added human settlements will most likely be natural hot spots for dino's wether its food or protection.

i think its a good change in the sense that no one species should have an "untouchable holy ground" but it was bad in the sense that it removed alot of social behavior on part of the utahs

utah rock would have been solved by adding edible plants around it. This would mean pachys could contest the rock

So i agreed they shouldnt have that type of spot....But i feel removing the social part of the game and still allowing the spot (port) was a bad move

i dont think they "allowed" them to have the port i think the port is just something they dont wish to remove but know the raptors cant keep long term so they will let it pass for time being

I'm sure port will be relinquished back to human control once they're released, the raptors won't have a specific spot to run to, but can make a good amount of rocks their temporary safe haven

the issue though is the map is just too vast for the amount of players.

I honestly can't say I've had any problems running into other players. You never know when you're gonna run into a player, or maybe you're being stalked. The map could be made slightly smaller or just more slots added
US3 used to have 110 at one point in time
@lament kayak I dont think Giga needs a speed buff atm. It is very formidable already, can travel long distances with ease, is pretty fast for an apex, and it doesn't need to fear rex unless the rex sneaks very close.

50 km ambush is far too high, you shouldnt even be relying on any sort of ambush as a giga with a trot like he has to catch prey. giga can trot anything down because they'll need to run to escape and those guys will eventually run out of stamina
or just delete giga and never have this problem

It is very different than rex. Rex is an ambush predator. Giga is an endurance predator
giga is pretty damn fast, it gets around the map much better than rex does, and even with lower damage, giga with slow trot and a fast ambush is still functionally useless as a bleeder

Speed should help with sauropod hunting, you can simply hit and run, that's why I like speed. I don't think a bleeder should be slow
Id tone down gigas alt turn speed, and i would tone down how much stam regen it has...Id still allow it to be the only apex to gain stam while moving but tone it down a bit
I'd be fine with no stam regen while standing, or even less than 30 seconds of stam, acro is pretty damn fast and bleeds well
With your speed and stamina changes giga becomes literally a Rex with bleed
I like it having that stam regen while moving makes them unique and helps with their ability to bleed

A dilo is a fairly speedy dino, mainly because it bleeds and lacks damage, although you can argue that its weak so it'll need speed
Dilo is slow in the small tier
Its overpowered atm is my problem. It needs a bit tone down on its stam regen and a slower atl turn. Then would be very balanced IMO

you dont need high speed to keep up with a slow ass sauropod and you can just as easily run in and bite with giga's current speed

rex is a brawler. it's fast for a short period and makes up for its lacking stamina with bone break, which it uses to try and keep prey in place once it doesnt have much stamina. giga is a bleeder. it can run in and bite things, then circle and keep the thing on its feet until it can either get another bite in or make the thing drop dead. it would use its stamina for this
my plan with ambush was to let the giga get a quick few bites, and then slowly trot it down till it gets tired out. It's basically what it already does but now it catches up quickly at first, then slows down and lets bleed get to its prey
A low base speed is fine though
it shouldnt be slowly trotting things down. it should make things run out of stamina by keeping up with it easily with trot
And whats the counterplay for that, and how giga bites again if the prey wont bleed out

I feel that very small things (Psittaco, Veloci, Hatchling / Fresh Juvies) should get trampled anyway, depending on the size of the trample-ee. Teach the kids not to walk directly beneath their multi-ton parents.
I feel like that'd make giga even MORE broken and overpopulated once brachi and cama are in. All you'd really have to do is follow a brachi around and bite it once in a while
The main issue for giga to me is how he shitfucks mid tier animals, and how easy he is to achieve, not really how survivable he is.
Hardly anyone bothers walking anyways, there needs to be a bigger incentive/reason to choose walk over trot
Gigas will still have challenges (Gigas who aren't very good at giga-ing) will still be rex meals. And combined with the alt turn nerf, giga will also be huntable by smaller animals, which should help with population control.

I was thinking of a rage mechanic for dinos but its only an idea
So if you bite in an area where the sauropod can damage you, you're gonna take a bearing.

I think rage can be built up and in order to use it, you'd press 5
Killing hatchlings or longtime pack mates may enable rage, and during this time, the dino will generally roar very aggressively
The duration could be a minute or two long, and stam would either slowly deplete or even cease to deplete
The bites become faster, the dinosaur starts off in ambush
And attacks generally become harder to control but stronger
I mean it sounds cool, but idk how it would work in practice.
The base of it sounds cool, just would need more heads to tweak it
