It means that it is already planned. And that it is currently in development. It will be released in time.
Oh did they say grabbing babies will be a thing?
The torn limbs would be cool but like they previously mentioned it is too much work.
Maybe the Devs can start with the bodies and upgrade it to the torn limbs or give us a button for us to choose if our Dino will tear a limb or just drag the body around.
Disection is something they probs will add, just the severed limbs may not be edible.
In my eyes, the eating mechanism in saurian is a rather good example for what smaller animals should be capable of when it comes to disection.
And I think carrying babies would be a very good upgrade to the nesting thing. Because the watering holes are pretty dangerous enough to watch your other babies while they venture down to the lakes where hungry predators lurk
And also maybe for herbivores can carry leaves or flowers around with them
The main thing about baby carrying is how exploitable it is. Being able to carry your baby infinitely would leave no opportunity for smaller predators.
Also babies are slow as heck
With like no stam
@arctic nexus limit carrying babies then
Maybe 1 baby at a time
So there are still vulnerable babies
Also the mother wont be able to bite
Excellent. Gold star.
When having babies in the mouth
So she will have to put them down
To defend herself
Okay, so let's have a scenario.
Mother Tyrannosaurus with 1 child
Not much is going to mess with her.
However, say a giga comes along.
- She's going to have a male mate to fight it off.
- Would the Giga really bother to go for the child?
If a dinosaur is willing to kill a baby under the feet of its parent, what stops the parent from then guarding that body?
Either way. Depending if a server has rules or not will affect this.
It was just an example, don't change the topic.
Also babies would be a target when left alone or if the parents ever want to move locations
Right well. The mother tells you to shut the hell up, if you make a noise she will disown you.
Usually you'll reach sub before anything realises you are there.
I'm not a pedophile. Of course I don't grab children.
This discussion is over
When you think up a valid argument, ping me.
Of what
Why having that mechanic would be good?
@arctic nexus
I can list many reasons
Go mental
@arctic nexus why not have, I don't know, a TIME LIMIT for holding a baby? Woah, WHAT A CONCEPT! Only being able to do a specific action for a specified amount of time....
A pretty average concept in my eyes. It does sound however, rather plain.
A time limit for holding something so small? It just doesn't sound right.
Nesting is a rather small aspect of the game, yes in the future maybe it will have a point other than minor teleportation and a way of reducing boredom. But today is not that day.
I remain curious on how the developers will handle this matter. We can do nothing, but wait.
I feel like being able to carry a baby would ruin the tension and risk of having your child being prey upon.
I do not really see a point in baby carrying if a time limit is involved. The whole point of it is to get baby from point A to point B. Being able to only carry it a fraction of the distance before resting kind of deletes to the purpose of this.
It would be quicker for the baby to just waddle on beside you.
@brazen wolf the giga is a bleeder not a dinosaur that breaks bones, it was design to bleed things out and the rex was design to use blunt force to take its prey down
That video on how "T.rex sounded like" is not a reliable source iirc
It really is
Have you seen how other species inrl broadcast
The deeper longer sounds
Travel far and wide
The rex call would be so deep the wave lengths would vibrate things near it
Yeah but the coolness of that effect is the "You feel it more than you hear it" can't be recreated ingame
So not only is it hard to hear a fucking Tyrannosaur near you
True but I find that one more scary
I kinda suggested that already @jovial blade
I didnt say to use the exact same call
I said a deeper call
And the video is just an example
I said that aswell
The devs would obviously have to modify it
Still a bad idea.
Because brother this is a video game
So?
Whats the point in spending more money to make sounds just so we can go "AAAA?A?A?A?A akkerat LOL"
It's not even a bad sound
It would sound way more frightening
To hear a deep long tone
Bruh
You bought the game for calls?
The fuck did you even grab that from
You haven't even read what I've said
Also "bruh"
In what sense
This is fun to watch.
It's not about "sounding more appealing"
Wait so you want a deep rumble or just a deep call?
Deep call
...
Then why did you bring up the video
Of a sound that's little more than a rumble
If you want a deep broadcast...
I get it, rex sounds are ehhhhhhhh
Giga and Triceratops have the superior broadcasts
Would be a lot more terrifying
Giganotosaurus's call is deep, you want something like that right?
I forgot how giga calls tbh
Look
Deep rumble sounds are cool
But
irl only
Because you fucking feel the thing
In a game, that's not possible
Just
rrrrrrrrr
..
"ok"
It's not just the vibration
Its the tone
And how far the call travels
As I said for the 3rd time
The devs would modify to sound more appealing
You're arguing as if i said to make it the exact same sound in the video
No
If the devs were to modify it
How would they
Make it into a bellow or something?
But im actually curious to how would you edit the sound
Into what they would they would edit it
It's literally a deep rumble as you said
Yes
No
Dilos call is weird
I'm not sure how they would want it but I just want a deeper one
Dilo's call is the best sound in the game'
Right now its weird
uh
dilo sounds horrible
Sounds like a herb
allo has the best calls
Allo actually has a scary call
tries so hard to sound creepy imo
Rex just sounds weird
Allo just screams
Inferior to Giga the absolute chad
giga has good calls too
allo sounds more creepy then "dilos ring ding ding ding"
No
I like acro 1 call
Giga and Triceratops
cera and dilo😂
Acro is cool too
thats a fucking funny joke
Albert is funny
Allo is literally just "Aa?a?a??a?a?a?a?a?aa??AAA"
The bite sounds like barking
even tho i like cera his calls get fucking overshadowed
cera is just AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaa
dilo is just ding ding ding ding
cera sounds the most generic

ok
lets take this to discussion
worst sfx is Utahraptor hands down
or one word
Videogame

I do think the apex carnivore pack limit needs to be lowered
Even as new as I am, it's rather common to see a 5 pack of rexes sweep through an area murdering people.
In regards to the rex call- the deep growl would be far more intimidating to hear than the big booming noise as majestic as the big roar sounds the deep growl would be scarier day or night
What would the point be of having 5 full grown trikes, no one would ever want to fight you?
Especially if Apex limits were reduced
But that doesn't mean I don't think herbivores shouldn't be in herds much larger than the current carnivore apexes are. I just think currently if there were five trikes and the limit were 2 adult apexes, nothing would ever touch your herd.
I hope you realize that two adult Gigas are enough to kill five Trikes if they know how to use their speed, bleed and ambush. @loud oasis
The suggestion is there to make it more balanced/fair for people that play without being part of a big group.
There's a too wide range of Apex groups that makes it unfair for pretty much everyone that doesn't play with friends.
This game should be enjoyable for everyone.
Even if you play as a lone Apex you can still take two if you know how to fight or get lucky. You can't win against four or five, ever.
I think allowing 5 trikes to be in a herd while limiting apex packs to 2-3 is fine for now, it might have to be changed again when the combat rework is there
You're also assuming that the trike players are trash
It's called a herd for a reason, I forgot to state that.
@loud oasis I'm not, Giga needs three bites and a Trike will die if it can't sit.
Since Trikes don't break bones anymore they're pretty much Giga food 🤷🏽
trike players are not trash, but trikes are slow and they die to bleed pretty quickly
^
Assuming the trike doesn't doesn't land a few hits as well and if they are backed up by four or five then it can sit
Behind a wall of horns
That's the point of being in a herd so you're not easy food.
Put two Trikes against two Gigas and the Trikes die 99.9% of the time
You said two gigas can easily kill five trikes
They can
But I'm countering the argument of people saying Trike should be two aswell like Rex and Giga
once dino collision and locational damage are a thing trike might get a lot harder to kill because you cannot run through it while biting it
because it would be "unfair"
I think something needs to be done on the carnivore Apex limits. That's all I suggested. A lot of people seem to be giving it a thumbsup so we shall see where it's going.
apexes are also way too easy to grow
I don't really have high hopes because last time someone suggested it they had over 80 upvotes and nothing happened
it needs to be very unlikely to get to full adult apex
without making apexes constantly starve
since that would be annoying and stupid
That's going into another direction, that's the growing itself.
What we need right now is a more fair environment for people that play in smaller groups or alone.
If they were to change it to make it harder, could people accept the fact that a lone Apex should easily 1v1 an herbivore Apex?
not easily
trike should be next to impossible to kill from the front
but more vulnerable from the back
if it spots you while you try to sneak up itshould be very hard for you to bring it down
but if you land a surprise attack from behind you should have a good chance of winning
If it's quicker to get and just as good, what's the point of going rex on a game balancing stand point?
Assuming they fix trike currently
To make it more of a match 1v1
I would be fine with trikes being easier to grow than rexes
As it stands currently?
I'd agree with you there
They need to be faster to grow if they are food.
even with locational damage and dino collision
apex predators should be very rare
but half the dinos I meet are either growing or adult apexes
and that should change
trike should still remain at roughly the same growth time, but growing apexes should face some extra challenges apart from finding an oro or a taco every 20 minutes
Now I agree with you, they are too common but say if there are less, and more rare, and herbivore apexes are much more frequent and just as deadly and easier to get, what would a lone Apex do if it comes face to face with a herd?
From a realistic stand point you're right
But from a game play perspective, why would I go rex if there is something just as good and easier to obtain?
That's all I'm saying
I find herbi life to be very boring as you do not have to do anything, but that might be an unpopular opinion
To each their own. Everyone has different opinions.
even if trike was stronger I would still prefer rex as you have the thrill of the hunt and you are not a slow fatass creature
then again it might just turn out to be like a couple of months ago
with every herd having at least 3 adult trikes with them
then it would be annoying to be rex
I'm only coming from the old days when a trike could 2v1 rex and rex took 8 hours to grow and trike took 15 min
That was totally unfair, but I was getting some of that from this discussion and it sent me back in the past into hell
But yeah it's hard to balance, we'll see what happens
I don't remember how it used to be tbh, the last time I had a full adult rex was on region 2
I had fresh adults multiple times after that but I always died to being dumb
It's all good, and yeah those were interesting times. Good discussion, you enjoy your afternoon.
Even now I feel like most people prefer herbis other than trikes, even though trikes are the only way your herd survives from apexes. I don't think that lowering apex limit would mean it's harder for solos to beat herds with 5 trikes or something; a lower apex limit means that people are actually more likely to play lower tier herbivores because there's less of a chance they get fucked by the first pack of 5 rexes they run into
It's a necessity for some to play trike right now, or else apexes just roll over herds with very little difficulty
I think you'd see more mid tier carnivores and herbivores if you lowered apex limit
I like playing midtier herbis but since the apex limit is so high on carnivore, I have to play trike or all of my friends and myself just die to the pack of 5 apexes every time
Maia Milk
^
Gyp
dino milk 😍
❤
Please get some help
do you see any sign of udders on a maia
yes

what is it
That would be legs
those can be used as an udder
Or a cloaca
emergency udders
if an animals cloaca is hanging like that, then their are some major issues going on.

dont body shame
open up your mind
ive got a handful of revolutionary suggestions
I'd rather not
i like to space em out, dont want to overwhelm anyone
mhm, it should fill the role of good mom
dinosaurs dont have milk
yes
milk would help with that
I'd see them spitting up food similar to cud just easier for the babies to eat- gross but more likely than udders XD
its already proven
theyre not mammals
it can help any orphaned dino children in the herd
Honestly, I kinda wanna know what other "revolutionary" suggestions you have.
Do crocidiles and birds produce milk the answer is FUCKING NO
dinosaurs lay eggs
its very nutritious and gives a small growth boost as well
maia milk should make growth faster
realism should be sacrificed for gameplay
the milk is also multigender, males can secrete it as well
yes
they can be good dads as well as good moms
Not when it's dinosaurs making fucking milk
I'm scared.
and crocs dont either
Stop whatever this is in the name of Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost.
Save us
hi aliens
save us please
If it's a legit suggestion, carry on as if it were. Don't derail/shitpost.
Hi granny's 😃
yes sir
my argument was just about to be that since platypuses can make milk from their skin, why cant maias
they have duck bills too
Thank you aliens, finally a voice of reason.
theyre nothing like platypus
Gypaetus platypuses are not realated to dinosaurs it's like saying your a lizard
It doesn't make sense
milk
im assuming these 2 are trolling cause they said dinosaurs are mammals
are birds mammals? no
are crocs mammals? no
Grannys did that Gypaetus isn't really saying that
i will stand by my suggestion, i believe they could be similar to a platypus
maybe multigender is going a bit far
What?
they have barely any similarities
Ngl it sounds 100% like scaly bait
Platypuses are realated to mammals
Just have to be honest
Not dinosaurs
Alright the suggestion was removed so we should stop talking about it
ok good
milk suggestion👀 that almost sounds as awesome as my diarrhea suggestion😳
Stop. Final warning.
👌
fine
Why do people want aquatics in when they are basically worthless
It would be cool
How exactly are aquatics useless?
as of now they are but theres no mechanics yet
now fully aquatic ones, that maybe a diferent story
I believe this is referring to Fully Aquatics
What you're thinking of is Semi Aquatics. I.E Sucho, Spino, and Deino
@blazing charm I was catching up on suggestions and saw the one you made about subadult carno.
I think a better solution would be non-linear stat changes over the course of growth. Right now dinosaurs have the exact same stat spread throughout their whole growth in a particular stage, and growing up is purely a power-up. If they were instead geared for different hunting styles at the beginning and end of each growth stage (with the full juvie and fresh adult having identical stats), the change over time would naturally prompt players to adjust their style without the need to insert an entirely new life stage.
In carno's case, one of that stats that would change over the course of its growth is the ambush multiplier. The fresh, 0.6 growth adult would have the same running speed and multiplier as the 1.0 growth juvie; but the multiplier would gradually fade with each tick of growth until it was finally gone altogether at full growth, completing that transition from an ambush predator to a long-distance sprinter.
I mean, that's perfectly reasonable and again, that will probably end up being the case. I was just offering what I felt would be a solution that would fix the growth problem, and the issue regarding the sudden shift in Carno's gameplay.
Right, and I was just seeing if I could refine the idea a bit, since there's a lot of dinosaurs who could stand to have a better adjustment period. 😄
We'll just have to wait and see what is planned for the reworked growth.
does anyone know if the growth rework is confirmed?
or growth change
or just make growth not suck
Nope
It will prob always be an afk sim
thats why I cant wait for path of titans
We all know the changes are coming
I just wanna know how is it going
And a rough eta
Waiting on smthing with little to no information is hard af
we're likely not going to get much information until it's finished, unfortunately. perhaps a few tidbits of info, but not much
I'd love to know whats coming
Ya same
god, I fucking love how he talks about how it won't happen and then mentions PoT, when the fucking reason we don't know what's gonna happen is because deathly's unoriginal ass consistently copies this game
Should have added a bit more info lol
Any chance of getting a 4th official server? Curious
No idea but there will need to be one once the big patches start dropping again @-@
they should make a thenyaw server
@paper oriole more small sauropods would be neat, but Nigersaurus isn't needed in TI
doesnt help that there's no justification as to why Nigersaurus should be added to the game
it's average size is smaller than camara (irl at least) and is about the size of saltosaur which was suggested to expand on more huntable sauropods
obviously more unique things should be added first but it'd be nice to see it at some point
so spend $5000 + just to add a new prey item?
not sure why you seem so angry about the suggestion was just adding to the saltosaur one on adding more variety lol
so challenging and criticising ideas = being angry now?
it's more so people should give full detailed justification on why a new creature should be added rather than simply stating "I like it" or "It looks cool"
may as well go "why do we need herrera AND austro when both are fragile dinos who can run fast and jump"
both arent confirmed for survival, your point?
they are dinos in the game
they were made during progression days
they are both vlad models which are very old
and their purpose was to differentiate different progression trees
Austro progressing to spinosaurids, and Herrera to everything else
Austro was planned to be able to fish and dive but development was halted on that to work on Survival mode. They do not accurately represent the current state of the game
and there's nothing wrong about suggesting a less powerful sauropod if theyeventually add more dinos later on in the game that aren't more strains for the carnivores because they are getting all the new things
problem is the devs arent gonna spend $5000+ just to add a free meal with no distinct gameplay value
Why It would be a free meal? Just asking
herbis need more high tier dinos viable for survival
soon carni will have three apexes
in survival
I dont really want niggersaurus but the "free meal" argument makes no sense
plus hypos, neuros, tissos, whatever else
nigersaurus was not a large sauropod, I dont see it being able to defend itself against TI's dinosaurs
- gameplay suggestions on why he should be added were not given, eg what special gimmick/niche he can fill
gues he could be a mid tier sauropod since we dont have one of those yet
like what a diablo is to a trike
or what a sucho is to a spoon
I just can't wait for stego
same
i hope theri is also on their list to bring to survival, theyre one of my faves
and a nice glass cannon
@still temple Adds more options for long neck lovers so they don't have to wait ages to grow one
Also theres only 1 long neck option atm
Not even survival
I don't understand the appeal in mid tier sauropods really, it eats up all the food and doesn't contribute much to any herd if it can't do decent damage to an allo
i mean we have 4 ceratopsians in the game right now (even tho only 2 are survival and one is the weakest thing in the game) so like why not make it a possibility at some point
avaceratops is literally just "free food" yet they did it
I thought there were only three
tacos are ceratopsians
at least i think they are one sec
Avaceratops was added during progression days
@jovial blade but I'm asking why Nigersaurus specifically
yeah, nigersaurus isn't really a big whoop
I'm sure you know that Avaceratops has been changed from playable to AI @paper oriole , he wasnt specifically made for being food.
just thinking if they expand on the families at some point and add more to ones who are currently lacking in having members in multiple tiers (like sauropods) it could be an option
but if they choose not to then that's whatever
just an idea
I'm not fond of the idea of too many members of a family in the game. It's like a bunch of clones running around.
yeah
appearance can be a factor, but functionality is the more important
Sauropods are a big group just like theropods(all carnis are theropods and even galli is theropod) so calling every sauropod a clone or symilar is saying dilopho and rex are clones
his functionality would be the mid tier (easier to grow) sauropod who also has a distinguishable appearance. but i know more unique things should be added first before just filling the blanks
if they ever decide to
there are better options out there
nigersaurus imo is not one of them, as neat as he is in appearance.
i'm sure there are, sauropods have many members in their group who both look good and would fill this slot
niger is one that appeals to me personally hence why i suggested him, he'd fill the mid tier sauro well enough but i know many may not like him. just an option
Plateosaurus could be cool(not really a sauropod but is an ancestor so is ok) as a smaller "sauropod"
he's a cool one, and easy to recognize
imo simply being "mid tier" does not justify it being added
^
@still temple No idea I'm just saying having more long necks in general is better
@lilac swallow That's not what I mean. I mean something like, if they added monolophosaurus, who's very close relative to dilophosaurus, what purpose or function would it have in the game? Almost none, since they're nearly the same. If they fill the same role, it would be a total waste of time and money because there's already dilophosaurus in the game. It's not a bad thing to have family members in the game, but you can't have family members in the game that don't have anything really unique about them other than maybe their looks.
while I disagree with Diablo and Maia, they already had models and animations
herbis need some love
not sth that has to be created from scratch
@shell willow fair
and adding nigersaurus would mean spending $5000+ on a creature that can be easily fucked by mid tiers
Why would It be that weak?
he's just a small sauropod
their health would be ok probably, but what are they gonna do, stomp you? he can try
Is a game when everytime someone Talk about reallism everyone say "no t realism game" why an mid size sauropod couldnt be sucho power level or something?
for nigersaurus, as long as you stick to attacking his neck and head, you'll be fine
Again i dont want niggersaurus but the "free meal" argument is stupid
Its tail is huge
@lilac swallow so what you're saying is the game should make taco as strong as a rex because it isn't meant to be 100% realistic?
I like diplo and apato but chances of apato ever being considered are 0%
Brachiosaurus
Nice
Yes TI isnt supposed to be saurian levels of accurate, but there are limits to how much you can tweak real life creatures
@still temple no, im saying that no one Cares about realism until they dont want something
brach is gonna be ai though right? I coulda sworn it wasn't gonna be playable
yea there will be brach AI, i'd assume it will be in sandbox tho so could be injected in survival
@lilac swallow a nigersaurus cant be too strong since he isnt a big sauropod to begin with.
I hope brach might be playable, it's just one of those things
feeding a brach would be a big no no tho
Might as well choose camara if you want a stronger sauropod
why force a niche on a creature that it's not meant to fill?
Im really more of the realism mentallity but you could make perfectly a medium size sauropod that have the same strength than current sucho
A good example of this was oversized cerato
I'd like to have a Land Before Time squad, a ptera, brach, stego, para, n trike
i guess any sauropod can fill the littlefoot role though
-Brach playable is my secreta dream-
Niger just doesnt have a lot going for it besides "oh look it's small"
I suppose amargasaurus could also be an option for mid tier, their spiny necks could be used for attack along with their tails
though i'm not sure just how durable its spikes would be if they could be used
it is lighter weight than niger though
the spines on its neck could inflict bleed, something not many herbivores currently have
Littlefoot was an apato iirc
Nigersaurus fills no niche, it's like alberto, you can give it all the crazy gimmicks that you want it doesn't give it a new niche
You could add Alberto as an animal that competes with Allo, congratulations you just made balance a nightmare because one will always be slightly better and that's the one that people are going to play.
Nigersaurus is the same except it fills the niche of free food when basically every sub adult and juvi does that for a fraction of the cost/time investment
@lilac swallow if you have to significantly buff or alter a dinosaur to fill a specific niche, you are suggesting the wrong dinosaur for that niche.
Case in point would be cerato rex, we eventually got the Right animal for that niche in the form of suchomimus
And other thing i just came up with, dilophosaurus was a small game predator and not a night Hunter, and in this game is so buffed that can hunt almost everything with a small group and have a un necesary night vision and still is considered good for the niche of night hunter+super bleeder, even though It was significantly buffed to fill that niche
And again i dont really want niggersaurus so is pointless for me to continue arguing
I think niggersaurus would not only simply not fit in as you said but also you already know people would be so toxic about the name it wouldn’t be very good for the game
niger could be replaced by Iguanadon just saying we need Iguanadon more than small sauropods
Yeah iguanodon is cool
But I feel like the game’s new dinos should go to lesser known dinosaurs as well.
Like you know keep the dinosaurs we have, but the dinosaurs that most people probably don’t know about seeing those in game would be cool
i would like to see baryonyx in survival tbh kings suggestion is good
i hate how people say he got no niche
Me too
He got the niche of fisher who is also fast on land, i mean, he fish but if he has to leave a lake and find another he can do it
Im talking about bary btw
the fishing lake watering holes are going to be a competitive spot where austros spinos suchos and deinos are going to be.
it would be nice to see a fisher who avoids competition
I still think that bary was a way better option as the smaller spinosaur than sucho
i think sucho serves as a good psuedo-apex
Bary is pretty fun to play already but his left thigh comes points off of his body more than the right and it’s really noticeable so we’d definatly need new animations
Or new run/trot/walk animation, pls leave the crouch animation it’s so fast and I love it
it could use old suchos run it looks great
Yeah
@keen trail @barren zephyr @lilac swallow misspelling the name tends to contribute to controversy surrounding the sauropod's name
I didn’t see anyone spell it differently
Ohhhhhh so it’s just nigersaurus?
Ok good good but I think people would still say stuff like “ha look at me in a niger” as in a shortened word for nigersaurus and new players may think they are being racist
Yeah I knew niger was a country
immature ppl will always make jokes, and ppl who fail to do basic research will always try to stir up controversy, just another day on the internet
tbh by using common sense, why would anyone name a dinosaur after a racial slur, and how would a name like that even be accepted in the first place
Ya kinda need more than "basically better than x dinosaur because y" to make your case.
I feel like deinocheirus should replace theri
Theres allready alot of dinos looking like theri

Deinocheirus may be "bigger" but that means new model, new animations and it's a dinosaur we don't really know enough about to even be sure how to model it correctly
Plus, how exactly is it better than Theri?
What about mechanics?
Wdym
have some concrete stuff, lad
What would be unique about Deinocheirus' gameplay?
just to make a theorical "Terbosaurus" model, it'd cost $7000
dont we have near complete skeletons of deino
Ive seen a Deinocheirus suggestion before and at least it had thought put into it
there's plenty of material to base deinocherius on
I think we have Arms, and some part of the feet
I think it's a ominvore
p sure we can get a decent reconstruction from these amounts of remains
Yep
Omnivores have been more or less debunked, try again
Debunkedm
omnivore
Oh boi, redflag already?
Look man, they say "maybe", but only if they can implement it well
What
which isn't gonna be easy
Also I cant really think of much in the isle that looks like theri
inb4 pull a Galli and make it herbivorous
So adding them in wouldnt bring anything new either
Gigantoraptor doesnt look that similar to theri
It's a awesome dino
gigantorap- what?
And what's the point of adding it
If theri si in
They will just argue
What does it bring
Also deinocheirus may have been a ominvore
well, there's a reason theri isn't in survival yet
the only unique thing it brings is that it won't have any issue growing
No, theri is the BEST BOI
o and deino is around twice the mass of Sucho
Deino is huge
Lmao
You would be op
I just feel like it would be more appealing playing it and being a ominvore and actually not being a glass cannon theri
there's already not much challenge for herbs atm food wise, so making something apex size that can eat both bushes and meat would be op
no bush? I can eat AI
no AI? I can eat bush
It would be very slow
and the thing with theri is that it's claws are its only mean of defense, so making a theri that is apex size and more tanky is just... well it's just broken at this point
Also that's how omnivores work
...What?
They eat meat and plants
...
Dude, being an omnivore isn't justification enough for adding a creature to Survival.
You need more.
I feel like you're just suggesting it because you're a fan of the dino, and not because it would genuinely bring something innovative to the roster
How is it unique?
And having a strong omnivore
Would be different
Usually omnivores are small and weak
Would be op*
so you basically asking for adding the roster's equivalent of a Grizzly bear into the game
like, omnivore, can eat anything
and super tanky with montruous damage potential
Again, Omnivores aren't going to be a thing, as far as we know
That would be a shame
Thats going to be spino except that spino is carni
Alot of cool ominvore dinos
And is not like finding food is not currently easy
it's not survival if you can just eat whatever trash's around
Didn't they say in ask a dev that omnivores might be a possibility
hunting
AI
like
Its suppose to eat fish
Plants
It wouldn't even have ambush
If it were weak It could be an omnivore but you are asking for a strong almost un starvable dino
Lol unstarvable
If you get lucky with ai
They would probably stick to eating plangs
Plants
Theri is ~ 4500kg
Lemme get this straight
you want a theri that has a spino looking back, that's actually tanky, that can eat bushes, carcasses and can eat fish, so possibly able to fish...
and as an APEX tier
do you realize how unbalanced that idea is?
Then what is the point of it being an omnivore?
A rex live perefectly with ais, and deino can eat bushes
Because it can eat meat when theres no plants avaliable
That's broken
Omni deino is too op
imo if they added AI such as lizards, frogs, small mammals, weaker omnivores could work who could only eat small creatures and plants (weak jaws)
a sort of opportunistic omnivore, pretty much, like how deer even will munch baby birds if they find them on the ground
but they shouldnt be able to eat off of large, intact bodies
so they wouldnt be going around hunting
There are allways plants available, and ut Will allways spawn an ai
Why would such a large animal be chasing tiny lizards around
Lmao
Look, a omnivore would mean something that can eat the food from herbivores
and can HUNT herbivore players
That made me laugh
im talking about weaker omnivores, not deinocheirus
it would mean the divide between the herb and carni mains is gonna be even worse than what we got
The only way I’ll see omnivorous deino working is that it’s only omnivorous when Juvenile and maaaybe sub adult. But it turns herbivorous when adult
That would be cool
I doubt they would even take in dinosaur suggestions
I feel like that have it mapped out allready
something like a gali would have probably eaten small frogs/lizards if it saw them
it wouldnt even supply much food, they would be encouraged to find plants instead
Yep
but just a thing they could do
And the oviraptor
eah i wish we had oviraptors theyre great
What is the purpose of adding omnivorous into the game tho
they could also steal eggs form other dinos nests maybe
Just because it’s cool ass
It's a completely new game play
But i still dont know why theri is generic, the only dinos that looks like a theri are its close relatives and even then no dino has claws with the size of theris claws
Or because it would provide something other tier couldn’t
That is the definition
Not why
They're small
Ur not getting me bro
I am asking if we have considered why should omnivores have a position in survival
I told you allready
Oviraptor stealing eggs is big meme
Its a new game play
And only by figuring why are we adding it we can design what kind of dinosaur we could pick from
Ok what new game play
Being able to run around killing players
The only omnivores I can see the devs even remotely considering are pterosaurs
Omnivores are small
And not even needing it?
Tapejara and Tupandactylus as omnivore pterosaur wen
A oviraptor might have trouble 1v1ung a Utah juv if it's not adult lol
oviraptors were desert dwellers, weren't they? they could possibly revieve small amounts of water form their food which many desert animals rely on. as juveniles they should need water regularly for gameplay purposes so they dont just hide away all the time at that stage but many desert animals survive off the water contained in their prey/plants
Eating meat and plants is not fair in the slightest. Food is supposed to be a challenge to acquire
Monkizu, I am not being rude I just want to tell you eating both meat and plant isn’t a gameplay content
Not rly, just cus Mongolia is a desert now, doesn’t mean that it was a desert back in the Cretaceous
well it isn't right now anyway
It is just a raw mechanism
Yes that is the point I am trying to bring out
Because you're food yourself and you also have to hunt
The game themes survival
the challenge of anything else in the game being able to murder you
since you are weak
As omnivore you dont have to hunt
But we already have gali for that
If you dont want to hunt then be a herbivore lmao
that is the basic foundation of Survival, that is not unique in the slightest.
Gali could be murdered by anything but it can run
And it doesn’t starve
But it can also hunt
An omnivore can hunt but dont need to
Thats exactly the problem
More then what
if it wants
Everyone would pick plants, because it is the easiest option.
gali also has a weak jaw with no teeth, so it couldnt eat large intact bodies. it would only hunt tiny prey and eat small gore
You are letting a dino who dont need to hunt eat meat
if it became omni
Maybe when in depth diets are a thing, omnivores could be reconsidered
But right now is a def no
yeah in the end it's all up to the devs
What if omnivores can talk to both carni and herbis
They can only talk to their species
But it is somewhat bad at running away
lol multi lingual dino
Lol
Carnis cant talk inter species so omnis at most would only Talk with herbis
I can speak trex
So it has to live off bigger herds
Let me in your pack
In that case, we're back at square one with Monk's suggestion offering no unique reason to add Deinocheirus
"i got an A+ in my spino-ish class"
Ya I know that’s why I am thinking of new ways to add omnivores
Well not ways
Reasons
Rex could use it as passive scout
Just not active
wat
local is only for same species is it not
And if they are bad at running
i like omnivores, just not large ones
They're allready small af
They could be useful to both sides
And die to everything
omni should be low tier to lower-mid tier if anything
Monk we are not against
Because they would be so incredibly easy to keep sustained
They would be tier 1 or 2
but i'd love to see them added alongside tiny AI
But we are saying there’s no good enough reason to add it
They're small @blazing charm
And I am trying to figure a reason to add it
Yet you wanted Deino to be an omnivore
i mean... why not?
But we arent talking about that anymore
maybe once affinity is a thing it would not be as easy, with the affinity lowering if you only eat one of the two for too long
it's weak, and was probably opportunistic
Gali would probably eat bugs
and it forces you to have at least some sort of mixed diet to not lower your affinity
Lizards
I really want to see oviraptors tho
And babies if it found some
Just stealing eggs all day long
Alrighty, so. Small tiny creatures that act as walking simulators where you either never starve, or get dumpstered because you are small.
I'm having fun already.
and some lil speedy lizards that'd be fun to chase around
Pffffff
You're literally always in fear
hey it's another thing to do is all
I am always in fear playing everything else
what's more interesting, eating stationary bushes?
What's the point of being afraid if you have nothing major to lose?
King your points are so pointless
Dryo
@jovial blade they were all added during progression days
But it's a different ah style
but the other ones aren't
Not everyone likes being a apex
And thus are irrelevant to this discussion
Because they have something going for them other than being an Omnivore.
plus who lives in fear while playing dryo
O wait nvm ignore me
Lol what
Dryo is still big gay
Being omnivore is something going for them allready
I will never understand the decision of adding Diablo, Maia and Dryo before Stego and anky
There are pleople that dont like to lose a dryo even if is only 30 min, they arent gonna be pissed like if you lose an apex but they still dont want to lose the dryo
Unique playstyles are somehow worse than being able to never starve.
What if omis are smart cookies and can imitate the last call they heard
Brilliant.
King a small herb that had 1 bush wouldnt starve either
What is your point
Just imagine oviraptor wasnt omnivore it was jsut a herb
?????
omnis dont really have reason to do it, unless it's the niche of one dino (like how ravens can imitate other animals)
All it takes is 1 bush for ages
Monk I get kings point
And they wont "starve
We dont
You just said we do
What playstyle allows eating meat and plants
Small herd
Yeah, because they found food. They're gonna have to eventually leave and find another.
honestly it would mostly be a flavour thing, an immersion thing
One bush
Wtf
Are you talking about
Like I said
Camara is nice cus we don’t have a sauropod, nor do we have an apex herbivore that can reliable fight back
they could add it to already existing dinos like why not
Being able to eat meat and bush isn’t a game changer
End of the day
You are just getting more food
And that
Hey king just answered his point
Is something we already have
Aonther bush just 5 meters away?
Why do we want game changing suggestions?
If it were an Omnivore, you would never starve because food would be EVERYWHERE
Everywhere?
I had the time to eat, and when I came back it somehow went worse that it already was
You missed my point entirely
Because that’s what you want when u add an entire new play style into the game
Omnivore = ultimate ez mode, and simply being omnivorous does not justify a creature being added
7
They still have to hunt
And sniff out bushes
Whilst being in danger
As a small dino
What?
How is that different from anything we have now
There are bushes every where and if by a remote chance you het hungry an ai would spawn just at your side
Hunting and sniffinf out bushes is on the same level to you?
being in danger is not a mechanic.
Except for they can use two animation to eat
I've allready answered that
what if the omnis coudl only eat the berries off the bushes and not the leaves, so they drain that resource faster (and the bushes remain useable by herbivores)
If it just ate the berries, then it is still a herbivore.
Sorry that it doesnt please you
Only way I see omnivores working is if they have to satisfy both a meat food meter and a plant food meter. Failure to satisfy even one of those will result in penalties
No moist is saying they can eat some of herbi food
But it won’t be a lot
So it will have to relay on other sources
^
That isn't fun though, that just sounds tedious.
yea
lets add more complexity to the FEEDING SYSTEM
gosh, fellas, I sure hope my $20 aren't gonna be wasted on something that isn't unecessary complicated
Hahahahaha
gore, eggs, tiny AI (frogs, bugs)
Bro
Lmao
The skin texture for every Dino worth’s ur 20bugs
I'm sure the devs would figure a balancing
That was sarcasm
If ominvores even get added
As what was mentioned before
But it would require a actual diet
Of meat and plants/berries
That sounds boring
Okay great now we figured out how it would not be op
And tedious to manage
Eating bushes all day sounds boring aswell
We just need to figure out why would anyone play it
But you can make it fun
So you never know until you tty
Try*
Plus being a oviraptor would be fun either way
Eating bushes all day sounds boring aswell
Gee, I wonder why herb players are complaining herb gameplay isn't really compelling
i mean, if some of us here want it then there are most certainly others who would give it a shot
Having more to manage doesn't equal fun.
so why not?
and it's been MONTHS if not YEARS that we hear about it
Well the team isn’t that big
And they are super detail orientated
So
It’s understandable
Herb gameplay is not challenging in the slightest atm (food wise)
Like carni are
well they got nothing else to go for so may as well make their food life easy right
You sit at the edge of the map and hunt ai
