Ah.. I see. Unfortunately your system falls significantly below our minimum specifications which is why you're encountering this issue. For clarification I'll post the specifications listed at the bottom of our store page:

MINIMUM:

I think I need to upgrade my graphics card, I have a cheap laptop with lower specs, that I am able to play the game on low settings and it doesn't have this problem, that's why I thought it was weird.

My laptop has only 4 GB of Ram, and a Processor with only 1.9 GHz. for the rest, I'm not for sure.

I have the Windows 10 with 64-bit operating system, 8 GB of ram and a processor with 3.0 GHz, So I am assuming that I need a new graphics card. I will look in to the ones you recommend and do some research on the internet.

It's one of those things where you'd need a motherboard that is compatible with your CPU, etc. So I'd suggest ensuring that you know what you need to replace and such. Let me link you to an extremely helpful resource..

Hmmm. Double check your security settings to whitelist anything Isle-related, also there is a Steam setting you can change to make server lists populate more easily.

You don't have to change it to 500, but the lower you make this number the more reliably the server list should populate

In the future, you can probably also bring up the task manager and kill the Isle's processes that way, but restarting your PC is a much cleaner and more thorough way to handle stuff like that

Changing your in-game server browser's max results to 1000 may also be a necessary step. It was never needed for my own server selection issues but Punch has recommended it in multiple places

Yeah @sly glade Chingus#3771 I was too, but I’m in no place at all for melee pvp. The frames aren’t good enough, but just go into properties for it and under launch options, type ‘-USEALLAVAILABLECORES -sm3 -d3d10’ without the quotation marks. If that doesn’t work, take the dash out of before the use all available cores. I normally run ark with steam open, then close steam as soon as I load into the world. Hope this helps

Fixed: Windows 10 Version Checking incorrect for non-english localizations.
Fixed: Server Lists showing the wrong player count.
Fixed: Connection Lost / Connection Pending Failure Problems caused by last patch.

If it's working from the file then BattlEye most likely won't run so you'd most likely not be able to join servers. What happens when you launch via Steam?

I didn't click that file, I just ended the .gif there. When you get to that point, right click Steam (the actual application, you'll know which one because it has the steam icon), and do the compatibility thing that you did for the TheIsle executables. @copper folio

For some reason, lately, everytime I click the button to run The Isle on Steam. It will start up but once I am about to be on the main menu or sometimes when I am in the US2 Official server for any period of time, the game will crash and sometimes my pc will crash too. That's actually quite slow for gaming. What's happening is that you're connecting to the servers but they aren't able to communicate fast enough so it's actually just timing you out

XD will let me say this im getting about 7mbps so they are giving me more

I'm fairly confident that's the source of your problem still. Different games will have different netcode which may or may not be heavily affected by latency. If you have a couple of servers that are still reliably working for you, I would advise you to stick to those, but I'm not sure what else I can do. All of the symptoms of your problem point to a poor connection. :(

Depending on your other settings, I don't think a 960 would handle epic shadows that well, not while maintaining an fps over 30 or so.

What you may want to do, is double check your drivers. If they're okay, you may also want to take a look at your NVIDIA control panel and make sure that your computer is using your GPU for The Isle and not the integrated graphics. I've seen cases where that happens.

I had a 960 as well, I could barely scratch 30 FPS on R2 with high settings when a few months ago I could get decent frames with epic/high. I’m pretty sure it’s because the graphics have been greatly improved upon in the game since then, and maybe it isn’t possible to optimize the better graphics as well as the earlier game ran (I have no idea I’m a normie, not a game dev...) I just upgraded to a 1060 and get 70-80 FPS on epic. I can only suggest getting a new GPU, although I’d like for the store page to be updated since I can’t say a 960 is the “recommended” card anymore.

rightclick on the isle in your library and choose "Reste Gamesettings" from the appearing dropdown menu. After you´ve done that the "V" key will let you aim the bow as tribal. You´ll have to rebind your custom keybindings again tho.

If you're having frame rate issues verifying your game files isn't going to help. As you're on a 960 you'll want to have your settings on low - medium. As well as update your GPU drivers via the Geforce Experience program as according to the list you've not done so since the 27th of October 2017.

You'll have to put your settings on a level that your video card can handle

There's a limit to what each piece of hardware can do without overheating or otherwise breaking itself. Usually it will limit itself to keep from going into that range. With careful understanding you can overclock something to push past these limits, but it's not at all recommended unless you know what you are doing.

Yeah, Low and Medium shadows (which are the same thing right now) don't look very good -- they're quite jittery. But until that is improved upon you'll have to make due, either by dealing with shadows or lowering your resolution, which results in a more pixelated picture

Limits your frame rate to a maximum of 60 FPS to prevent screen tearing, as if you're getting 100+ FPS with a monitor that only has a maximum refresh rate of 60 or so you're going to have screen tearing. However it does tax the system a little to have enabled.

Check whether or not your anti-virus is detecting it as a false positive, I had that issue with Avast. It'd constantly delete the executables until I excluded and restored them. As for you Octo see what Looter said about hitting play development.

Only way I seem to get out of that glitch is by waiting until I grew to adult rex. The growth seems to unglitch me but as a sub I was stuck hiding in a bush. That glitch has happened to me 2 times before. I honestly wonder what causes it but hey if anyone goes through it the growth cycle seems to help stop it. 🤷‍♀️

If I'm not mistaken the AMD R4 Graphics are the AMD equivalent of Intel Integrated graphics.. Which if that's the case it's most certainly below the minimum requirements listed on our storepage, your CPU is also a dual core, The Isle specifies a need for a quad core for optimum performance. So your system is certainly hampering your ability to play.

In that case you're unfortunately not within the requirements to make you eligible for a Steam refund, always be sure to read through the system requirements of a game before buying it. The only potential solutions I can really recommend is to check whether or not you're able to update your GPU drivers via the autodetect function here: https://support.amd.com/en-us/download

Reset your game settings again, or attempt a clean installation by uninstalling the game via Steam then deleting The Isle folder located within your Steam directory before reinstalling the game again.

Is there something I can do if I cannot find a server on the Isle? I had been on the server at least 2 days before, so Its not the first time I'm trying to get on this server. However when I get on now and search for it, it doesn't show up on The Isle server list. I have reset, Reverified and have done everything except uninstall it. I have the modpack ofr the server and nothing has changed. Does anyone have an answer or solution?

@velvet stone Often the most common solutions for that particular issue has been checking whether not your anti-virus/firewall is interfering by adding an exclusion for The Isle, ensuring that the max results of your server browser is set to at least 1000.

Alternatively you can also (with the game closed) left click "Steam" at the top left of your Steam client > settings > in-game > at the bottom you'll see "In-Game server browser: Max pings / minute" set that dropdown menu to 1000. Depending on the speed of your internet connection you may find it works better higher/lower.

@lilac thistle To inform you on the advice I took from you. I already had my firewalls accepting Ark and I don't know if the max ping/minute did anything. But I checked both and after the recent patch I was finally able to locate the server. I don't know if it was just my luck or if the patch had something to do with it. Which is awesome in itself. However all the servers listed say there is 0 population on them. I don't know if this is an actual issue, but I found it weird that it said that at such a peak time of day. It could be nothing, but still. Felt like you should know.

It's mentioned in the patch notes. The server screen is a little messed up still but should be fixed in the next patch I believe.

One of the servers I used to play on has just crawled out of legacy and its back up, other people are claiming to be playing on it yet despite upping my max results to 5k, having all filtered options unchecked and trying to search the servers name and looking through the list without the name typed in the server isn't appearing for me at all

Alrighty. Try going to your Steam settings, and then to the In-Game tab. There should be an option with a drop-down menu for max server pings, or something to that effect. The default is 5000. Change that to a lower number. 500 or 1000 is usually enough. It won't have any impact on gameplay but it will take a little longer to populate the server list. This usually helps when servers aren't consistently showing up.

Either it gives me a "Fatal error" message or it won't find any servers even if i unclick all filters, and im using win7 so it should technically work still since the update

Known Issues:

  • Servers temporarily do not advertise the amount of players in the session.
    It's a pain in the ass, we know. Solved next patch, but we didn't want you all to have to wait for this one particular fix.

Clean means you delete The Isle folder within your Steam folder before reinstalling

Heyo i dont have TurnInPlace and FreeLock and SenceFocusMode in my settings after i patched .. i already reinstalled the game it still doesnt work

@ornate rune Right click The Isle in your Steam library > left click properties > local files > browse local files > TheIsle > delete the Saved folder, afterwards launch the game and it'll reset all controls back to default.

@desert hound You're not the only person getting that right now, I believe our programmers are currently setting up a way to debug said crashes, so until then you'll most likely have to sit tight.

I hope someone here can help me, three days ago when the game updated I lost the ability to alt turn in game and use night vision. I tried finding both of them in settings and they are not there, nore is there a reset settings button in settings. I verify'd the game, reinstalled it and nothing. I've tried asking in #401465522815893506 and none of the help i did get seemed to fix it. I dont know anything about computers so I dont know if its my end or if its the game.

The Login button on the main screen doesn't do anything. If you untick all the server filters the server list should populate correctly. The server list is bugged and will not show the population currently, unfortunately

I have now verify'd the game, reinstalled the game. asked everywhere on this discord how to fix this issue if it can be within my own power. i deleted the save folder restarted the game twice and verify'd it and still nothing. The TurnInPlace - Alt turning and Night vision are not showing up there fore i can not use them.

I've been having a similar issue that Aymen11m has been having. I can load up the game perfectly fine, servers pop up after unchecking certain things - But the second I go attempt to connect to a server, it'll keep me loading for about 2-3 minutes before it takes me back to the menu with a connection time out - It happens on every server I attempt to join and sometimes I even have to force close my game because it takes so long. I've attempted to reinstall my game, verify files, etc. But none of them seem to work. Is there any way to fix this?

Delete the one that's located in your Steam directory instead. I thought that we were still using the hidden folder in the Users directory but I was wrong

I asked about that earlier this morning and was told we're back to using the one with the rest of your Isle files

Yup, had a feeling. I'm not sure why it wouldn't let you reset your game settings from your Steam Library, but you can always do this again in the future if you don't see the option for it
