Actually I've got an idea.
Right click The Isle in your Steam library > left click properties > local files > browse local files > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder and launch your game.
See if it works after that.

Let's try a clean installation. Uninstall The Isle from your Steam library then navigate through your Steam folder to The Isle folder, delete The Isle folder and reinstall your game.

slight problem, when I go into servers on the dev branch it won't let me play. I'm able to select a dinosaur, but after that it just freezes up, but still I can hear the dinosaurs roaring and everything is still running. I tried uninstalling then reinstalling the game, but that did nothing.

From what I've seen it's often an issue on the end of the user, as the majority of players aren't encountering an issue. Those that do often solve it by exclusions, running as administrator and such.

If the GPU isn't strong enough to handle the game, you can experience a few things besides just graphical glitches. The game could crash, for instance

Whenever I launch my game and join a server it always freezes up on the selection screeen. The game works on my laptop and this has never happened. When I got this new desktop I installed the isle and what happened was I didn't allow Battle eye to make changes on my device and ever since the isle hasn't worked. I don't know if there is a way I can allow Battle eye to run on my device but if there is that would be great. If there are any solutions for this issue tell me when you can cx

Add an exclusion to your anti-virus/firewall for The Isle.
Identify which anti-virus/firewall program you have (if any) and add an exclusion for The Isle. Anti-virus/firewall interference is generally the most common cause for this particular problem, exclusions often solving the issue entirely. -
Adjust your Steam In-Game server browser: Max pings / minutes.
At the top left of Steam you’ll see a little button labeled “Steam”, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 1000. You may need to tinker around and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle.

Unsub from all your workshop mods, then do this:
Right click The Isle in your Steam Library > left click properties > local files > browse local files > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder and re-launch The Isle. It'll reset everything back to default, the folder itself will refresh upon launch.
After you've done both of those things try launching your game

Unlikely. But if you triggered a VAC ban you'll have to take it up with Valve.. Though if your discord name is the same as your in-game name I do recall observing you and a speedhacker playing together for hours.

yes the only way to log on is with my phone. but only that i deleted the steam app from my mobilephone and put it back on my ipad i had to remove the autenticator to be able to log into my account on my pc and the ipad. and i did not put it back in since then. thats why i got the email with the answer that i got the ferify code to remove the authenticator from my acc

Well your GPU is definitely far below minimum, the GTS 250 dates all the way back to 2009. So that's most likely why you're having graphical errors. You need to update that.

So whenever I try to join a server on dev branch it'll load for 2-3 minutes before giving me the message 'Connection Timeout'. I've tried the branch once before and got the same issue, even after quitting, relogging, resetting my WiFi. The only way I've been able to access a server is if I make my own.

I am also able to connect to the servers on the normal branch - I have tried running steam as an admin, but that just made it take longer to time out than before. I believe authentication errors happen when somethings interrupts your connection, so I'd suggest restarting Steam. Or if it persists to manually restart your router.

@queen ledge The mac version is broken atm. There is a serious Engine bug with it, that to my knowledge the devs cant fix on their end and have to wait for the UE4 devs to fix it. I would suggest, if you can to bootcamp your mac if you still want to play or wait for the fix.

I’ve been getting connection time outs when I try to join servers on dev branch, and the only one I’ve been able to load is a deathmatch on test level. the ones I choose aren’t close to full when I try them (dev 4 is 172/200, & the other I wanted to get on is 46/100). are there any fixes for this...? it’s only dev branch giving me this issue atm.

@lilac thistle I've posted in the discussions, I've scoured the isle discussions and the internet, yet I've found no solution to this problem. and many other people with this issue seemed to be either ignored or told fixes that dont even work. I would very much like some sort of suggestions or help, or at least a confirmation that this is a known bug. I've restarted my steam, and my PC. I've turned off my Firewall, I've verified my game files, I've uninstalled the isle(even deleted the folder in common under the steam folder) and reinstalled, I've switched branches back and forth. (It works fine on the regular branch) I've done every suggestion and hot fix I could find or think of yet. . . no dice. help me or at least confirm it's on your end not mine

Out of curiosity do you have any issue hosting servers on dev branch? Like playing locally. @rose jetty as I'm suspecting it may be a hardware issue seeing that you use AMD R5 graphics which if I'm not mistaken are the equivalent of intel integrated graphics.

A bug with the new patch(s)
Ever since the 3 new patches came out for dev branch, everytime I join a server I get a error message saying the isle has stopped working. It works fine on legacy branch but it does not work on dev branch. it has been working fine on thursday morning after that its been doing that ever since the patches came out. I have tried everything on the common fixes discussions even reinstalled uninstalled steam isle. I asume that others may have encounted this problem. Any thoughts?
My friends been having issues with The Isle, they don't have a mobile so I thought I'd just send it for them

Every time I start up my PC, I get a message that the file Trayapp.msi is missing. I can make it disappear off screen for few minutes. But it pops up on my screen again while I’m playing The Isle. I would appreciate some assistance on how I can stop this message from appearing permanently and/or reinstall trayapp.msi

Well deleting your saved folder should fix it. You can do that by right clicking The Isle in your Steam library > left click properties > local files > browse local files > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.

Hey @lilac thistle so my friend is having a problem with finding the server "Rogue Realism" she has everything needed selected but it takes like 30 minutes for her to find the server, and its very unconsistant

@dense goblet I had the same problem, I found that enabling modded and hide outdated and refreshing. I found it within 5 minutes. Idk how it worked but that’s what I was told and it worked

@trim nebula The minimum requirements error most likely comes from your dual core CPU, the rest of your system is fine., as The Isle recommends a quad core. Other than that the error shouldn't prevent you from playing.

Right click The Isle in your Steam library > left click properties > local files > browse local files > TheIsle > delete your "Saved" folder and it'll reset your options to default, which should fix tthat blinking issue.
And @trim nebula Well your FPS is most likely lowered due to your below minimum CPU struggling on Thenyaw.

Most likely because the development of the game is progressing, the minimum requirements listed on our store page are what you should be using to run the game by the time we're out of Early Access, as it's updated, if you're below those specifications it may be harder and harder for your system to run properly. @trim nebula

@honest river Hm, in that case I'd suggest uninstalling The Isle. After it's uninstalled simply navigate through your Steam folder to where The Isle folder is located, once you've found it, delete it. Then just reinstall the game.

@cinder abyss so i open the isle, press dev 4 (not full) and click join. i wait 5 minutes and nothing happens, its just the server select screen with no servers showing. I exit the isle and go back in. This time when i click to join dev 4 it starts to load like normal then shows this "Duplicate Request"

I am also getting this same issue. Sometimes when I try to join the server. The game will just stay on the server list screen and not do anything else. Other times it will say Duplicate Request. And I tried restarting steam as administrator before posting this.
Could it have anything to do with family sharing?
