You need to update your windows version before you can update the driver for the graphics card
You need to basically update everything on your computer
Download this, it's GeForce Experience. After install, it should check for driver update. https://www.geforce.com/geforce-experience/download
GeForce Experience automatically notifies you of driver updates and installs with one click, ensuring you always have the latest NVIDIA drivers and PC game settings.
After you update Windows
how can I bind my windows
Open up "Windows Update"
You're not making any sense at all.
windows update where ta ta?
Pressione a tecla do Windows no seu teclado e digite "Windows Update"
yes
and now?
update it
Check for updates
Clique no botão verificar se há atualizações
ok
pronto ja verifiquei
e afgora
OK
Okay, I checked it
and now

@amber tide here you go
Your graphics card is below the minimum requirements
and also needs to be updated big time
about the graphic card i played the game some time ago with it and it worked
maybe i have to update it
actually i need to update it
Yes it might have worked a while ago but new updates to the game/windows/steam make it invalid over time, you're lucky you were able to play with it before honestly
But the driver is also wildly out of date by 2 1/2 years
dayum
You can try updating the driver and see if it'll work after that, but it's below the minimum requirements for the game meaning if it ever worked, it won't work for long
ok, thank for the help
@vast junco No server found solution :
At the top left of Steam you’ll see a little button labeled “Steam”, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 1000. You may need to tinker around and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle.
anyone know how to fix the fatal error crashes?
i can get into game for a bit then it crashes
i have no mods installed
and ive reinstalled the game

Go to your Steam folder - Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Run the shipping exe
Let me know if it still crashes after that
ok ill let you know
thankiies
well its working so far
altho it was crashing when i was in a pack of like 15 utahs
on my own it seems fine
Sounds good, use the shipping.exe for now and whenever it happens you can report back 😄
Ok give me a sec
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
ill let you know how it goes my guy 😃
I’m assuming it’s going pretty good so far
Sounds good!

@amber tide happened again lmfao
That’s really weird, hmmm give me a few
okie dokie
) Go to Control Panel --> System --> Advanced System Settings. On the "Visual Effects" tab, select “Adjust for best performance"
- Ensure your desktop scaling (DPI) within windows is at 100% (not 125%, 150%).
Reboot the computer and let’s try again
how do i do the dpi thing?
By the way, has this ever happened before or has it always crashed since playing the game
its only started today
sadly
No idea why, all of a sudden just started crashing alot
oh, still crashiing
i really dont understand this
oh i cant even load the game now
lmfao
Did you update something today?
Hmm, I’m out of ideas, let me do some research but maybe @neat thorn has some ideas
altho
after the first crash
i got a blue screen
which i fixed
Image result for blue screen less than or equal
Symptom 1: “IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL
this
like literally
i load a server
Press the [Windows]+[R] keys on your keyboard to bring up the Run command.
In the "Run" command box, type in dxdiag and press <Enter>. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool pop-up window should appear.
Click on "Save all Information."
Save the information to your Desktop, copy/paste the info here in bits
Yeah
It works hahaha
I updated a PC driver
And now its like
"Lol it's going to work now"
how does updating an intel (r) internet driver fix this
nani the fook
Hmmm I figured they were all up to date since your graphics driver was, shouldn’t have assumed
im so confused
Having all of the drivers up to date affects a lot
Yeah that one is a big one
lmfao
Well that’s my bad for making you jump through the hoops haha
I can almost guarantee it’ll be fine now
😉
@amber tide guess what
ok
Okay have you been using the shipping.exe?
Try running the Isle in Windowed Fullscreen mode.
IF you're running in Fullscreen mode already, try Windowed mode
My friend who recently bought the isle is unable to join any server with v3 as the map, any known fixes?
If you can get him to post here that would be great as we need more specific info from him
@latent cedar
We need his full specs that he can get from this gif and paste it here
https://gyazo.com/8c1cac40ec65c922d4950386d9d19aba
well let us know how it works out, but you can also try both of the options me and lethalbacon have posted so you can try to play on that one server
Okay give me one moment to do this
Try running the Isle in Windowed Fullscreen mode.
IF you're running in Fullscreen mode already, try Windowed mode
Lower your shadow settings in the graphics part.
As low as you can.
@young badger
Sounds good Wiggly!
apparently official servers seem to work xd
Haha 😉

But the issue I have is whenever I enter a server with the Isle V3 map, I load just fine and come into the server, but I don't get any menu to come up. I just stare at the night sky and some land below, all working properly with really goodd framerate
@amber tide
I'm having steam verify file integrity to see if that works
Your graphics driver is out of date but you can try this fix:
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
Try that after updating your graphics driver
Got it
Is anybody having an issue where their game freezes for about a half second every once in a while? Idk if it is because of AI spawning or for some other reasons, but every once in a while, my game freezes, but you can still move your dino because you can end up tripping or stumbling over a rock while freezing.
That is AI spawning
Thank fuck.
😉
However if you play for an extended period of time, there sometimes is a slight memory leak which is fixed by restarting The Isle, but it would only happen after HOURS
By memory leak, you mean laggy frames? Yeah, I get that.
Yeah
Oh okay, so if that happens, I just need to wait until the AI are all spawned in?
His question isnt related to your issue
Oh woops 😐
It works! Thanks @amber tide
Sounds great! Glad I could help 😉
guys, i get brutal freezes for the first 10 minutes after i start my game, it freezes for 20 secs, then it works fluently again, and repeat. during the time of the freeze the dino keeps on walking in the direction i was walking before, so sometimes it just keeps on going straight for the freeze, walking off a cliff. after about 10 minutes the freezes stop and it works fluently for the rest of the gaming session. This only happens for the Isle.
i reinstalled the game, updated my drivers (geforce 1080ti, ryzen1700x) still happens. anyone experienced this too?
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
wow that was fast, will try that, thanks a lot 😃
Let me know how it goes, have a few more things for you to try if that doesn't fix it 😄
thats really kind, thank you! took me a while to find "change folder and search options" 😄
😉
i am not able to find the white search bar after activating "show hidden files"
The search bar at the bottom of your screen
Where you search for folders/files on your computer
you dont mean in the explorer window?
cause i cant get it to show up on the taskbar
oh sorry
You got it?
i got it, i gotta open it by going on "search"
i thought it ought to appear automatically
ok i got it
"the Isle" folder is now empty
Okay restart the isle
yep
seems to work for now
anything else i gotta do? can i reactivate autorecord and stuff?
You should be all good to go now
thanks a lot mate, just imagine i buy you a beer 😄
Hahaha, getting you back on the game is good enough!
this really seems to have worked.. thanks! so.. the folder i deleted wasnt deleted by reinstalling the game i presume?
Nope
nvm it just happened again :S

Your graphics driver is outdated, you need to update it
I'll try that x.x any way I can get it to tell me when to update the thing? This has happened before so i'm just facedesk
If you download Nvidia GeForce Experience, it'll have pop ups and tell you when new updates are ready
Also open up Windows Update and make sure you're not missing any other updates
👍
It has to be running
Just leave GE running in the background
Oh and you should look into Instant Replay.
ahhh. alright
Is having issues connecting to the Official US 2 server. I keep getting the Host closed the connection and I'm unsure what that means and how to fix it. I've restarted steam and the game at least twice now.
Open an Administrator level command prompt
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
Type ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Reboot your computer
@hardy tinsel
the problem of the fatal error I come back denovooooooo over
he will appear again
@amber tide
HELPPPPPPPPPPPPP me
Question, I usually have about 50 to 60 ms latency on servers located in the EU regions, but on The Isle EU 2 I have about 100ms at best, is there something I can do to improve this?
Nope, that’s the location difference @short rampart
@restive breach what do you mean stuck
i relogged and not stucked anymore
👍
hi overpowered! sadly the things you told me to do didnt help, i still get the supercrazy freezes at the beginning of my gaming session
do you have anything else i can try?

Your driver still isn’t updated
i just copy pasted from above 😃
Oh
sorry wanted to write that but got a freeze 😄
Your whole computer freezes?
Put the game in windowed full screen and change the res to 1920
will do that
If your entire computer freezes, it’s something by your computer
Did you set your shadows to the lowest possible setting?
No, GTX 1080 is known to have issues with Shadows in Unreal Engine games
Turn them as low as you can
oh ok, thank you.. i will try it with low shadow settings. the sad thing about the low shadow is the flickering though, gives me headaches.. welp
In Game settings
that should help with the flickering? it doesnt, sadly
Turn vsync off and turn off smoothfps and make your fpslimit something other than 0, 60
When i turn on auto recording in my settings my screen looks like I have some bright gamma thing on. This only happens in-game (so not on the server list or anywhere else) . I've seen others having it on without any trouble, so it should work for me too?
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
@split sand
👌🏼
@amber tide My issue is resolved. thanks 😃
Sounds great! Welcome back to The Isle!
overpowered thanks for the tip! i changed it back, sadly, the low shadows dont make a difference, i still get the freezes.. :S
i talked with some people on our discord, and one person seemed to have had the same problem that I had, he said its the auto record
i now tried it and didnt have any freezes for the last 15 mins, could that be it?
Yes the auto recording is still glitchy and will be worked on sometime after the recode
oh okay 😃 thanks a lot! i am happy if i dont have to bother you again..
sad that i cant use the ingame recording anymore, but still better than not being able to play
Thanks a lot for your time and effort!
No problem, glad it's all sorted and welcome back!
@honest river What do you mean why are the servers closing?
Well, I did not manage to find the US server 1,2 and 3
Open an Administrator level command prompt
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
Type ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Reboot your computer
Try that 😄
hm OK I'll try tomorrow I think I'll go on another game thank you as you
i go other game see u later friends
Okie doke, let us know how it works, enjoy your day/night
yes thank you for the pleasure of talking to you or playing with you on this beautiful game that is the isle hihi good night all
Hi, I'm asking for my girlfriend here. On her computer she has been getting random crashes. Sometimes after 5 minutes of play sometimes after 2 hours or more. It just crashes to desktop and gives a "ue4 fatal error" message. I can't find any answers of what could be causing it on google so now I'm asking on here.
i7-860 cpu
amd hd 7950 gpu
Driver update for the GPU needed most likely
Well I tried updating it through windows because I was getting crashes from a bad driver or something along that lines, Ended up totally wiping her computer and reinstalling windows on it fresh.
Go to AMD's website for it
Windows drivers for GPUs are terrible
There are some drop down menus to choose what you need
Ah my bad there. Just saw that it installed the amd drivers and didn't even think to see if they were the up to date ones. I'll get that setup and see if it fixes her problems. Thanks.
Oh hi

Its a joke trying to run on this right?
DO you get a Cooked Content error when you try and launch?
Sorry if i wasnt clear. I can launch but its VERY laggy
Yeah, this would be why. Set all of your in game graphics settings to low and try reducing your resolution
ok
not much to do but try that and update your hardware
how can i do that?
Buy a new laptop or desktop, preferably
Ok
Any suggestions for a new desktop?, I am planning to build my own desktop what kind of graphics card, Motherboard etc.. should i buy that could run The Isle well while not being too expensive
Look at the recommended requirements as that’s a good place to start for getting new desktops 😃
Recommended requirements for The Isle?
Yes

?
lmao
It's still doing it unfortunately. Ue4 engine has encountered and error
fatal error

Not sure why it says 1024 vram though. Should be 3gb
One of the drivers isn't updated. Make sure you check all the drivers on the computer and make sure they're up to date. Try opening "Windows Update" as well and make sure that the os is good as well
But the vram would be an issue too, especially if you're saying it should be 3gb
Which driver isn't updated?
For windows updates it should be good it's a fresh install of windows 10.
Fresh installs still need updates sometimes, but to be honest, the graphics card is under the minimum requirements to play the game. Try putting all of her settings to low
Well, I have a 280x coincidentally that we were using when this started. And I thought it was maybe the card dying so I swapped it out for the 7950. And the 280x is on the steam page as the minimum
I would suggest putting the 280 back in, grabbing the pc specs again and posting them. It might be outdated or one of the drivers from the computer could be outdated.
Everything needs to be updated to stay playing the game correctly. But like I mentioned before, try putting all of the settings back to the lowest, but definitely put the 280 back
Yeah will do, one of the reasons I took it out was because one of the fans wasn't spinning so my thought was "this card is overheating because of it" but I think it spins with one fan until it gets hotter? Anyway, I'll try and get all the drivers sorted out and then return if that doesn't solve it. Thanks mate.
The game should make it nice and toasty so that's weird if both don't spin, but yeah definitely get everything updated, put everything to low and try it 😄
If it doesn't please come back!
Random thought https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/579889294102233088/580217214095851560/unknown.png I was looking at speed fan and noticed the psu 12v was only putting out 10.56v do you think it could be the psu failing?
https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151096 is the psu in that computer
I don't know that is consider software reliable for reading voltages but it could be yeah
Failing or too small
620 watt should be plenty
Yeah. The supply itself should be giving around 12v so just a stray thought. Still working on getting all the drivers and then going to have her try it out again with the different gpu put in.
im having a issue when i join isle servers it tells me "kicked from the server Host has closed the connection"
Open an Administrator level command prompt
Right click CMD - Run as Admin

Try that 😄
@shut fossil Reset Controls/Controls not working properly | Method Two
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.

@neat thorn all of my files are 'show hidden'
Did you follow the first part of the instruction? It should make them visible
So show hidden then?
can someone help me whenever i try joining a server it says you are kicked i just downloaded the isle after a year in my new pc. please help. i tried clearing net or dns cache, deleting saved folder and reinstalling isle please help.
If you're encountering an issue with the game that you'd like assistance with be sure to provide your system specifications, which you can find using this gif below:
@bitter lotus
So, when I bring up the replays from a game session I've got various models sprinting sideways and moonwalking. I guess I just want to know if there's any troubleshooting I can do on my end to fix it or if this is a widespread issue at the moment.
Replays are broken currently
There’s not much you can do except use a third party app to record
@fiery hazel
Thank you
Actually you know what @fiery hazel there’s maybe one thing you could try
Give me one sec to grab the info
Save your recording out to a different folder on your computer, then delete the SAVED folder, then re open The Isle and when the new saved folder is created, paste your replay back in there
It might work, or it might not
How to get to your SAVED folder:
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
Thanks, I'll give it a try.
It probably won’t work still since recordings are buggy currently until they rework it after the recode but it’s better than saying no it won’t work flat out

Need to update your drivers
They’re out of date
Also like you said, you’re kinda toeing the line on low settings and eventually with updates it’ll stop working over time
I have updated them manually like 3 times lol. I even did a fresh install of windows just today to see if it would help. So am i done for? lol
They’re not updated, your graphics driver is over a year old
Download nvidia GeForce experience and it’ll download the newest update
It’ll also warn you when new updates are ready
Huh... I just installed the newest one earlier wth...
I'll try it out and see if it works
When you download them you have to install them after
I promise i have 😂
Download nvidia GeForce experience and it’ll download and install the newest update. Your graphics driver is still showing from March of last year
Installing it now <3 preciate it!
😃
Your best bet is to upgrade your actual graphics card as the 550ti was barely good in 2013 so you might not be able to play anymore
I know its super outdated, but i was playing just fine on high settings until sunday when the crashes started
I've lowered the settings and have been working on fixing it since and i just cant seem to do it. No money for a new pc/updated parts atm so i'm stuck
Changing the power settings to balanced let me be in game for about a minute longer than usual though
Yeah it needs all the power it can get to try to run the isle. It could barely play bf4 on low so it’s quite interesting you said you played on high
Its been well cared for 💙
But the update for the graphics driver might give it more juice but it’s a ticking bomb and will stop running the isle with more and more time/updates
I think Sunday might’ve been the last day you played the isle until you can get some upgrades. 6+ years overdue but let me know if the update lets you in for longer
It wont update any higher than the 3/27/2018?
There’s no more updates for it?
So i'll open up the program and it says critical update for game stream, so i go to the drivers tab and it says it up to date?
Looks like they discontinued support for it then.. I’m driving home right now so when I get home I’ll try to search around but if it no longer has updated, you’ll need to upgrade the card to play again 😐
-devastated- Okay. Thanks for the help!
@honest river Sorry, it looks like they've stopped providing updates for the gtx 550 ti... which means no more The Isle until you can get a graphics card upgrade
Imma crawl in a hole then. Looking up some new graphics cards in the mean time. I appreciate the assistance and you deserve cookies <3
You can double check all drivers on your computer to make sure that they're up to date, even drivers that don't make sense to affect it will affect it and all need to be up to date
Sorry =\
Try this and see if it works: Go to your Steam folder - Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Run the shipping exe
@honest river
I will in a minute. Thank you!
Gives me the kicked from server error, host closed connection
Open an Administrator level command prompt
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
Type ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Reboot your computer
Try that now 😄
Resetting the computer~
🤞
Nope, same crash
@honest river Are you able to revert the last windows update?
like a recovery thing?
click Start and then Settings.
In the sidebar, choose Recovery.
Select why you’d like to go back to a previous build and click Next. If the link is grayed out, you didn’t select a reason from the checkboxes above.
Click Next once more after reading the prompt.
i do not have a backup? it just says reset and advanced startup
rip, alright give me a little bit, me and lethalbacon are brainstorming
You guys are so sweet
When an update doesn’t go as planned, roll it back. You can do so within Windows, or, under dire circumstances, you can roll back an update from safe mode or when using the Windows Recovery Environment. First, if you can get into Windows, follow these steps to roll back an ...
Try those steps
Also update your java version as well, since the game uses json files
Launch the Java Control Panel by clicking the Java icon under System Preferences.
Go to the Update tab in Java Control Panel and click on Update Now button that brings up Installer window.
Click on Install Update.
Click on Install and Relaunch.
Yay, alright keep us posted
Do i need to run the shipping.exe again or just the regular launcher?
Try the regular launcher at first, if nothing then try the shipping again
Aaaaaand another nope
For both?
Its weird. I load in to the dv test level, and can play just fine for a minute, then it freezes and then crashes
Yessir, both
yeah the test level barely has any resources in it
Same for the other maps as well, i just load quicker into the test level
All the settings are on low correct?
Yussir
I've even turned the rendering down, cause i was getting that error at one point too.
Alright, we have to brain storm some more. The only thing that's killing us is that it was able to play until sunday.. Sunday changed something or the card has just finally hit its limit. I know the card could barely run battle field 4 in 2013, so it might have just played it's last song
We'll keep brain storming and tag you if we have anything else to try, again i'm sorry!
No, don't be! I really very much appreciate all the effort you guys put in to help me! I figured it was doomed from the start but it never hurts to try a few more things. I'll be back at the isle in a few months when i can get some better equipment <3
It's just weird that it stopped working on Sunday
There's only 1 gig of VRAM on that card, is everything on low?
Try lowering the resolution also
I know, everything was fine. I didn't install anything new, update anything, nothing changed. Yes, everything is on low. Cut it in to windowed mode? I'll see if it helps. Cut the res down a bit.
Alas, still is a no
I do have a question. Do you think a new graphics card would fix it entirely? Is that the only issue that you guys see? I know the whole system is low grade, but its not -terrible-
The problem is that The Isle is a resource intensive game, so systems older than two years have a huge hard time running it. The system itself is still low but the graphics card is a huge huge factor, it only has 1000 vram and could barely run games in low settings back in 2013 (I know I’m repeating that a lot 😉
The upgrade would be huge for the graphics alone
I dont really have much of a choice lol. At this point my tiny notebook could run the isle better than my desktop 😂 BUT i can sell my notebook and put it towards a new card. Thats pretty much all i got atm. The isle has been a huge thing for me and i dont wanna give it up JUST yet 💙

The computer is using integrated graphics which the isle doesn’t support. You need an external graphics card to be able to run the isle, which means your computer is below the minimum requirements to run the isle
@bitter lotus
My pc keeps freezing a lot, anyway to fix it?
I've played the isle for about 1 or 2 years and it never froze
But it started freezing a couple weeks ago
Too the point I had to do a hard shutdown
If you're encountering an issue with the game that you'd like assistance with be sure to provide your system specifications, which you can find using this gif below:
@sly trail

And its a good pc
Your graphics driver is waaay out of date
Go to the manufacturers website and download their latest update for it
Thanks
I guess it was good for the old Isle
But when the revamp graphics it slowly died
Freezing in game or at the loading screen?
The r9 200 series likes to freeze on windows 10 while playing games.. best bet is to lower settings to the lowest, definitely get it updated and switch the game to windowed full screen
Well, it may be the AMD processor also
This is a Pinned Message
If you're encountering an infinite loading screen while connecting to servers, or a connection timed out error a potential solution was found by Looter, results may vary from person to person.
First off, right click The Isle in your Steam library > left click properties > local files > browse local files > TheIsle > Saved > Config > then go into the WindowsNoEditor folder. When you're inside the folder, download the Engine.ini file linked
Place the Engine.ini file into your WindowsNoEditor folder.
After you've placed Engine.ini into your WindowsNoEditor folder, simply launch your game and see if you can connect to a server. If you're unable to join a Thenyaw server, try one with V3. Some maps may work, some may not.

Could be, but I know a lot of people have the same issue with the driver specifically pertaining to windows 10, but yeah try what bacon posted as well please and let us know
@sly trail
I don't have infanite loading screens, so i think its my graphics
@amber tide Installing the auto detect now, what do i do after its done?
The fix he posted also could fix your issue since it’s an amd processor fix as well. But once it’s done installing, run it and install any updates it gives you
ill try yours first
@amber tide Okay well, its installed so what now. There is no "run" button
It’s a program, go to where it’s installed and it’ll open and have a button for auto detect
Yeah i did that, and it wanted me to install it again
these are the only things that show up, but i installed it
Did you go into the folder and install it from there?
The one with the black symbol is only an unpacker
Express
oki
Is my screen supposed to blink?
Also it restarted my pc
mk im back
nothing changed
;/
@amber tide
welp ima play
You broke my pc
Cant even run the isle anymore
It could run it
And now it dies when it joins a server
Thanks a fucking lot
That is a needed update for your graphics card... nothing is broken
What happens when you join a server
When you update a graphics card, yes the screen blinks, goes black and restarts.. that’s part of the update process.
Ah sorry
Couple weeks ago i noticed it but it got more frequent so thays when I posted my troubleshoot
On that day, it had froze 2 times in 20 minutes
And I installed it from the folder, what now?
e
I was the one recently
If you've installed it from the folder, reboot and repost the computer information so we know it worked
reboot steam or my pc?
Your PC
yes please
oki

Glad we got it working again, we would never do or tell you to do anything to damage your computer. Welcome back to The Isle
Okay so, apperently my pc keeps shutting of for no reason
Its not over heating
And it happens mainly when trying to join an isle server
Scan your computer for viruses
mk
I dont think I can
Since it shuts off frequent
And that stops virus scans
I'll try not to use the isle
Yep I cant
It just shuts off
I dunno what to di
Do
Try running it in safe mode
My game does this when I join a server, I didn’t have this problem a few days ago but now I do, I tried reinstalling my game but didn’t fix it. I don’t know what’s wrong 😭
Freezing at the loading screen? AMD processor?
Yes
DO you get to the character screen?
Nope
Ah
I already have a Dino on the server

Emmm
Follow it step by step, if you get lost let us know 😋
How to get to your SAVED folder:
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > Saved
It’s still doing it...
You followed all of lethalbacons instructions and it’s still doing it?
It just keeps you at that screen, correct?
Restart the isle and try joining
👍
Sounds good, welcome back!
Hey, sorry for late reply, my dad's a computer genius and I asked him to look at it ^^
And what’d he say
updating motherboard driver / bios, can help with random shut down. The "fast startup" feature on windows could also play a part in this iirc

<@&505047238674874368> Is it possible to know why I got kicked from EU 1?
What was your IGN?
It's a host closed connectin issue
@gleaming rain start with this: Steam Subsystem Error OR No servers showing.
Open an Administrator level command prompt
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
Type ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Reboot your computer
If that doesn't work try this: Go to your Steam folder - Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Run the shipping exe
Thx I'll try
And lastly, this: Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
@neat thorn thx first solution worked
Sweet!
i'm getting a "host closed connection" issue for the first time ever. what do i do?
Open an Administrator level command prompt
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
Type ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Reboot your computer
@ruby vale
it didnt work
when i refresh the server list after attempting to get in, it shows no servers found. then i exit to the menu and it says "connection has been lost" or something like that
completely random
@amber tide
After you did the flushdns and restarted your computer and re opened the isle, what happened exactly
started up like normal. it was only until i tried to get in a server that the host closed connection happened again
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
it seems to have fixed itself. thanks anyway!
Sounds good, welcome back!
scent isnt in my settings and i cant use it on any server that has it enabled, but i can see others using it. any idea how to fix?
@modest marsh Reset Controls/Controls not working properly | Method Two
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
i cant record with t at all, and i cant find it in control settings
Correct, the recording in game is broken. It’s disabled with official servers and you could try to use the auto record on other servers
The recording feature will be addressed after the recode is released 😉
ah thanks
You’re welcome ☺️
is there a way to completely wipe my game's data from one computer
bc fucked up my controls so bad i cant control anything to fix it
nvm the previous question fixed it
whats the fix for ''Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. ''
@sudden shore what's your GPU? it usually means your GPU doesn't support Directx11+
@pale pike NVIDIA Geforce gtx 560
gtx 560 should support dx11, try updating your drivers @sudden shore
Like paco said, you just need to update the drivers, it’s more than likely your graphics driver being out of date
@sudden shore let us know how you fare
@pale pike @amber tide I did update them, its not happening as often but it still did happen once
Can you follow this gif and paste your pc specs?
Also, try this step as well:
Go to your Steam folder - Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Run the shipping exe
But be advised, the 560 is below minimum requirements
So change all of your settings to low, and try running it on windowed full screen
ok Ill try that and see if it makes a difference

@amber tide
Yeah you’re under the minimum specs, it has 1000 vram when it needs about 3 and your graphics driver is still out of date by a year, unless that’s the last update they’ve done for the 560
yeah thats the last update
Yeah unfortunately there’s not much you can do about that error then except to upgrade your pc
which specs to be exact?GPU?
Yeah but you’d be better off upgrading the whole desktop since the i5 will shortly be a dinosaur itself
But if you can only do one at a time then definitely upgrade the gpu
The gtx 960 is the minimum gpu, but also you can set everything to low, put it in windowed mode and see how that works
If it doesn’t always do it, that’s a win.. if it starts to do it all the time then you’d have to upgrade whenever possible for you
Im planning to get a gtx1050,would that be enough?
alright then,thanks for the help
getting a, hopefully, false-positive “trojan” warning from the isle’s win64 shipping, dunno why it’s popping up today when i’d just played last night as well, but everything is coming up clean according to my anti-virus, and i’ve seen similar happen with other games. it’s just annoying to have the alert pop-up when i’m refreshing servers
Not really sure, never seen anyone have that issue
It should be added to your exclusion list anyway so it won't stop the servers from popping up
according to my reading, it can happen with games like this when the data packets are going to what the antivirus may see as suspicious, but most threads were for games like fortnite, but with the same base issue (the win64 shipping being blocked for one reason or another). just was wondering if its an issue others have experienced?
Nope, no one has reported any issues like that
@shut kayak Please post this in #401465476661641217 along with the Antivirus software you're using
really ? =O I would love to know how!
What are they trying to do
Engine.ini file
Add this at the bottom
[Audio]
UnFocusedVolumeMultiplier=1.0
That will allow sounds while alt-tabbed
@limpid shore
thanks ♥
I see someone beat me to it 😃
To allow background sounds while alt-tabbed:
Engine.ini file
Add this at the bottom
[Audio]
UnFocusedVolumeMultiplier=1.0
the game seems to crash every time I start it. After a few seconds in the main menu a message pops up saying "fatal error". I tried checking for problems in steam. Any suggestions what I could do?

Your graphics driver is out of date
If you have the Nvidia Geforce experience app, open it up and let it download the newest update for your card.
If you don't have the app, I would highly suggest downloading it
It will notify you automatically whenever there's an update
ahh thank you^^ especially for the quick response you're doing such a great job ☺ 👏 👍
No problem, let me know if that fully fixes it 😄
it works ☺

OMG YES IT WORKED, TYSM ❤
Paco wouldn’t steer ya wrong!

It's Unreal Engine, should be fine. Provided your hardware is decent

thanks Bacon
Well, hold up here

So for about a day I have been having trouble with my game. I can get onto a server, although it is very slow to. As I get on I can move my screen around to see however as soon as I try to move the game freezes. Any advice?
I think this is a problem with my computer at this point bc now everything is freezing up. Sorry for the trouble
Boot it up in safe mode and scan for viruses

It's using your integrated graphics instead of the graphics card
And even your integrated graphics are out of date
Open the Nvidia Control Panel. You can do this by right-clicking on the desktop or you can find the option within the notification area of the Taskbar.
Select Manage 3D Settings under 3D Settings.
Click on the Program Settings tab and select the program you want to choose a graphics card for from the drop down list.
Now select the 'preferred graphics processor' in the drop down list
The only card available is the 2070, my onboard graphics are disable.
Steam is using your integrated graphics as shown in the text you pasted
Go to the NVIDIA Control Panel by right clicking on your desk top and clicking on "NVIDIA Control Panel".
In the default screen that pops up (it should be "manage 3D settings", and the "Program Settings" tab should be automatically selected), under "1. Select a program to customize:" hit the "Add" button.
From here, navigate to the folder where your steam games are located. For me, it is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common.
Select the folder for the isle, and find the .exe for it. Select it and hit open.
Then, under "2. Select the preferred graphics processor for this program:" open the drop-down menu and select "High-performance NVIDIA processor".
Finally, hit apply in the far bottom right corner, and you should be good to go
There's no preferred option available

Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.

That is listing an integrated graphics chip, do you have another GPU installed in your machine?
There is a 1050ti listed there also. They need to use the Nvidia control panel and change the 10:50 to the primary card
And also update the driver for it because it is over a year old
Ah I see that now
Connectivity issues could be a result of security settings or your internet connection. If flushing the DNS didn't work I would look into those.
Also, reducing the Max Pings/min setting in Steam may give you a more consistent server list
I updated all the drivers, it does not help.
You were told to change your driver to the nvidia gpu, right now you’re using integrated graphics which doesn’t work with the game
@smoky anchor
can u still do a ALT account for the game?
You mean family sharing?
Family sharing was disabled. Please see the #announcements channel for an explanation.
okay thanks :c
Alright so i play on this server called the bio isle and when i look it up this morning it says no server found. Plz help
Open an Administrator level command prompt
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
Type ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Reboot your computer
Ok has this problem occured before?
It happens to people randomly, it's something to do with your connection
hold up
netsh winsock reset
Enter them one at a time
oh
Did it work @open thistle
Yes but not bcus of code its cuz it just happened overtime
i tried ur thing
it didnt work
how do i fix the constant echo sound like im still in building?
A constant echo..? Never heard of that before. Are you using speakers or a headset @paper kite
Headset. It happens if I go into the building at docks or my camera goes anywhere near it. It acts like I’m still in the building even though I’m far away from it
howcome i get 60fps in 4k and my friend get under 30 .. he have nvidia 1060 with 8gb i have titan card.. but still i have 1060 on a laptop and its fine there on 4k
he try copy my settings
nm he used wrong hdmi port.. 1 have 30fps limit.. hdmi 2 have 60fps limit:)
.. thats why i avoid hdmi and use DisplayPort
Because he only has a 1060
That is a very low end 4K card
Also The Isle is CPU and RAM dependent heavily, moreso than GPU
And I just read the last part of your paragraph....
XD
@limber rock Reset Controls/Controls not working properly | Method Two

Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.

At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
Uhh
You said you can't sniff?
Won’t that mess up my game
nope
Mk
All it will do is reset your controls
So if you have custom keybinds you'll have to re-do them
That's it
@wintry widget Pretty sure this will fix it

I'll try it asap and let you know. If my post doesn't belong in bug-reports feel free to remove it and thanks for your fast help.
I acutally found the path after you reminded me of %appdata%
\AppData\Local\TheIsle\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor -> then open Game.ini with Notepad++ and delete any Steam64 ID in "MutedPlayers" which you don't want to be ignored anymore. 😃
Thanks again! ^^
YW!!
@river helm No server found solution :
At the top left of Steam you’ll see a little button labeled “Steam”, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 1000. You may need to tinker around and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle.
Or if that doesn't work
Steam Subsystem Error OR No servers showing.
Open an Administrator level command prompt
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
Type ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Reboot your computer
i just did the cmd thing... pc just rebooted
