@snow cypress Right click The Isle in your Steam library > left click properties > local files > browse local files > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder, afterwards restart The Isle and your issue should be solved. Deleting the saved folder resets all your controls back to default, often fixing nasty little issues like that.

I can't connect to any server -
i was fine up untill one of the recent patches and it makes me sit in the loading screen for 10min, flashes the map for a split second and i get booted to th menu "connection timeout."
i've checked my antivirus and firewall, both were allowing the isle to get through, but i can't even join official servers. and there's a 1/10 chance that i actually get into a server after spamming rejoin a bunch of times. i was wondering if there was any solution to this or maybe some code that would make the timeout longer?
update: past two times i've gotten in i've just gotten a fatal error. i've already validated my files so i have no clue what's goin on.

So I've gotten to 3 crates so far as tribal, the first gave me a bow only, the second I got to with the bow in hopes that I'd get a quiver as well, it gave me nothing, so I suicides and was lucky enough to spawn near the second crate I'd originally went to but as I opened it I only got a bow again, no quiver at all, is there a way to avoid this?

the last few days its always been right around 6:30 and with my internet speeds being so abysmal it takes 3-4 hours to download

@humble venture Ah, well as a Windows 10 user I get that issue frequently. You can fix it by right clicking your task bar and left clicking "Task Manager" scroll down in processes until you find "Windows Explorer" right click that and left click restart.

Recent updates changed where the saved data goes and removed the button. To do reset the game data now;
Right click on The Isle in steam > Properties > Under the 'Local Files' Tab "Browse Local Files" > Open the TheIsle folder and delete the "Saved" folder

Alright, so I launched the game today (it worked fine yesterday) after updating my radeon software to the newest recommended version, and when the game opens up the intro animation and stuff looks fine, but when the main menu slowly fades in everything stops moving and nothing really happens on screen after that point. I can navigate still with my mouse by listening for the menu buttons, but the screen still remains still up until I join a server. When I join a server on the other hand, I enter the loading screen and the game freezes there. I load into the game just fine (with the screen still frozen mind you) and can hear all the in-game sounds fine. The problem basically is that the screen freezes at certain menu and loading screens and as you can guess it makes the game completely unplayable. Is there a way to fix it or will I have to wait until the next patch?
I mentioned the radeon update because it was the only significant change that has happened to my computer between yesterday and today

Things i alrdy tried:
- All Filters off and Max Results set to 500
- Windows Firewall OFF
- No Antivirus running
I m in a new network so it could be caused by this. There are some firewalls.
But i alrdy put myself directly onto the router. So technically the firewall shouldnt be between me and the router anymore. Yet i still have that problem.
In steam the servers are visible in [View -> Servers -> The Isle]. But i cant join them there, since the function doesnt seem to be supported.
So, the reason i m aksing is just for verifying if there is a known issuie like this right now before i call and call and IT-Guy who can check out if the firewall is still blocking some ports or so, since i dont exactly know right now how the network is build up.
ad. 1: The Isle seems to be the only game, where i m having those issues.

Shantu's stomp has almost always been a little buggy. It isn't supposed to one-shot anything large, including rex. But for some reason it has a tendency to register the hit multiple times

@honest river I'd suggest a clean install. Uninstall The Isle in your Steam library then afterwards navigate through your Steam folder to where your Isle folder is located. When you've found it, delete The Isle folder then reinstall the game through Steam.

Is anyone else having this issue? Steam wouldnt launch the game because it couldnt find the .exe file. So I did a clean install (Deleted the game, deleted the isle folder, then reinstalled) Now I get this error immediately after starting the game. I have about 400 hours on the isle so I know my PC can run the game, in the max settings. But now I cannot play at all, its been this way for a couple of weeks now.

@scenic wren For future note; the missing .exe error is often solved via firewall exclusions, especially if you've got a hyper-active program such as Avast.

I've been digging trying to solve this for a few hours now, I can't solve it so I'll resort to here.
I've tried playing with file ownerships, adding the commandline, opening ports, validating, i even changed the OS from centOS to Debian, I still receive the same error. Any help will be much appreciated!

@keen kraken Let's see... Specs seem fine. Earlier you mentioned you've reinstalled five or so times correct? Were any of these reinstallations clean installations? It differs from a normal installation as it involves navigating into your Steam folder and deleting The Isle folder before reinstalling the game.

If you spawn in as a dino on survival servers there is a 'character' menu on the menu bar when you hit esc. you select that and it'll show you coords. If you are nested in, it wont show you coords. There's a storyline reason for the difference between nested in and those who spawn in from what I've heard. Just no one knows specifics about it yet. @steady latch Hope that helps.

Hi, I believe this is the right place to post this but if Im wrong, let me know where to post it. I am currently playing on the Official US 4 server as a tribal and have fallen into a deep hole that I am unable to get out of. All the friends I have play on this server so switching to another isnt really a good option for me. Is there any way I can get out of this hole either by a command or suicide button, or if someone that is able to spawn in and kill me?

Hey um so when I log into my game it comes up with this error thingy it started yesterday when I joined a sertain server or when a mod was Loading and I clicked cancel it would crash but now it’s just happening when my game loads in, it does the little entry scene then says that Fatal Error

Can happen when overheating. Unless it's been removed, the game engine throttles the shaders thus all you see is black. If computer not getting hot, wait for someone who knows more to help! (Assume you have video drivers upto date also)

Okay, so lately when I come to visit my boyfriend I've come across this issue with having trouble finding any of the servers I play on ranging from a dedicated server to pingperfect servers. I don't live in a rural area or anything and it should be better internet compared to my college internet, yet for some reason it's worse???? I don't know if this makes any sense but basically: College internet = fine, I can find servers
House Internet = I have to refresh 100 times before finding a server maybe once in a day. I have already considered the issue being firewalls but I don't think that's the case. My boyfriend and I even wondered if it was an issue with ports or something? Please send halp

Nvm found the solution to my problem: Changed max ping in my steam settings, it searches slower but always finds the server

I'd suggest adding an exclusion to your firewall regardless, prevents issues occurring with it in the future. Outside of that you can adjust the max pings option to your liking, some people have better results on different settings.

Also it didn't make sense to me that it would be the firewall considering I could switch to two different locations/internet and one would be fine (which actually has a super tight firewall already built in or something) to something more recreational like your own home. Heya, im having this "no servers found" issue, dont know exactly since which patch happend, but it used to work before.
I updated my Nvidia drivers, verified the game cache, added an exeption of the whole folder on Avira, and changed the in-game server browser from Steam to all available options, restarting Steam each time but I still have this error, any other solutions i might have missed?
I have Win 7 and my pc meets the minimun requirements but i can send the specs if needed

ive been having an issue for like a few months now where I can play the game for about 10 minutes, on any server, before it freezes. I have to pull up task manager to kill it. Before this I was able to play completely normally, with my gtx 960 and 6300 amd cpu..(I can also run everything on high before it freezes and I tried to put them all on low and it still freezes) so all my specs are recommend except for the cpu. I deleted the save folder multiple times, deleted all mods updated my drivers completely wiped my pc and installed everything again. All my other games work just fine too @lilac thistle

@lilac thistle sorry to be a bother but im still having issues with the vac timeout error which at the moments making my game practically unplayable. im on windows 10 and the isle is allowed through my firewall ive done a complete reinstall and i do not run any mods on the isle nor have any downloaded anymore due to past issues with the game not running and having problems ive also tried verifying my files running the game as an administrator and keeping settings on defaults and graphics low. im at a loss for what to do at this point :/

Aight, so first you want to go into your The Isle folder
Fastest way is to go onto Steam
The Isle > right click > properties

Local files > browse local files
Then from there, open TheIse folder
And you should see a 'saved' folder as the last one
Delete it and then verify your files
After that, it should all be good as new

Was this a VAC issues? Have tried changing DNS settings on your network adatpor, changing them to the public google IP's may also fix your isssue

If unsure how to change them, and what to;
Press Windows Key + R and type "ncpa.cpl" press Enter. Right click on the network adaptor you are using and go Properties (wireless or wired what ever it may be you are using to connect though.
Find Internet Protocol V4 & Properties .
If you are ready have values set write them down or something, Tick the "Use the following DNS Server ..." Set to 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4

Hm, I do believe changing the DNS setting flushes the DNS. Restart PC with the new DNS set would make sure, up to you how much messing around you want :\

Mostly had issues like this with source games. Insurgency for myself. Simple as changing rates and timeout settings or launching game with -nominidumps. Is there something Dev side that they can set a timeout to vac?

did you re-add your exclusions after reinstalling? As that's most likely why you have multiple Isle exclusions, it's probably attempting to exclude something you deleted.

How can I reset my Settings on the Isle? i messed up my settings on accident but switching the keys and I want to reset em. But when I go to Steam and to my library and then go to the Isle and click play the bar saying stuff like "launch without bla bla" isn't there it just directly starts up the game.
