Oh, for power that's normal. If you hit the Performance tab, what's the utilization?
utilization was at 80-90 %
I'd say that's normal
ok thanks
sorry for the late response @neat thorn but when i launch TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe nothing changes
What happens if you right click it and Run as Administrator?
Nothing changes too.
There is something on your machine blocking it and we can't find it.
yeah.
CHeck your HOSTS file, it should be blank but if there's anything else in there delete it
Press the Windows key.
Type Notepad in the search field.
In the search results, right-click Notepad and select Run as administrator.
From Notepad, open the following file: c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts.
Make the necessary changes to the file.
Click File > Save to save your changes.
i mean i got the hosts file but there's nothing inside it
what can i do then.
😦
here's something for another game. Replace SQUAD with The Isle and follow it. Including the %localappdata% part. We've already done the winsock thing so ignore that. Basically, delete local saved data and turn off IPV6
Do you believe me if i said "it still doesn't work"
cuz it really didn't
Incredible.
I have an idea just for grins and giggles. Friend me on Steam, same name as here. Then go to the steam server browser and try and join me in game
Okay
Sorry that didn't work
And you've already reinstalled both The Isle and Steam correct?
@void otter
And you had McAfee installed before this?
Did you just uninstall it from the Programs list in Windows?
Wasnt exactly sure where to post this but I figured this was the most appropriate section, Im also fairly new to Discord so forgive me if this is is the wrong spot. But I was wondering if anyone has had ANY success trying to play on Mac?
If so, download this and run it to remove any and all remnants
@left harness Mac support was removed due to an incompatibility with Unreal Engine and Mac OS
So does that rule out programs like Wine and PlayOnMac?
It may be possible using WINE since other Unreal Engine 4 games can run under WINE.
But there is no documentation here for it
Gotcha, Ima troubleshoot then. Thanks!
What game?
ARK
Did you run the McAfee uninstall tool I posted?
yes
nope
it's definetly getting more and more broken
tho, when i can join the server in ark via steam server browser but then it say "unable query for invite"
my pc doesn't like unreal engine games
@neat thorn
I love how this issue cames straight out of nowhere.
Well, ARK uses the same 27015 port that The Isle does
This is third party software but it has been checked by Virus Total. Might be worth a try checking ports 27015, 27016, 7778, 7779,7777
what am i supposed to do with what you sent me?
Nothing, I didn't realize that was PayWare
Seems to be tied to these two ports since both ARK and The Isle use them. 7777 and 27015
make sure those are open in your modem/router and also Firewall
k
yeah, they are open
@neat thorn
this is really dumb, issue that cames straight out of nowhere and makes two games don't work
I mean, as a last resort you could Roll back WIndows to before the issue happened but you may lose data doing this.
Find out how to reset your PC, go back to a previous version of Windows, or use media to reinstall Windows.
@neat thorn after resseting the bios it runs with no problems at all so its fixed
thank goodness it wasnt hardware
also with everything included shadows on epic
@edgy owl That's awesome! Must have been a setting in there that wasn't playing nice
yep..thanks again for taking the time to help me sort it out
You're welcome!
i have had a bug where my scent and my tutorial skip button doesn't appear also it comes up the controller key binds as well as the keyboard controls and its like mixed into both off them also i dont have a controller to use for the isle so i dont know why that happened either ive followed youtube for advice but nothing has worked i has re downloaded the game that didnt work and when i deleted a save file like it told me to do on youtube now everytime i download the game to see if the file comes back theres no save data what the hell do i do
<@&401466542140817419>
Need to delete your save file data
C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\local Delete The Isle folder there
have already done that
May need to enable HIdden Files and Folders first though
okay
In Windows Explorer screen, click View, Then Options on the right. In the new Window choose Show Hidden Files and Folders
it doesn't work now
What doesn't work?
Ok, you need to start THe Isle and log into a server
okay
kk
i can't seem to find the server
i have played in the past but can't seem to find it as it was a quite a while ago
it doesnt show me the hidden files option
View - Options - Change folder and search options
In the new window, click the View tab
Then Show hidden files, folders and drives
what shall i do now
Try to sniff
k
doesnt seem to restore my saved folder
What do you mean? What is your issue? No sniff?
yes
Don't worry about the folder as long as you've deleted it. If you've deleted it, start the game, go to a server and see if sniff works
i tried just that and it still doesnt work for me
Hmmm, Ok stand by
ty for the help btw
You're welcome!
Does it show in Keybindings?
Do you sniff and nothing like the compass shows?
not even annimation
Ok, try this next
it doesnt show in the keybinds
Go to: \Steam\steamapps\common\The Isle\TheIsle\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
and delete the INPUT file inside
The start the Isle again and try to sniff
i dont have the save file
This is a different location than the first one, in your Steam fodler
*folder
You can also get there by right clicking The Isle in Steam, choosing Properties, and then Local Files tab and Browse Local files
i know, i dont have the saved file there
just binaries and content
game over for me i guess
In Game, if you hit Escape - Settings - Controls - and Hit Reset, does it show after that?
nop
Is your Saved folder back in the Appdata after you loaded the game and logged in to a server?
still no saved folder after logging into server in the game
No saved folder in the hidden Appdata folder? Are you sure?
nothing
Log out of the Isle and restart Steam if the Appdata/TheIsle folder is empty. It shouldn't be if you're in a game.
@icy smelt in here
What were you doing when you saw that? Loading or playing the game?
@neat thorn Sorry..
I just launched the game and it happens
Go to Steam - Help - System Information and post the results here
Appreciate that!

Video card is up to date. That's a good start. Any overclocking on your system? RAM, CPU, GPU?
Nothing no
Can you look in the Event Viewer around the time this crashed and look for a Red Exclamation point and post the error?
It will be under either System or Application in Windows logs
Do you have any MSI software installed like Afterburner or their Network program?
Yes, click WIndows Logs and look under Application. It will take a minute to laod
*load
Look for a red circle and something to do with The Isle
Spellchecker?
I don't understand your question
I have errors under System and the source is DistributedCOM
Not that, something else
DCOM is on everyones computer
ON the Right hand side you should be able to filter by Critical
It's sorted after time and date, and the most recent is DCOM
CLick Filter on the right and choose only Critical
Kernel-Power
It was way before i even tried to launch the game
Hmmm, Ok
Latest Kernel Power was at 19:40 and my first attepmt at launching the game was 2 minutes before i posted the error
Try the Installation section
There should be an entry in there for the UE4 crash
Ok, what about the first section, filter by Critical?

@median mortar Steam -Settings - In-Game - Max server pings to 1000
Hmmmm, maybe it's not set for logging then
I think I have an idea what the problem might be.. Not too long ago, i got a new storage disc in my pc and simply copy/pasted my steam games onto that one.. But all other games are working
@icy smelt You can try Verifying Game Files. Steam - The Isle - Right Click - Properties - Local Game Files - Verify Local Game Files
Already did that
Then I doubt it's because you copied and pasted your Steam folder. Last time I saw this someone had overclocked their RAM by accident in their BIOS. Your drivers are up to date, is WIndows?
I'll just do a clean reinstall I guess
i fixed the problem now for me at least thank u Lethalbacon
Yeah I'm running W10
@median mortar Steam -Settings - In-Game - Max server pings to 1000
Without something in the Event Viewer it's really hard to diagnose without a trouble code
Let's try one more thing @icy smelt
Go to your Steam folder - Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Double click that to start the Isle and see if it crashes
Welcome @median mortar
D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\The Isle\Engine\Binaries\Win64
Only has CrashReportClient
Yes
Wrong folder 😉
D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\TheIsle\TheIsle\Binaries\Win64
There is another The Isle folder in there. 😉
Ok, I would make a shortcut of that to your Desktop and launch The Isle from there
Thanks man! You're amazing!
Right click - Send to Desktop!
Isle, hire this guy!
You're welcome! Have fun! 😃
B-b-b-bacon
ty
Welcome!
Is there a reason that none of the Official EU servers won't show up? One of my friends can find all of the US, but none of the EU.
For No Servers found or Missing Servers from your list, Go to Steam -Settings - In-Game - Max server pings to 1000
@wraith raven
You're welcome!
im still a bit unsure since I’ve gotten several different answers for it, but am i able to host the isle on mac? i have a late 2015 iMac, if that helps at all. apologies if this isn’t in the right channel
No. Mac support has been removed. Sorry!
no worries, thank you! ^^
I'm having trouble nesting. Yes, I know, go on a flat surface and spam B or click and spam B, but I don't even receive the 'you cannot nest at this location' message. I've tried relogging, resetting my keybinds, everything. I know other people are having this issue, too, but...
Am I screwed until the next hotfix?
Try deleting your sved folder in appadata.
Saved*
C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\local Delete The Isle folder there
@tepid saffron
For sure!
Hey can anyone help me? Sometimes the connection breaks so I have to rejoin a server. But when I want to it says, even with general servers that no servers can’t be found?
Hey, simple question, can anyone tell me why I get FPS spikes in menu's, primarily the dino selection/colouring menu, can run the actual game at a smooth 60 but for some reason when I'm in menu it drops to 0 FPS for a few seconds. Not unplayable but a bit jarring
this could help you find more server @lucid spear
No server found solution :
At the top left of Steam you’ll see a little button labeled “Steam”, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 1000. You may need to tinker around and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle.
@steel basalt if you own an AMD processor it might be linked to that
https://steamcommunity.com/app/376210/discussions/17/1780513643843541491/
So for some reason the game says I’ve been kicked from every server, I get into the game for a couple of seconds then it says I’ve been kicked and the owner closed connection. I’ve tested this on the offical and non offical servers, any idea of what to do?
Steam Subsystem Error OR No servers showing.
Open an Administrator level command prompt
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
Type ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Reboot your computer
Ight I’ll try that once I get home
I'm on an Nvidia card
Mine does the same. Most likely CPU load rather than gpu.
the thing is i formatted my pc and nothing changed. @neat thorn
Also, looks like this issue only comes to unreal engine games
@rigid cloak did you ever try bacons suggestion yet?
oh
Nah, I’m still at school atm
@void otter you formatted your pc and it still does it? Thats gotta be a hardware firewall on a switch, modem or router then.
You don't have msi killer nic or anything do you?
It's software for your internet connection
It may come bundled with a driver from your mobile manufacturer
How do i check if i got it?
What WiFi and Ethernet hardware do you have? You can find this in Device Manager - Network
Network adapters?
Yes
BlueTooth Device (personal area network) Bluetooth device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI) Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 Realtek PCIe GBE Familty Controller
@neat thorn
Don't see anything odd there. I'm still thinking it's in the modem or router. Fresh I stall would have killed any bad firewall settings or software.
And you aren't on a mobile connection, hotspot or public WiFi right?
Yea
If you formatted your pc and it's still having the same issue then a software update for your router most likely changed a setting internally which is blocking you
Are you having issues playing other games?
What security level is your router set to?
@void otter
For most other users with the same issue, their ports weren't opened.
You must open the ports: 7777, 7778, 27015, 27020 from the configuration of your router.
This is a free portforward checker which you can verify that they are actually opened
Welp no need to try what bacon said cuz the problem fixed itself by the looks of it
yay
@amber tide
lethalbacon already made try this portfoward checker
u actually gotta pay
W e l p now the problem is back
Alright well time to try to resolution which should fix it
Open an Administrator level command prompt
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
Type ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Reboot your computer
Ight will do
Should I type of netsh windsock reset and should I type it with ipconfig/flushdns?
@amber tide, that program isn't free. I should have deleted that link, sorry!
WInsock, no D
Ipconfig /flushdns first
then netsh winsock reset
Oh I was looking at links myself, wasn't even looking at the one you linked
Should I press enter after typing Ipconfig/flushdns?
Yes
Ight
Ew
shite accidentally clicked shutdown instead of restart, should I just do it again or?
Just start it back up
Ight
Anything happen @rigid cloak
Looks to have worked
Ye
Alright so I was logging out and waited for my timer to be gone before i hit log, and i clicked it, but right after i clicked log my screen got froze on the green AE loading screen, does that mean my body stayed in or did i disappear as soon as i hit log?
I was lagging prior to this so i was trying to restart my pc to try and fix the lag
As long as you clicked the button and it depressed, then you will have logged out. Even sometimes after lagging out, some people instantly disappear as if they logged out
You waited for the timer, you won't be ingame.
Even if my game froze?
As long as you waited and pressed the button, you're fine
Even if your game froze.
Okay thanks
has anyone found a solution to servers not showing up in the menu yet?
Trying to get onto US 3 and chatting with people on the server
but the server won't show up in my menu
At the top left of Steam you’ll see a little button labeled “Steam”, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 1000. You may need to tinker around and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle.
If you're trying to get into US3 make sure the official tab isn't checked and type in the name as "Official US"
They were doing something on the backend and it accidentally lost it's official tag
Please just type in the name Official US and it will pop up
thanks kindly
You're welcome 😃
How do I open an admin level command prompt in steam?
What exactly are you trying to do with the command prompt
Open an Administrator level command prompt
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
Type ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Reboot your computer
im just trying to do that
That would be for your computer not steam directly
So you would go to your search bar, by hitting start
No problem, glad I could help!
😉
Yeah he got it 😉
Missed that, you got it!
Can not find any official servers still.
Uncheck the official tag and type in Official US
If it's only the official servers that you can't find
You can find everything else but official?
Yeah
delete your config files, open a start menu and type %localappdata% then hit enter, find the "The Isle" folder in the list and delete it.
Next in steam right click squad and go to properties, then go to the Local Files tab and click the "Verify Integrity of Game Cache..." button, Test that out and see if you can find servers now.
If not, in Steam -> Settings -> In Game options there is a dropdown box for "In-Game Server browser: Max Pings/minute. set that to 500 and see if you get servers now.
If not try opening the command prompt as an administrator and running the following commands:
netsh winsock reset
ipconfig /flushdns
Then reboot your pc and test the server browser again
Did the last one already, should I do it again after the rest of the items on the list?
yeah for right now
Hopefully this works, weird that only the official servers don't pop up
trying the last thing on the list agfain
only thing that shows up is "Isle Official Testing" which im not sure is even legit.
Are you searching for the servers?
Open your steam client, Click on "View" from the top left, go down to servers, Change Filters, change the game to The Isle and search for it
And see if they pop up in that list
Only non officials there
Go to Steam -Settings - In-Game - Max server pings to 1000
Is anything else checked in the filters when searching for servers?
Alright set the server ping back to 1000 after you deleted the localapp, that usually fixes it for everyone and that would be the issue
%localappdata% Right?
Yes
Might have to enable Hidden Files and Folders first
Open an explorer window
Click View
Then Options on the far right
IN the new window, click the View tab
Show Hidden Files and Folders
It's a hidden folder unless you've enabled it
Yay!
No bother at all, we're always happy to fix issues, hope you enjoy The Isle again!
Hello, so whenever I try to launch the game it crashes after like 10 second of loading. Any help?
Just tag me please thanks.
Eating dinner, be there on a few. :)
Have you ever been able to play the isle before, and if you could link your pc specs please
@honest river
I have been playing The Isle for a long time,
Inspiron 15 7000 gaming
Laptop
No touch input detected
Dell Inc.
The rest of it too please
Follow the gif and paste the specs please
Ok
Please make sure all of your drivers are up to date as well
Something might have gone out of date and is preventing the isle from working correctly

Hmmm....are your nVidia drivers up to date? They aren't listed there.
Also, make sure your primary display is set to use the GTX1050
Since steam is showing the Intel card I suspect it's not using the nVidia card.
Hello again, sorry for the wait I was looking for the NVIDIA drivers it took a long time. Then I noticed that it is actually their.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050
And my primary display is set to use the GTX1050
@neat thorn
So wait, are the drivers up to date?
Yes
Looks like it’s using your intel graphics card, and the driver is out of date by like a year
What? But it says the NVIDIA card, it’s shows
It’s also in steam
It says in steam and in files
Interesting, when you linked your specs it was using the intel
Go to your Steam folder - Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Run the shipping exe
It should be in your C: Drive under program files
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\TheIsle\TheIsle\Binaries\Win64\TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Or in your D drive, whichever you installed steam to
Can’t find it after like 30 minutes
Open your steam client, go to settings - Downloads - Click on Steam Library Folders and you'll see where it's located
is that popup new?never seen it before but it seems alot of ppl started getting it
What pop up, the ue4 crash?
yes
No it’s not new, it could be from a plethora of things. Whether some driver isn’t updated to something as simple as verifying the integrity of game files
I looked there and it’s not showing up where steam said it was
I’m tying to find this “TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe”
@amber tide welp, I think I found the problem
So, after searching through my files for like the entire night until now, my family and I found something called “ReShade.” I’m not sure what it does, but apparently it’s supposed to make the game look better or something? I don’t know how I installed it. But it made the isle crash and not able to launch. What ever it is, I’m not using it anymore.
Ah, yeah reshade is a way to change your visual settings, like gamma, exposure; things like that. Glad you figured out you had reshade though
Oh gamma? Isn’t that not allowed anymore
Nope
Editing gamma is not allowed
Ok I’ll have to tell my friend because they used gamma so they could see while playing(he has a potato computer).
Yeah, playing with gamma touched all the way up is a big no no and counts as an exploit which is a bannable offense, but I'm glad your issue was fixed!
Mhm. Doesn’t it like beat the entire point of the night cycle? You can see like it’s day when it’s night.
Yes
You're welcome, hope you have a good night/day!
You too
So I keep getting kicked from all the official servers a bit after logging in. It says I've been kicked by the host?
Open an Administrator Command prompt by typing "CMD" in your taskbar search box and right click > run as administrator.
Once the command prompt is open you will want to enter these 3 following line:
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
netsh winsock reset
Then restart your computer and re open the isle
@plain axle
What's the error say exactly word for word,
Doesn't read as an error, it reads as if anti-cheat is kicking me, but I don't know what might be triggering it?
Well I'll deal with it later. I've got to go for now. Thanks for the help.
it mention anti cheat? might wanna take a look at your steam profile to see it there is a VAC ban that was recently added
@plain axle ^^
Nah it didn't mention anti-cheat, but I can't imagine what might be kicking me. It would have to be a person.
Here is what I see when I get kicked.
Also no VAC bans on account.
Thanks, I'll try this a bit later.
Please make sure it's also added to your AV/Firewall exclusion list
But no problem, there's usually always someone online available to assist
Kicked from server is actually the netsh winsock reset fix
winsock reset was part of Overpowered's suggested solution
dunno if that "origin port" yall figured out for kenson could play a role in this?
Release renew just pulls a new IP address from the router.
Im hella bad with networking issue unfortunately I cant be of much help other than the known fixes
@plain axle The fix for this is to open an Admin Command prompt. Type ipconfig /flushdns. Then netsh winsock reset. Then restart. Please note the first command is different from last time.
At the risk of tempting fate I think I'm gonna declare this troubleshooting successful. I haven't been kicked yet, thanks @neat thorn
@amber tide Thanks to you as well.
@pale pike The good news is you tried to help so thanks. 😃
Glad we could help!
Hello, i was wondering if anyone knows where to find the video recording so I can make a report. I'm not too sure where to find them on my pc.
Go to %localappdata%\TheIsle\Saved\Demos
If you're trying to view it in-game, go to replays
But as a little warning, the regular record does not work, it has to be set for auto recording as some people have issues
So it might not be there for you
from 10 min I am getting 3 times this error on EU1 Unreal engine 4 crash
@tidal panther what are your pc specs?
Please follow this gif to copy paste them https://gyazo.com/8c1cac40ec65c922d4950386d9d19aba
Recap of my issue :
I can't find any servers, it says "no server found"
Little note, i can't find any servers but they show in my steam server browser also, this issue only appears in unreal engine games.
(Like ARK, and the isle, those are the two games where i got the issue.)
Side note : the issue appeared after a windows update.
-Tried various solutions : (none of them worked)
-Changing steam max server ping (5000,3000,1000 etc)
-Updating Drivers
-Verifying integrity of game files.
-Setting a firewall exclusion for the isle.
-Running the game as administrator.
-Seeing if my router ports are open
-Turning off my firewall
-Uninstalling my antivirus.
-Unistalling steam and doing a clean reinstall of everything.
-Running cmd as administrator and doing netsh winsock reset ipconfig /flushdns and restarting my computer.
-Checking if the ports are open in my router.
-Deleting a file located at : c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts.
-Formatting my pc (AND YES, IT DID NOT WORKED)
-Trying to run TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe as an administrator.
-Trying with Ethernet.
So we're down to a few things then: Modem/Router firewall blocking, Some other program installed and blocking, ISP blocking
I'd suggest a factory reset of your modem/router
If you're comfortable with that
Typically there's a button on the back that will reset your modem/router to stock settings. Including login username and password, ports, IP addresses, etc. However, if it happened after a Windows update, do you know which one? Did you install it again after a fresh wipe and install?
Nah i didn't.
So we can rule out that Windows update then
What motherboard do you have?
So I can check the networking info

gaming center
no GameFirst iV installed?
nope
K, checking something, stand by
Uninstall it
Looks like it does provide some networking changing that be interfering
*may be interfering
oh wait my bad none are installed
Gaming center isn't installed, you're sure?
have you gone here and downloaded the latest networking driver for your laptop>
gaming center isn't installed
Latest network driver from ASUS installed at the link above?
Device Manager - Network Adapters - Right Click - Properties - Driver - Check the date
Check the date against the one from the ASUS website I linked
yup, got the last one
Can you DM me a list of all the software you have installed? Screenshots of your Programs list is fine
apps and features an then?
Yes
You can hit prtscr on your keyboard and paste it to him or a good program is light shot that will allow you to select a specific area of your screen to upload into a link instead of saving it
Windows 10 has Snipping Tool also
Snipping tool is basically the same thing, and it’s already on your computer so yeah that’s a great suggestion
how does it work?
Hit the windows button search for snipping tool and open it, it’ll be the same thing where you select a specific area to create a screenshot
What's the KB number on that Windows update?
how can i see it
Grab the spacer bar at the top and slide it over. The divider between the columns at the very top,.
40kb
somehow even sliding it over doesn't even allow me to see the full name
oh
wait
i got it
KB4023057
Ok, that's an update for Windows Update......go figure. Shouldn't be interfering. Are you on the internet at your home or a college campus or dorm or?
home internet
k
Well, here's another test if you're up for it. If you have the ability to go somewhere like Starbucks or other public WiFi source, it may be worth it to see if you can see servers there. If you see servers on a different internet connection, we can narrow it down to your ISP or modem/router. I'm down to very few options right now.
Not a bad idea
Hey, so I know nesting isn't disabled on the official servers, but B is doing nothing? I've tried everywhere, both where nests are and are not supposed to go. I don't even get the error message that I can't build a nest?
and I've triple checked my dino to be sure. adult female
@subtle fox Thanks it worked
came back from my friend house, and it didn't worked @neat thorn
So I'm curious and not sure if I'm doing something wrong here. When I tried to host a server last night so me and a few friends could play privately, it didn't seem to let them join. Is this because it was a random private server and not a dedicated one or did I do something wrong?
The Host button in game is a single player server only
If you want friends to be able to play, you'll need to set up a dedicated server on your PC or use a hosting servince
@verbal nebula
Ahh okay, that'd explain it then lol thanks @neat thorn
Welcome!
@honest river in here
Can you take a screenshot and post it so I can see the exact error?
sometimes it be like that
I'd suggest checking for Video driver updates
just updated on sunday actually
Ok then!
If it becomes a problem where it won't fix itself, let us know. I have a workaround. 😃
all good man, thanks for being on top of it
Welcome!
Anyone else severely rubber banding/tping all over the place now? All of the sudden everytime I move I start pratically flinging everywhere
Start spam biting for a while, some users have been able to fix that issue by just biting
@candid wind
I'll try it, just logged out due to how bad it currently was
Have you played the game before or is today the first time logging in
long time user, thankfully it worked just by leaving and re-entering
Sounds good! Welcome back
Some users experience a memory leak when playing the Isle
^
Next time this happens please check your RAM useage and let us know so we can report it
@candid wind
I'll be sure to if it happens again
If you play for a good amount of time, it tends to leak over time for some people, but like he said just check it and report back please. Enjoy the rest of your time
I've never experienced it but some folks have
me neither, but i edited it to reflect "some people"
I stay at ~500 MB for hours
OH yeah for sure
It's just nice when you can replicate it
@wicked owl need help?
Uhm, whenever I alt tab, my Isle screen freezes. I have 2 screens. any solution?
Whats your cpu usage when it happens, and have you ever tried it with only one screen
trike here looking for herd/ trikes
Wrong channel 😉
oh shit
btw lemme check my cpu usage
how do i check that haha
and no i havent tried it with one screen
If you hit ctrl alt delete, and click on task manager -> Performance
Try it with only one monitor active and see next time if it freezes
Since the last patch i´m not able to use my setting to see the player name. Spectator mode is working but i still cant see the players...
@stray grove You should try to delete your saved folder to reset all your keybind , it might help getting it to work again.
Type %localappdata% in your taskbar search box and press enter .
scroll down until you see the folder ''The Isle'' and delete it .
thanks, but how do i open the taskbar again? i dont need it that much -_-
taskbar i meant your start menu , if you have it hidden it should appears by hovering your mouse over the bottom of your screen ( or wherever you last put it)
@stray grove I just checked and it seems like the option to toggle name on and off is no longer in the keybind option but the button for it still works , which is the DELETE key
so it means if i put it before on 6 it doesnt work but with the delete key
you mean it's working now with the delete key?
glad it worked, it's unfortunate that the option to change it is gone though.
since yesterday my game crash something with d3d ... I updated my drivers today but when i log in EU1 and my dryo sniff the game freeze and crash . On EU2 I can snif with maia no problem. I tried 4 times and always crash when i sniffing with the dryo
0x00007ffc923eaa24 ntdll.dll!UnknownFunction []
0x00007ffc8ea89252 KERNELBASE.dll!UnknownFunction []
Try nuking your APpdata folder
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
done but the game now crash 5 seconds after I log in EU1
without even sniff
Fatal error:(file unknown) line200 Ureal Engine is exiting due D3D device been lost (error:0x887A006 - 'hung')
Close The Isle and try this
Go to your Steam folder - Common - The Isle - The Isle - Binaries - Win64 - TheIsle-Win64-Shipping.exe
Run the shipping exe
To fix this please reset your system’s Winsock connection settings by opening a Windows command prompt as administrator (go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories, right-click on “Command Prompt” and choose “Run as administrator”) and entering ipconfig /flushdns and then “netsh winsock reset" (without the quotes). Reboot your computer and check if your problem is fixed now.
If you're a Windows 10 user simply type "CMD" into the search bar at the bottom left, right click "Command Prompt" and select "Run as administrator", then continue following the instructions above.
Do it again
it's the fix for the subsystem error you're getting with the different exe
okey restarting now
after restart i died with the dryo and reborn with allo for any case for now is okay. Thanks for the help @neat thorn
How can I get my game iterate through all servers? I often search and nothing gets found, and later I do get hits. Filters are off
At the top left of Steam you’ll see a little button labeled “Steam”, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 1000. You may need to tinker around and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle.
Thanks buddy works like a charm 😍
Welcome!
yeah he can @neat thorn (sorry for the VERY late answer, i got sleepy and slept on my deskop)
SO that narrows it down to your laptop.
@void otter This will sound really stupid but I've come across cases of people getting empty server lists because they had a space left in one of the search boxes on their server list screen. Did you happen to check if that could have been the cause?
Nah nothing is checked
Read again please. In the Search terms box, check to see if you've accidentally left a space in there
Like, brushed the space bar when clicking your laptop mouse
I don't understand.
Click inside the Search box and hit backspace a few times. if there is a space in there it won't find any servers
Sorry, where it says Server Name make sure there isn't a spac
Same for Game Mode and Map box
okay.
@dark stag What's the issue exactly?
You get the UE4 error window?
and that is?
What happens when it crashes? Just poof gone or do you get an error window?
its a error window its stand that we lost it. we have checkd the server while some of us have playd, its still runing and you can joine it pretty fast after it crashd
Lost Connection to the server? Host closed connection? Kicked from server due to host closing the connection?
This is probably the fix for it
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.
we wil try that thank you
If that doesn't work we can try something else too!
okay we let you know if we change back and it dose not work thank you 😃
Welcome!
All I've got at this point is it's something with your Steam account or your laptop hardware/software. We eliminated your network because it didn't work at your friends house either but your friend could get on
And given that ARK has the same issue......and you have almost no other software installed, I'm lost on where to go next.
Out of curiosity, can you use the HOST button and start your own offline game?
yeah i can
also, i can invite friends to my game and they CAN join it
@neat thorn
weird, isn't it?
You have no idea......
You've done both of the below since the install? If not, try it again.
Steam Subsystem Error OR No servers showing.
Open an Administrator level command prompt
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
Type ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset

Send me a link to your steam profile? DM it to me or use my steam name, same as here
i use the same steam name
uh
i mean my steam name is the same as discord
sent u the steam profile

@unkempt moth Please ask your question here, not in the screenshot channels

ok i'll try thanx
Welcome! If that doesn't work we can try something else.
something is seriously wrong with my isle update
as it updates the size keeps increasing
That's a Steam issue, it does that sometimes. The only recourse is to let it run and do what it needs to do.
nope gotta reinstall the whole game and I have shitty internet
yaaaay
fuck steam smh
You can try shutting down Steam and restarting it
Also, if you have any old mods for the game back when they were allowed, remove them and try again
Typically when this happens Steam can't verify some files and is replacing them.
@void otter Last ditch effort: Go back to your friends house. Log into your Steam Account on his machine and see if it works.
If this works, there is something up with your hardware/software.
Ok, imma see first if he lets me
ON your laptop. Might be worth getting a different wireless card, something cheap and USB to try also
make SURE if you do the wireless thing that you disable all other network adapters in Device Manager
Another option is to log in to your friends account on YOUR laptop at YOUR house
oh, i tried this one
That would rule out account issues and narrow it down to specifically your laptop
SO your friends account, on your machine, at your house didn't show servers either?
no it didn't
Ok, that answers that question
So, here's what I'm down to
Modem/Router blocking you
internet connection setting/driver on your laptop blocking you
that's all we have left because you have a fresh install
i think it's 2 second thing (internet connection setting/driver on your laptop blocking you)
but i dunno why
Do what it says, verify game files
Open Steam Library- Right click The Isle - Properties - Local Tab - Verify local game files
I did
Now it’s updating
But I already had ran the last update
So I don’t know why it’s updating again
A file got cuorrupted in the last update most likely
SO it's redownloading what it needs to fix it
Don't worry about it. Let it run it's course and try again
Um, the Dev?
We don't work with all the Devs, they have more awesome things to do like work on the game. 😃 I'm just a lowly Discord mod. 😉
Oh yeah I know, I was talking about the other devs working with him 😋
HAHA! IN that case, you are 100% correct!

I think nests are getting a bit buggy
I keep trying to place one and its not even saying you can't place here
idk why that worked but it did
@neat thorn I ended up having to do the complete reinstall, now the server shows without changing modem/router info.
Complete reinstall of Steam or Windows?
of The Isle
OH awesome!
Put that in as another potential fix maybe. 😉
Glad it's working! Someone else here completely reinstalled windows and it's not
simply uninstalling and redownloading the whole game.
A reinstall is last resort, I haven't run into that except with you yet but I'll add it, thank you!
Anytime 😃 did it last night, it showed. this morning it still showed. I'm on a pc break for a few hours, then I'll try again.
getting unusually high ping, any solutions to this?
In game and server browser ping aren't really accurate
How high is unusually high?
@reef wind
HOw long has The Isle been running?
this session? Less then 30 mins
Ok, probs not the memory leak then
You can try resetting your connection.
Open an Administrator level command prompt
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
Type ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Reboot your computer
👌 thx for the help
Did it help?
ye it did, thx 🙏
Awesome! That fix is actually for something else, good to know it works for this also!!
@gusty badger hey, post the issue here again and I know lethal is really good at helping resolve issues. I’m currently out so I can’t
Okay, so please tag me when you're able to help, Lethal. My issue is that I haven't been able to play my game in a long ass time ever since we got a new router, I feel like I've tried everything but still when I load up barely any servers come on, and the servers that do show up are mostly completely empty and it changes from having no servers show up, to max about 12. I feel like I've tried everything. And I know that it's an issue with my router because it seems to work perfectly fine at my dads house, but I never visit my dad so I can never play
When you're free to help, we'd have to get into a call because I'm hopeless at this
Try this:

dunno if this is the correct chanel to ask but does more ppl on the server = more ping?
or is it just my end shitting itself?
Yes it does.

@neat thorn ^tried having him play with the vsync in the nvidia control panel to no avail, not sure what fixes for freeze
GPU is well under the recommended spec.
Turn the graphics settings down.
1030 is barely better than integrated graphics unfortunately
It's also on Express 4x rather than 16x. It's just a tad underpowered and gets overwhelmed
I already did this, before the lasts updates I played The Isle in all graphics settings in Epic with 60-70 fps without lag
Roll back your video driver then. See if it helps.
maybe that is ocurring because my game update only 41mb and not 1.6 gb?( in the last update)
ppl said the last update was 1.6gb
having that problem again @neat thorn lol
that same server stopped showing a couple days later
:/
this does not make the slightest sense, I reseated my PC with hope of solving the problem I was giving in The Isle when it opens the Skin screen the game simply breaks, the sound gets strange and starts to crash a lot
I tried everything, checked the game folder for steam, reinstalled the game twice and reseated my PC reinstalling all the drivers and the problem is not solved
@neat thorn yes Amd fx 8300
for anyone with the issue in the character screens, try starting the game with -nosound in steams launch options and let me know if the freezing stops
Hi , I have this crash all the time
D3D device being lost. (Error: 0x887A0006 - 'HUNG')

@neat thorn How do I do this?
@neat thorn It worked, but now I do not hear any sound in the game.
@honest river remove the -nosound line and then
Current Workaround
This workaround will let you get in-game and play.
Goto the settings screen on the main menu
Goto the audio settings area
Set audio quality to Low
Lower all audio sliders to 0%
Apply settings
Join and play on servers normally
Once fully in game, redo your audio settings
@neat thorn oh ok thank you very much
Welcome!
@modern bridge Open an Administrator level command prompt
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
Type ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Reboot your computer
Is there anything i can do to resolve only 1 in 3 bites registering? I've got a ping of 70 to the servers
It's all in the timing. It may be the case of the other person having a high ping too.
Whilst I'm able to get all servers with ease, a friend of mine has trouble finding even 1 server and has to refresh multiple times for a server to appear once and then go again. We've tried changing the max results but not really sure what other ways we can go about it
Hang on, let me post something
No server found solution :
At the top left of Steam you’ll see a little button labeled “Steam”, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 1000. You may need to tinker around and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle.
That's been attempted?
Let's do another one
Steam Subsystem Error OR No servers showing.
Open an Administrator level command prompt
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
Type ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Reboot your computer
Alright, will give it a try - thank you!
Welcome!
@tidal panther hmm do you have any set launch option?
@left saffron in here
Open an Administrator level command prompt

Type ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Reboot your computer
alright thank you
Welcome!
im trying to put down a nest but it's not letting me. No message appears and I am female
Hit the bite button and then hit B afterwards, it'll appear
that so weird. thanks tho
Glad to help! 😉
Do you know if The Isle server hosts (like PingPerfect) have the ability to make hidden 'reserved slots' that admins/etc can always connect with? Even if say the server shows 80/80 etc
I know that PP does that yes @chilly lodge
And it works for The Isle? I could let them know if they wanted to they could upgrade from 65 (its getting to be 60 fairly common now, so they're planning an upgrade) to 80, then maybe get 5 slots dedicated for admins and others they define (they're thinking of giving me one since they love my streams and promoting them)
You can try this @unkempt moth

At the top left of Steam you’ll see a little button labeled “Steam”, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 1000. You may need to tinker around and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle.
I did what you say
but it doesn't work
Does any soultion you know?
Is there any solution you know?
adding theisle.exe into you antivirus / firewall exclusion list could help.
Also this :
open the command prompt as an administrator and run the following commands:
netsh winsock reset
ipconfig /flushdns
Then reboot your pc.
@unkempt moth
you mean I have a virus in computer?
no
but it could be that your antivirus/firewall blocks parts of the isle
and it won't do that if you add the isle to the exclusion list
Hello and sorry to interrupt any developers. The issue Im experiencing is a multi-server "Kicked from Server: Host cancelled the connection"
Currently have: validated files, made sure avg made an exception to the isle, and not being banned.
How this happened?
First attempt into the game, the loading screen kinda cut fast (unsual). Then I tried to run Isla Nycta Server, which then went from 17% to 100% Attempted to load the gameplay only to be cut back eeing 100% down to 38% and back up with a warning of what was mentioned. Did this on my own server as well, and the issue prevailed. However loading screen was fine.
Open an Administrator Command prompt by typing "CMD" in your taskbar search box and right click > run as administrator.
Once the command prompt is open you will want to enter these 3 following line:
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
netsh winsock reset
Then restart your computer and try playing on a server. @undone dust
hello. One year back it was everythink ok but now i play 10 minits and the game will turn off. Why?? 😟
Can you provide more information then that.. what happens exactly after 10 minutes, does it have an UE4 crash error.. does it give you a Host closed connection error @rotund depot
oh
So little update about my issue : after searching for 20 mins only thing i can find is a empty 60 persons servers with only one person in it is it normal? I talked with the guy, and he says he has the same issue as me.
@neat thorn
No it's not normal. The steam max pings should fix it or the ipconfig commands.
Well, this one server only shows when setting max ping in 5000
I honestly don't know why you're having connection issues.
You've done a nuke and pave.
It doesn't work at s friends house either.
It has to be down with something on your laptop.
It seems like it’s a router setting.. I don’t think you ever answered before, but what security level is your router on? Most routers go low, medium, high and off
At this point I'd pick up a cheap USB wireless card and try that.
Oooh at his friends it doesn’t work either.. damn nvm
It's not a router, his game doesn't work on a connection at a friend's house.
I'm tapped out of ideas at this point.
Did he ever have any of the mods from the past installed? I think I remember you mentioning that already but just wanted to be sure
They completely numed their is and started over
Nuked*
So, probably not previously installed mods.
We have a completely fresh start and the same issue. It's got to be in the hardware or network driver. Possibly a bios setting but hard to say without seeing it in person.
Steam Subsystem Error OR No servers showing.
Open an Administrator level command prompt
Right click CMD - Run as Admin
Type ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
Reboot your computer
?
Someone with funny text name that I can't tag will need that. ;)
sorry xD
There ya go! Fix above....
thx
Welcome!
@glacial nexus Reset Controls/Controls not working properly | Method Two
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
I know it says reset controls but please try it.
Do this with the isle program closed

Anyone ever been unable to grow in survival even with 100% or not been able to progress? Ive had 100% for over 2 hours nothing happens even with full food water stamina. In progression I have just started got my 30 points but cannot hit insert to bring up the menu and when I hit escape the character and progression tabs are unable to be accessed, they are just faded not highlighted like the other. Idk what to and I have been searching to contact a game tech assistant all morning. Please help
Are you in a sandbox server?
No, has happened on all the official servers.
Screenshot your character screen please? F12 in game
in progression I cannot even access that screen once I hit 30 points. I have one for survival, give me a few please. Thanks also!
Progression was disabled. It's survival or sandbox bow.
Aha.... ok then survival is my only issue.
i can't locate the screenshot, any idea what folder is saves too from in game?
Should be a jpg file....that file doesn't work
also should it start me as a juve instead of a hatchling?
i have the screen shot hold on while I try to get it to load on here
well I am looking at the screenshot but can't upload it from here, idk y
it would not let me upload it , said the servers are unavailable
Is your dino on the last growth in the character screen? Can't grow more than that....
