do note that the lore ORIGINALLY was suppose to link with Primal Carnage, the game don worked on before working on this, as Phoenix Corp. As both Phoenix Corp and Apollo engineering were rivials in a sense. Then something happened to Phoenix Corp and Apollo engineering took their assets, as for what they took, we don't know the exact details. Phoenix Corp was the tie in with Primal Carnage as if I recall was the company that was in Primal Carnage, another link was the facility number that also was the containment area for the Rex in the trailer for Primal Carnage with the Rex breaking out of the test tube again this was when don imagined linking the two games until it got shut down by Primal Carnage creators. Since then don has been doing a rework of the lore so yeah that's the story behind Phoenix Corp. And Apollo engineering

This isn't lore related so i'll just say this. Hypers and possibly the other strains need a lot of food to sustain themselves. Carnivores can eat other carnivores or herbivores and Strain plants can simply grow to immense sizes to maximize the efficiency of their photosynthesis but herbivores would simply need a brand new food source to be able to sustain a strain.

from a gameplay standpoint strain herbivores don't make much sense as they can avoid all conflict to survive. Carni strains have to be a menace to everyone else as they need to constantly eat/ need to always get into pvp conflicts. Its not an argument of "what makes sense" but more of a gameplay design decision the devs have made, which maybe should be taken to another chat instead of theories

I am on lunch so I am going to type real quick here, I also believe that if a herbivore would ever get a strain, it would need to expand its died as @swift jacinth and @slow delta suggested, sure we have large terrestrial herbivores such as the elephant, but an animal as agitated and with such mass as a strain would probably need to seek other sources of food.
With that said, it was not my intention to scramble the conversation here away from theories, I do stand by, however, that herbs could achieve Magna stage, its not unreasonable as it merely is a stronger version of the regular animal and it is often treated on a separate branch from the other strains.
Remember, herbivores need some kind of playing field against Carnivorous Strains and human vehicles/contraptions... They are a separate faction after all.

What if a strain herb’s appetite grew to such a size that it would continuously deplete an area of resources so much that it would need to be hunted down and removed in order for the non-strain herbs to survive? Especially if the bush took a longer time to regrow after a strain consumed it there could be some motivation for those dinos to be ousted from herds since their presence would be an extra burden on the others

So i'm not going to comment on the whole AE whatever is V3 because i don't have much knowledge on the subject however when it comes too herbs having strains a lack of food is not the problem
The puerta or brachio for example would need more food than any magna trike or shant so that's not a problem at all
And for other sources of food there are none really atleast none that i can think of at the moment fish? smaller carnivores? but i believe at some point it was thought magna's were mother natures compensation for hypo's and the other strains and evolution won't advance size if food is not accessible

I'm prettyyyy sure they were genetically modified to become magnas, however I think the running accepted theory on it is that the magna was designed to counter the weakness (eternal hunger) of the Hypo in exchange for a size and strength reduction due to the hunger being caused by the energy needed to sustain it being just too much.

Alright guys, to start I am no senior Binary Decoder and this is more jumping the gun rather than going deep into solving this. But I translated the binary on this blue AE screen and no Alphabetical Letters seem to translate other than the last 8 unit code which is "M". What I got out of this is a 13 letter word ending with the letter M. I managed to get "M" by flipping the last bit of binary around, I did that with the rest of the binary but ended up in the same situation. The rest of the characters just translate into Unicode which to me is almost impossible to revert to Alphabetical letters. I also converted the Binary into Decimals by using the Base 2 method but overall just got nothing. Then I began to think maybe the first 12 characters aren't meant to be discovered and it's more of a game of Jotto or Guess the Word. So I came to the conclusion that the word may be Hypermorphism. The actual word being Hypermorphic which is a genetic mutation/evolution. So whatever caused the Island to go into lockdown, according to all the translations of audio and light morse and there's some kind of offline protocol causing the hypos to escape, maybe they possessed an increased level of activity. But anyways if anyone can try and translate it themselves please do. Could be a good lore reveal.

@icy onyx I always assumed Neo Nova Magna to be the Magnaraptor since it was new, but the Nova you mentioned does confuse my thesis.
@meager birch Brachiosaurus and other sauropods does not necessarily support the case for herbivore strains, the reason for this is that sauropods were incredibly slow. It does not go against power, I am sure animals of that size had immense power, the whole problem is metabolism and how it works on biological organisms to convert resources (food) into energy.

@meager birch , well you do have your point there. I am only basing myself with some biology (not my field though). The Strains presented so far are actively seeking food all the time, were as a sauropod would not need constant movement to offset it need for food, it could go very fast but in certain situations, not the norm.
But it could be argued either way, it all comes down to the science those researchers cooked up in those sites... We will have to see, anything is within the realm of possibility at this point.

oh i died playing and i noticed that on the left bottom corner there was a new filter with these, so i went to a deathmatch server and kept spamming the screenshot button every time i died until i wrote down what they all said. i enhanced the pics a bit beforehand but the background of the test level helped to make them visible on its own

looking at sandbox as of today, there are 31 unique species.
so it can't be fossil locations, though I saw dots like Carno that is from south america and Spino and Giga that hail from nothern african continent

Also I am doing my due dillegence on the fossil record with wikipedia, I already exceeded the number of "american dinosaurs" vs numbers of dots. While it could be argued that some animals have multiple sites, I find it unlikely to be fossil sites.

I can guarantee it isn't fossil sites; you cannot actually get dinosaur fossils in Canada, especially far north, given the Glaciers kindof ran amok up there and stripped it all away. The fact there are two dots in Canada, one in north-eastern Quebec / Newfoundland & Labrador (hard to tell) and another in the Northwest Territories rules out fossil digs outright.
The only possible connection might be military compounds / testing sites, and I unfortunately lack the knowledge to back up that hypothesis. But I mean, it's certainly an angle worth considering.

This was a very interesting read. I am inclined to accept Hellshade's last thesis here, its just for looks.
I don't think we would be talking planes either, not one is over the sea and they all seem to be stationary, unless the radar is constatly reproducing the same cycle indefinetly which makes no sense.
Also, the number of people being involved on the core project could indeed be a very low number, I been part of a project on a previous job I undertook along other specialists of other fields, we didn't know what we were doing aside that which specifically was handled by us. A year later it came to light, but it was clever how they kept it to the vest.
Also, not sure how much truth there is to this or if its pure urban legend, but the Coca-Cola formula is known by very few people and yet you have all these factories and people working on the plants, a friend of mine, she has a brother who worked at a plant, the coca-cola formula comes ready to be mixed with water and stuff like that, part of it comes already "prepared".

I agree that for the Dinosaur portion there are more people than just 29. The "heavy lifting" is surely more than that, however, Dinosaurs are not the only experiments on The Isle, and I hardly believe the animals to be the end goal, rather a step to a means.
However, when I look into strains, particularly Type-Ns, it seems there was a tigher control both literally and intel wise. Clearly someone understood they overeached there when they ordered subjects and exposed staff to be terminated.
Also, DinoLife brings another interesting part into the fold, I do believe we went back and forth of when The Isle takes place, I recall that newspaper someone found on the ground about the Titanic and its survivors, while the radar was used much during the war and cold war eras.
I always defended the 90s as a place based on sound of key strokes and monitor "turning on", but those by themselves could be traced even earlier.
I saw some interesting stuff LONG AGO on history channel, but during war people really thought outside the box with lots of concepts and ideas, some even on the crazy side.

That's... actually not a bad question, but all things considered I don't believe they are. For whatever those things are to have literally become part of the landscape that island (and the creatures themselves) would have had to have been around for a longggg time, and there's no way that AE has been doing this long enough for that to happen.

So if not for entertainment, why create dinosaurs? Recreate them to temper with forced evolution could be a thing.

Not sure what you're referring to there, but the magna rex is a tyrannosaurus rex achieving it's all, reaching it's full potential. If nature had enough time, that's what the rex would've become.

although from primal carnage idk a lot since the lore is pretty slim

other than the dinos themselves

i feel more like maga rex has DNA from that particular rex of PC, theory could be that they both worked parallel in development, AE crossing the line both in morals and aproach than Phoenix, specially since phoenix, revived dinosaurs only, but from what ive read or experienced, never searhced such a cultist system like the one AE implements of soul perservation and recarnation
so while phoenix had more experience in pure genetics at the time, AE had developed somehtign unholy wich is this soul perservation system and recarnation through the replicator i think
and offcurse dinosaur mutation, corporal espionage , maybe even sabotage as far as we can insinuate, and offcourse human experimentation, but at the end this ends up being of lil relevance due to the poor foundations of such a theory

To put it in perspective, Lets say Phoenix was the original dinosaur-making company or whatever. Someone had to bud off that company to make AE, which also led to some stealing of asset DNA. They may have wanted to make the perfect dinos in the sense that they may have thought they could do better than the others at Phoenix corp.
Which if you think about it, it kinda reflects Dondi in the sense that he himself budded off from PC dev team, in the sense that, yunno, he thought he could do better than them. Along with everyone saying that he cant make his own game or he should stop ranting or whatever it was that happened. Plus, with his knowledge of video-game-making from PC, you can say that mightve been him 'stealing assets'
There was also one theory i heard about, where the whole Isle dev team is AE themself, since their the ones technically making these assets
