But it still doesn't explain why that particular area on the new V3 has that kind of static effect. I've been over there and IIRC, I don't remember seeing any of the cameras over there, but that's probably because the buildings themselves aren't done yet.
Or maybe it's just a static effect to let us know that we're near an important lab? IIRC, the buildings over there are supposed to be a lab.
@earnest glade It's been heavily implied that the "god" or "gods" that tribals worship is actually The Replicator.
Hence the whole reincarnation leveling-up gimmick that tribals are going to get. They sacrifice things to their "god," and it rewards them with enhanced genetic advantages in their next life.
Oh I know that, I just don't think these cameras hold any info regarding the replicator etc.
It's possible, but I do think the devs want us to make a connection between these cameras & The Replicator. I'm not expecting any big lore reveals or anything like that.
I came to similar conclusions as you did @foggy kindle, I too see a camara, I too believe it is the replicator and in the original tweet there was some line like the "replicator is not without it's protectors". The way I read this, based on other infos spread all over their social media, seems that the tribals indeed worship the replicator and go out of their way to protect it. This is an interesting gimmick that can inspire the role playing player to behave the way its intended. I like the conception of the whole thing.
As for the static effect as a dino on certain regions, when I open the character menu [insert], on the top-left corner the tracking system is "active", so I have read somewhere we have chip inserted on the dinos and those create interference as we approach certain areas, I am not sure if it is deliberately to keep us out of those or if it just is a transmission interference running on the same frequency, which could be one way to relay a story to the player. My thoughts on this.
It makes sense that if the tribals (who worship the replicator) understand that the cameras are it’s way of observing them, they would build a shrine around it to show the replicator their loyalty
@edgy pike that would be awesome, I can see the practical implications, and it could create contention with the Mercs, as dinos we know they are driven by hunger, thirst and territory, I have yet to see points of contention that would put Tribals and Mercs at odds as well. I think Mercs will have to reactivate systems and if you have tribals established on those... bingo! You got a conflict right there. Good call @edgy pike.
Merc and Tribal 20 v 20 battle. Dinosaurs are of course going to join in.
Who wouldnt!
Its a white, rectangle shaped camera that is looking downwards.
it does look like a skull
it also looks like a camera
i guess we wont know for sure until more lore comes in new patchs
Guess your right, unless we ask a dev.
ehh we can't
Yeah i meant directly ask.
don't think we would get a true answer though
meh
maybe the camera has a skull ontop of it
Yeah, lets say that.
Not really meant to ask lore questions
But I mean, their choice to answer so it can't necessary hurt
Unless they ban you
true
Has anyone checked the morse on the V3 radio towers since the re-release for changes?
Hmm. I might get on to check later, my morse is so rusty it's condemned but if anything is going I might be able to grab a recording at least.
Apparently there's some morse broadcast but you've got to spectate to it.
best case scenario -its new morse
worst case scenario - its the same morse as thenyaw
either way we'll run into the problems we had the first time
the ambient sounds are too loud
Want me to double check?
I can do the same as last time and see if I can get anything out of it
What if the "hypo plants" will take our chips out of us will we still be able to see static? or is the static something much worse
"Aliens"
but what if there are alien DINOSAURS
No that's dumb
not really if we can make dinosaurs why cant the aliens make ALIEN DINOSAURS
Why would aliens even make dinosaurs though?
Makes more sense for people to make dinosaurs
The only dinos that might even have a hint of alien in them would be those weird neuro strains and even then its not confirmed.
I would say wait until the game is finished until you start making theoris
Damn
Maybe players who are hatched rather than spawning in normally will be able to enter down the line since they were born in the wild.
@icy onyx "wait until the game is finished" so more than a year? and if we wait till its finished to make theories and advance the lore, wouldn't this channel be literally useless to have for now?
@abstract drum this makes sense. Two scenarios came to mind based on it:
1.) Starting over from a baby stage is sure longer as it adds one more stage to the whole thing, arguably harder and it would involve at least 3 players to do so. I am curious with the whole Magnatyrannus and how that fits in place, since it is not a "Strain" as the other 3 variants. I admit I liked it a lot personally when I saw it (on a video from @stone coyote ).
2.) Alternatively, perhaps we encounter some environmental "hazard" that triggers the next stage in the life cycle... @rough jay gave me this idea today. There is a lot of left over buildings, after all, Type-M is considered "perfected", which to me implies something unnatural was done to it, hence why in Solus' case, might be external influence in its composition.
Since we are dealing with genetic engineering (or some form of engineering), perhaps "perfected" is that which brings it closer to its natural self. Which would lead to scenario 1.) being more likely. It can go either way I suppose.
I mean theories are predictions for what’s upcoming. You can’t make predictions if the games already finished
@sinful hatch my question is, is what “Environmental Hazard” would trigger this sort of reaction?
But for the last part I do agree, perfected seems to be or look more like the natural dinosaur then more of a strain.
Used "hazard" as a lose term there, as I did not have anything better in place at the time of writing. Practically, my thought would be for the player dino to enter or reach certain place which would trigger / unlock a new stage.
though, perhaps for an unnatural trigger it would happen if you ate something?
I kept thinking on the horrid Unknowns (Edchina, Reaper and Colossus), they are awesome in their own way but freighting. Maybe eating one of those would trigger the evolution for the Strains. I have no clue what would trigger Type-M if not a naturally born dino, as it does have a "monster" counter part as of now.
@loud fern sry, forgot to tag you. 😃
Also remember, only Carnivores have Strains so far... So eating is starting to seem incredibly possible to trigger this.
I like @abstract drum 's idea. If those disturbances are linked to the implants naturally born dinos shouldnt be affected by them. So first we need someone who has been nested to go check on a human building if it still gives him the same effect and if it does we can still have two hypotesis: 1. The devs didnt think about it. 2. It's not linked to a physical implant but rather some transmission that messes directly with the dinos brain.
@wintry flume , brain tempering is interesting, considering the TYPE-N supposedly can mess with minds, it would not be that far out. Though, I admit, it would be very interesting if Nested animals didn't see it.
Yeah
I'd expect that kind of attention from the people who made the effort of putting morse codes everywhere. lol
I didn’t look at the full convo but is it really possible that Aliens are a thing in The Isle?
Just a shot in the dark
well, it ins't clear obviously, we don't know nor was it confirmed, I did see todays conversation about it and it seemed someone brought it up as a joke or something, though why would you classify something "Unknown" if it was made?
So, by not having it shot down straight away, it makes room for this theory. Honestly it could provide background to Unknown and how the replicator actually works.
both things feel very "off"
So I am making 3 points, this first image pushes the theory that the Olympus tweet contains a camera in the gif attatched. They look fairly similar, but I also see a resemblance on it being a skull.
Yes, was just downloading the pictures. They kept saving as a downloadable file rather than just a jpeg where it shows. Anyway this picture is a possible cave or maybe even passage that is located near the large docks. Perhaps it was how the tribals contained a camera.
This is just an old newspaper I found on the docks. But maybe a hint to what time period The Isle takes place.
It states: "Titanic sinks with 1,200 Men; 866 Women and Children saved"
About the paper id just say it's a random asset they've put there. What should an article about titanic have to do with this game? We know the project for AE started in 2004 from the title screen and various messages.
That place actually looks like a collapsed entrance to some sort of building or underground place, probably tied to the natives yes and not to the scientists because of those raw stone walls.
i really really hope he murges his old game and the isle together
Yeah the paper was just a random find that I found intersting since AE was in 2004 but the titanic sunk around 1912. But if you're creating a game I would believe every asset counts, so exactly...what does the newspaper have to do with a Dinosaur game. Just a speculation. Like why are they being shipped old news when they are in a different era.
And although I have not played PC, it would be awesome to see the two tie together.
Yes everything matters but this is still an early access. You put aside minor things like a texture on the ground to focus on more important stuff. We can't know honestly. Let's keep an eye out for other signs of early 1900 culture.
About Primal Carnage I don't think Dondi owns the game, does he? I heard he had in mind a connection between the two games but somebody was saying the owner of PC didnt accept or something like that. Idk really.
That was years ago
From uhh
Let me find it
This tweet
We can judge though
That they probably made some kind of deal
And even though this video IS jokey the magna does look a lot like the PC rex https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAF_CW3xM_8&feature=youtu.be
The old stuff from the stream with khorne hasn't been confirmed to be canon lore again yet so I'd take that with a grain of salt
But the B-443 stuff and what not still makes you h m m m
The PC assets from what I heard Dinosauriac gave him to mess around with but not actually be able to put into the game or anything, however that could've been misdirection to not spoil stuff or things could have changed
On the topic of the news paper thing honestly I wouldn't be surprised if it went either way, placeholder asset or actually relevant. Kind of gave me the thought tho that I bet half the reason they have this chat is for a different sort of brand of feedback by subjecting the game to overanalyzing spergs in here they see what needs to be changed to best maintain the atmosphere of the lore they're building
I'll bet you 10-1 that newspaper is a random asset. Right now there's a bit of (I hope) placeholder assets all over the game that come straight from the Unreal Marketplace, including things such as that Canyon map and I believe the cliff-side rocks around V3. There's a few more that I think are also placeholders, but I can't be too sure and don't want to say it is and potentially offend someone
I agree 100%. I wouldn't bring the topic on the newspaper any further. It was interesting to find nonetheless and as Bork pointed out, probably just overanalyzing. But hey, the channel is for theorizing and we are pretty much at a hold to finding more stuff about the lore so I thought I would look more closely to detail. That and I attempted to find out if new morse was at the radio tower but after recording about 10 minutes I realized I wasn't recording in-game audio. I just itch in the end.
lol Luncha
I had actually missed that tweet (probably for still refusing to add twitter to my socials).
Well it looks pretty much clear to me. "CarnageIsComing". I don't think Dondi would release a THIRD version of PC on steam, both it could look kinda like a scam and he already has lots of work to do on TI. So I'd say he finally got what he needed to merge the two games as he wanted. Idk what could really get out of it but I'm sure we wont see it until human factions are a thing.
From the start the game was meant to be a spiritual sucessor to PC
So I suspect the lore was on a kind of perpetual hold up until he got the rights or whatever
@tiny carbon , can we track that newspaper asset in Unreal? This is one way to nail it though I am impressed you guys caught this. I highly doubt we are in the early 1900. The sounds when we boot the main menu suggests the 486 PCs or something in that spectrum, I know because I used to have one in the 90s that made the same boot sounds. I agree with @echo gazelle , we should probably drop it unless we find another "from that time" related item.
@regal sundial and @wintry flume , I will depend on you both with Primal Carnage related clues, I do have the first one, but not Extinction, and honestly didn't remember there was a lore or that the CEO was Lawrence "something". I vaguely recall Phoenix and think it was the company. I might boot it up just for a refresher.
Regardless, I am happy that Afterthought has some kind of relationship with the folks that made Primal Carnage and they are working on some kind of agreement with by possibly building a lore together or at least make them plausible to coexist and even compete. But to me it feels the lore for the Isle is much darker, and I must say, I really like the tone Dondi and team have set for it.
There is another question I like to drop here, why mercenaries? Ever given the thought on this? are they hired by a competition to Apollo Engineering? Were they hired by AE as a recovery team for something? Were they hired to get the facilities back in operation? Why Mercs? At some point this faction was divided by Rangers, Poachers and Mercenaries. I always deduced that because the game is so open and each player decided how he / she wants to play that they all would be in the same faction, but behaviors would classify them accordingly. From a lore perspective I would assume Rangers are AE surviving personnel, Mercs would be competitors and were looking to extract information, finally Poachers would be out to hunt dinos??? It seems the whole concept has been dropped, but it still leaves the question, what are the mercs doing on the isle and who hired them?
Tribals are more self explanatory, in the Jurassic Park lore (the actual lore not the movies), John Hammond bought the Island but there were indigenous people living there who got pushed out. I think Tribals in The Isle fit more or less the same way, they were there already but got pushed out or transformed either directly or indirectly by AE's experiments, this naturally made them adapt their culture.
I know I am bringing another layer to discussion, but I wanted to share this none the less, I like to read people thoughts on this thread about everything we have been discussing and I have been asking myself about the humans role in all of this.
I'll look for it if I can sometime today and report back anything I find, but honestly that's such a minute detail itd probably be hard to spot that in some marketplace asset
@sinful hatch in PC:E there’s plenty of lore about Phoenix in the loading screens. You can ask a Bhal if you want to find all of those. I might go around some of the PC:E maps later to see if there’s anything else. There’s also a chance that the PC:E SDK has did direct assets that are used
The guy in charge of Phoenix was Lawrence Carter
And I believe he was mentioned in that lore stream years ago
Also there's good reason there's such close ties, Dondi was one of the main people working on primal
The tribals definitely are not ooga booga jungle natives though, most likely they are the survivors of the incident that got in some way trapped in the same loop the player EIPs are in
Only instead of dinosaurs the replicator is trying to perfect humans perhaps
Another theory is they are humans exposed to the specimens that makes strain creatures
Although those are not mutually exclusive
We know for a fact that tribals are a spectrum and that the guy with the no eyes and dino legs, the 'cannibal' is a tribal and vice versa
Also something to keep in mind is in projects like this, most concepts will be adapted and recycled instead of purely abandoned, so in the future we may see some remnant of that 'class' idea for mercs
I doubt TI will be mere a genre swap for PC either, it'll be more of a spiritual successor/reinterpretation of the general themes, kind of like how people change things in movie adaptations, same general story just with a few bits mixed and matched. Plus TI will be building a new story off of PC and weaving it in
btw notice a similarity between the maps Seasons, The Falls and Contingency and the dome on V3?
(hell contingency even has a sign saying 'welcome to atrium C' although I doubt the atrium C in TI will be identical, it'll probably be way more fleshed out and have a lot more depth to it's design considering the differences in gameplay)
Chance/Rodriguez Vega was another lore figure
I’m pretty sure it’s stated that they are on different islands
And the PC islands are visibly larger than V3
@regal sundial @edgy pike @tiny carbon , read it and tks!
@tiny carbon , perhaps the amount of effort to dig in the unreal marketplace is not worth it based on just that piece of evidence. So no worries if we rather not persue that path for now.
This image right here (it is old I know), makes me wonder so many things I cannot begin to describe it. The Creator, curious how he can pet it, no? It sets the perfect tone with awe and fright with a touch of mystery, all in perfect harmony here. This is my favorite The Isle artwork. The Creator is a character I would really like to know more about.
Dr. Wu but better
I admit it's à good one
D-dodni
Tapwing did make another, yes:
More like Dr. Woah
dondi releasing the isle onto steam circa december 2015
but isnt he more like hammond than dr wu
Technically, the man is all of us as we can all control dinosaurs
Like, it’s true it’s definitely a person, but it might’ve of represented the first person to create the technology to control dinosaurs.
I believe someone came up with a theory for this long ago about how the two images could be connected
Yeah, I did XD
Sometimes I imagine Dondi watching this channel from time to time and laughing his ass off
Yeah and just going by every theory just with a check list going “Your wrong, your wrong, oooh that’s a good idea”
lol
makes me wonder how much they have 100% set in stone, and how much they change over time
That we can only guess. From what I've seen the basic guideline is down. They're probably figuring out details and advanced parts on the way as the mechanics evolves and they test what creatures and features they're actually able to put in the game.
@tiny carbon , I did not know Tapwing had it reimagined. It does look very cool to, but I feel like the petting gave a stronger contrast to the whole ordeal. But again, I loved this one as well and tapwing`s designs are really cool.
@icy onyx , I would also assume that The Creator is more in line with John Hammond than a Dr. Wu, the movies never really flesh out Hammond that well. I take it Dr. Wu comes to mind because its the recent current hollywood dino geneticist-scientist.
Jurassic World 2 tries to establish the foundation of the research and how important John and Benjamin were for the whole project, sadly to me it sort of landed flat, it could have been better explored. This is why I think a game like the Isle can provide more background than any 2 hour movie, the immersion in games is certainly higher so I do look forward to see the lore get more fleshed out.
Well my theory was essentially that in the first one the creature is crouching on it's own to let him pet it and he's staring in awe at what he's done, he's like a proud father beginning something new. In the new one, that hypo is much too low to the ground to be just crouching down to his level, and the man looks older and seems to be staring at it like a father who's getting tired of having to keep punishing his child. The environment on the first one seems open, while this new one features crates and the like, indicating that they're probably in some sort of indoor storage or building
My theory was that they were basically a progression over time, not a reimagination
I don't think those are crates there keeping the glass in place .... there like supports keeping the glass strong I don't really know what you would call them
@tiny carbon you are right, the snout is different, the first one is more like a traditional Rex, but the new one is certainly a Hypo Rex. Now that you mentioned, the first one does feel like open environment, where as the second is clearly not in any jungle and more confined.
someone did morse code a few months back.. here's mpre
more*
@slow delta i think it was you? either way you would know who to send this too
Dondi said that was ambience I believe
^^
doesn't mean we shouldn't check it just to be sure.
would be funny if we didn't check it
and this is the hint we need to "log in"
most likely not the case, but it would be funny
Yeah but I don't think he's going be that much of a dick
well as long as someone checks it everything will be fine
I mean last time sometime tried to derail the whole theory chat they gave us like twenty hints
was it buder that did the morse? i can't remember
Alrighty back to this because it got me sort of thinking
If you look at the first one, the rex definitely isn't laying down. You can see part of the neck that leads to the rest of an offscreen body, witb the head turned and tilted down a bit to look at the Creator.
Thus, the rex is probably awake and allowing the hand to jaw contact to happen
The creator is also younger in this one. His hair is well kept, his suit clean and wrinkle free. He's touching the rex in a way that seems to be proud or awe filled, no. Not awe. His body language is wrong for that; it's more of a "I made this" sort of touch. He's very calm and relaxed in this one as well
Forward in time. We went from what MAY HAVE BEEN a regular rex to what seems to be a hypo rex.
I say regular because, yes, the design in the first seems to be that of a normal rex.
This being said, this new drawing could be of the future when the Creator has not only successfully made a rex, but also created a hypo rex.
He seems older as well. His hair is in more of a disarray, his suit wrinkled.
His posture isn't as relaxed either; it's more stiff and solemn.
The hand that he had been touching the rex with is now in his pocket; as if he can't bring himself to touch this project
He also seems farther back from it this time, like he doesn't want to be too close
You can also see that the rex in this one is laying down or crouched close to the ground, you can see the haunches/sides a bit to indicate this
If you look very closely, under the rexes jaw and infront of the Creator, there appears to be a ramp that leads up into the hypo's... containment cage? Maybe this is where they had kept the hypo after it was made
The area is also cluttered and dirty looking, as if alot of time has passed and more junk has built up.
Or
As you can see the ramp that leads into this sort of containment area, you could think that they were maybe MOVING the hypo somewhere? That could be why the Creator seems so out of touch with it and uncaring compared to the first drawing. The packed up crates could add to that theory as well
by moving it I mean maybe they moved it there OR they were moving it elsewhere.
Either way, it's definitely not just a remake. I'm certain it's a drawing that was done farther ahead in time than the first
Yeah you can see the whole outline of the body and damn... He Thicc
I hope if they eventually do a cinematic they include that poster image, but, you know.... cinematically. And make the man in the suit look like Dondi
I’ve been wondering all the time since the first time of that image, will hypos respond to humans somehow?
Dondi=Vega CONFIRMED
I've sorta always had the theory that the devs are apollo engineering and we are the players and that we are all part of the lore with them being part of it too
wait th that a cane in the righ thand?
looks very faintly but you can follow a very thin white line from the right hand postition, as if it was lighting on a cane
@icy onyx the image that you send the person is supposed to be dondi?
I mean is dondi?
Mk idk if anyone thought of this yet, but part of what @tiny carbon said, something I thought of in the past is what if the devs are just giving us random hints in their stuff and us theorists are actually helping make the game? Like giving the devs ideas and such in terms of mechanics and lore. Idk just a thought shrug
@dense cradle I translated the morse code in the so called 'ambience', but dont take it from me, as im not entirely sure about it. It sounds as if its saying ... --- ... ... --- ... ... ---... (which is SOS repeated 3 times) then it kind of just messes up its wording afterwards
Actually, after rewatching that this is what it says ... --- ... ... --- ... -... ... --- ... ... --- ...
which means sossosbsossos?
My take on that picture. In the higher saturation edit it looks like there's bubbles as if the hypo's in a tank perhaps ala b-443
Although it could be grime
Also it very much so looks like he has a cane in his left hand
again ambience
Even though its just an sos signal, thank you for decoding it
Y’all are just looking at this picture and over complicating it.
hey sometime sover complicating is the way to go
you should have been around when 20-30 people sat in the vcs and waited for streams and clues
A waste of time I’d say
The creator’s just watching the whole discord squabble over a picture, laughing.
i mean we dont have much
at this point tis just to theroires and look at old info and try to find new info
The first image is clearly a guy in a suit, but the second-newer version looks like an army veteran. Maybe there looking at each other ready to fight?
You mean the man who is not holding any visible weapon is about to fight the dinosaur that can fit him inside of its mouth?
the whole its the same guy amkes sense
kinda
and it satrted off simple with the rex
and then hypo
tbh I think it has less directly to do with the lore in any specific way and more to do with Dondi
@loud river , thanks! great observations there! I really appreciate the effort in analyzing them. I found the read quite enjoyable to as you made your case.
@fresh rivet I think that Hypos supers will behave differently based on each player, pretty much like any other creatures. Though I would be highly suspicious of Hypos especially as they will be constantly hungry.
@regal sundial I see the bubbles too, which brings two questions, are these marks between a glass or is it a stasis tank of some sort? The fact the Hypo is crouching seems to defeat the argument its a tank, but still, it could go either way.
@dusk axle I don't see the cane, only if I push into too much. I might need my eyes checked again, its been a while. 😃
I watched Dondi's live yesterday, he was adjusting and tempering with stuff, I got to see the Hypo Spino as he aligned it to the terrain, but what really drew my attention was the Female Tribal model, it was obviously a WIP, but heck it looked very cool, I hope this is more or less how it will look.
I couldn't watch the whole thing as I was getting ready for new years, but there maybe more to it.
it = meaning the stream, maybe other hypos and creatures who knows.
@sinful hatch that was a ripped model from a game called 'paragon'. He said in twitch chat that it was the leaning left and right feature the model had that was of interest to them. The tribals we'll be getting will likely be in line with the discount orcy/mutant freak bois we've seen before- at least if we're talking about general appearance.
The tribals ain't gonna be nice looking lads and ladies, that much is certain.
Lol save our soles I believe you mean souls
if its just ambience you can only imagine what the more intense songs will have
@warped coral Read it, thanks for the clarification. Realigning expectations. I just thought that tribals would begin human and as they sacrificed, or upgraded they would look more and more monstrous, kind of cool and tragic at the same time.
Does anyone know what's up with the static around human areas?
@coral bronze Some assume its AEs way of telling us we shouldnt be there
Hm
@coral bronze also interference from our tracking implants
We have tracking implants?
TO SIZE ISSUES OF NEWEST TYPE-M SPECIMENS, ALL FURTHER AQUATIC BIOLOGICAL STUDIES WILL MOVED TO ATRIUM B (POD 4) UNTIL THE BAY LOCKE IS FINISHED DEVELOPMENT.

Size limits
Big ribs
Hmm
Speaking of which are there any good pictures anyone has of those ribs?
All that old info tartifi has saved is suddenly making more sense
not sure if this is a theory as such...but has anyone else noticed that you can 'click' between settings and character in the esc menu? You can't between any other tabs, just those two. It doesn't do anything, just curious
@coral bronze When you hit the character screen (insert), at the top left corner you have a tracking status "active". I deduced this is an implant of sorts, but it feels weird if you were nested in, I would logically assume a natural born dino not to have tracking devices. There is always the off chance that they track us externally somehow, but I would love if nested creatures had some kind of gameplay advantage for going thru the baby stage.
@narrow pasture no, didn't notice. I will take a look, but it might just be an issue.
@sinful hatch , 😢 thought I might’ve found a secret (later build) button 😂
Even makes a different sfx...that’s what drew me to it
@placid harness where did he post that? can you DM me the link or something, i missed it.
well nvm, i need to learn to scroll up more before asking stuff
i have a theory that the replicator is not artificial but someones concious or a human being thst is controlling the isle like the CEO or a scientist
eh?
@icy onyx Replicator = The Creator?
interesting. We still dont know what the "contract of a thousand lives" is.
Additionally, I have just remembered that one old hypothesis is that The Isle takes place on another planet, hence how other maps will be introduced and strange plants and creatures can be found.
Another planet idea has 0 evidence
Thousand life contract refers to how the EIPs are human consciousnesses that are trapped within this never ending loop, being used to artificially accelerate these creatures' evolution by applying the processing power more or less of a human mind and a method not too dissimilar to say, brute force decryption to the desires and priorities the creature would normally have. You live, you die, you learn, you live again, over and over.
The exact nature of what this loop is and how we were put into it to begin with is still unknown
@regal sundial I would hope not another planet, but fictional islands can only be pushed so far. I can however see a narrative adapt to this. I did see people bring this up a long time ago. The idea is not only lacking in evidence, but also the login for AE has clearly used planet Earth as its template.
though, why use a planet at all?
We know this takes place in the early 2000s almost definitely on earth after Phoenix collapses
It could be a VR simulation like the matrix though, or a truman show esque mega dome
Considering SpaceX is pushing for us to get to mars, we may not be all that sci-fi when we get a human there, perhaps at some point this was considered. The alien creatures we used to know as cannibals (now firmly classified as Unknown) as well some old plant designs (also alien to their habitat) made me raise this topic.
What do you mean by login though? The server search menu? That is most definitely fluff of a 'radar' thing finding the servers
the loading to the mainscreen
Cannibals are tribals
oh my be the servers then
The original specimens of the strain stuff could've very well came from space
I just don't think it's plausible for it to be set on a different world
it would be a bummer if all of this came from else where, defeating the purpose of the creator.
Also, I thought about the matrix thing, by far my least favorite theory (but completely plausable).
Yeah it would a sorta lame scenario if this stuff is all 'fake' in the world of the game
agree.
I doubt 'The Creator' is of ultimate importance though. And the Replicator is most definitely some form of rogue custodian machine intelligence
Like if someone made a sentient AI and told it to make desk lamps
Then it took over the world and processed all of it's resources into desk lamps
Then launched probes to the other planets in the system and broke them down and turned them into desk lamps
Only in this case it isn't to that extreme
And instead of desk lamps it's the perfect organism/perfection of organisms
I.E Magnas, Strains, Injections and The Matriarch
@regal sundial I also agree with the notions you mentioned, I however like to think the creator will have a part to play in this story, it seems natural to me that the Olympus Transmitter / replicator will be the current set of events, and therefore more relevant to the present time. The creator seems to be a character / personality to flesh out the past and foundation for how it came to be. I find these story characters/pieces incredibly interesting to elaborate on. That is me though. 😃
I have many doubtful theories.
As a YouTuber had mentioned, the massive skeleton could be from the recent era of monsters that roamed the earth, or what they would have looked like. They either evolved from that creature and shrunk, or the humans created the dinosaurs from the bones they found (Jurassic Park).
The static cause by a player nearing or entering a man-made structure could be caused by, as many believe, a tracking device of some kind inside each dinosaur, perhaps in the same place where the Indominous Rex had clawed it out in Jurassic World. Most of the structures that cause this may have some kind of force field around it, or a device/s that emit radiation that cause this. The thing I don't understand is, does it effect the dinosaur mentally or is it that only the player can see it?
Anthomnia had pointed out that the radio tower might be emitting some kind of signal that may be causing surrounding man-made structures to emit the same frequency which hence causes this strange static perhaps. He also said there was some kind of Morse code travelling through the tower itself. My guess is it could be a distress signal, but I encourage, if interested, that anyone who has a considerable amount of knowledge on Morse code could attempt to make it out. That includes the radio tower on Thenyaw Island too. To those who don't know, use a Utahraptor to sit inside the caged area of the tower and sit on the building. You'll be able to hear Morse code there.
Anyway, those are just my theories. Tell me what you think if you're bothered to read it all. xD
People have already decoded both ages ago
Also it is advised to never acknowledge Anth theories because they're either totally senseless shit he pull out of his ass or something someone else figured out that he took, or was fed to then reiterate in his videos
Desk lamps.. lmfao
wait
so whats the recent theories?
Lets see
giant skeleton is a monster from a recent era
errrr
most likely a hypo of somekind of a fossil remnant of a prehistoric creature
i doubt its a simulation due to the dome around the isle
atleast thats another theory
wow
attempting to disprove a theory this is meta as fuck
anyway
I'm assuming its a drone since the nuero spino has EMP capabilities and can also change the wheater
wheather*
Ergo it uses that to change the dome's settings
theres also the chance that "The replicator" Is an AI that creates the Simulations and creatures in them
But who know's
And for the planet
you know, I'd make a comment about how it being a fossil means that it must have happened a very long time ago
but then again fossils are cool
Yea
so it might just be the cool factor
It could have been used for genetic material
or that
also
the planet theory i dont think has much standing
Considering there are ruins of buildings that are completely open
unless it's on a planet with almost exact fauna and flora to earth
and oxygen
and the same level of gravity
I doubt its another planet
But yea
It might
I was gonna say it might have been used for the strains but they were engineered from a lab right?
it's probably still earth
Yea
hard to tell when though
Well
Considering the new's clipping stating a man from pheonix corp is missing
probably 2000's
as someone stated earlier
most likely early 2000's
🤷
Idk xD
its fun to theorize tho
Even if we're completely wrong
its fun to think about what the game might be revealed to be
@meager birch @regal sundial @narrow moss and @outer mauve , read it all. tks! Up to date here.
I agree theorizing is fun, though some actual progress would be cool too.
I have seen the giant fossil below water
I have nothing to go by that.
Yeah, I agree with early ~2000s
seems to be spot on, and the whole planet thing came up in 2015 or 16, cant remember all that well.
How would it tho?
even if at some point that had that idea, it may also have changed
I mean unless they brought fauna and flora from earth
in the early 2000's they wouldn't have the tech to do that
also, you are right about the exact same conditions about earth, it would be such a longshot
yea
or a simulation
thats the only reasonable explanation other than the obvious one that its just an actual island
remember
This game is in the same universe as primal carnage
and the dino's in that game are real
well, I thought about 90s because of the PC booting noise, I had one back then and it sounded almost the same.
Is Primal Carnage confirmed or to be in the same world as the isle or is it still just "spiritual successor"
?
vaguely
They're mentioned in the isle lore
but ppl here helped me out
ah
oh you mean like the atrium stuff? the notes during loads?
Well
if you mean those, than yeah I saw them. I also own the original PC, I just didnt recall the lore.
That and
you know how the nuero spino controls the wheather?
How would a creature with EMP capabilities
nope, not really
lol
My assumption is
That it uses the EMP to control the wheather system in the dome
Which makes sense considering nuero's are extremely intellegent
Or
Its never said if nuero's can telepathically communicate to people or not
ah
So it could be when the nuero roars its controlling whoever controls the wheather panel
Or whatever does
Either way
There's most likely a wheather dome
makes sense
Ye
Well, originally, I always thought the Atrium stuff was just a nod to PC, since Atrium are essentially building aspects and not something exclusive to PCs world. but with additional mentions and all it really seem these are somehow connected.
I dont mind the connection either as both seem to add to each other universe if we are talking Phoenix Corp and Apollo Engineering.
It would be interesting to see how the competition between these companies evolved, lore wise.
Well atrium C? was used to house mainly fliers
Erge hypo quetz,Dimorph, quetz etc etc etc
And that was destroyed during an operation from pheonix
so there is competition between them in the lore
yeah, so what is hades? Have we decided if it was the Hypo Quetz or Matriarch?
or is it still up there
ok, thought so
ok, I remember there was a dispute of what hades was
Why would hade's be something that already has a code name
And why would it be a hypo quetz?
true
well now that you mentioned, the Hypo Quetz was called alfie or something (didnt like the name, lol).
not for a quetz
Alfonse was a normal quetz that escaped atrium C
ah ok
alphonse*
yeah its coming back together
ye
its been so long I saw all of these that at times its a little confusing.
Btw, hades is Hyper carno:
https://gyazo.com/1cb26a74cfa5db40266ba4f82545405e
same pic but with brightness turned up:
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/401464048610312195/455860246544646144/HADES.png
Yea
tks!
So, have you seen the updated work on the Unknown?
the new design looks incredibly creepy.
not that the original was not already
let me search for it, just a sec
10-4
welcome nightmares
lol
I know, its like 3 meters tall, maybe 9 feet...?
cause i think the cannbials had faces
uh
probably 11 feet
depends
maybe 12
well, no, at some point they were called cannibals, but later dondi just classified it as Unknown
about twice the guys height
what the fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
what is THAT!
its just too creepy, lol
Damn a wave of nostalgia just hit me
Anyway
I have no fucking clue what that thing is
Hi I’m new here how do you guys play this game ?
Walk around kill shit and drink and grow
Because I’m trying to figure out how to play and where to find the game
Well if you have it on steam just find a server
well same, the issue here is that the "thin unknown creature" gives me the creeps, encountering this thing at knight, capable of standing toe to toe with large predators is pretty scary, not sure I can take that lol.
Man
I can stand coming in contanct with that
contact*
But shit like the mastermind and the reaper? fuck that
the one i sent is from A Quiet Place
i think the "unknown" will be similar to them
Maybe
hunting wise
As in only sound?
yea
That will be an amazing game mechanic if executed well
agree
becuase the models dont have eyes
Yea
true
and rings where the ears are
Seeing the soundwaves bounce off of the environment
yea that would be incredible
indeed it would.
And when you see a creature you only see what the sound waves bounced off of
maybe an outline of it?
So if the sound hits the tail you only see that
Well sound wave's dont make an outline
they hit something then bounce
echolocation is what i think theyd be using
perhaps this is why the Neuro Spino controls the weather? to bounce more sound around to hit the environment for a complete picture? Like bats?
Uh
Probably not
Echolocation works by making a sound
Then the sound waves bounce off of what it hits
Back at you
Giving you a picture
yeah ur right
thats what bats use
still , why make it rain then?
no scent
Make itself harder to track?
ye
I mean from a realism stand point
but you are a strain... surely things run away from you.
well, yeah, I can see it against those
a trike wont run from a predator
Yea
so wont a Rex
I perceive strains like this:
Hyper = Tank / Melee
Tisso = Rogue
Neuro = Mage
true, I would
smart
think about it though
if echolocation is going to be brought it
rain will be a pain becuase the droplets scew with the sound waves
Well it paints a picture
So no
How do you think dolphins use it?
They're constantly in water
fair point
no wait
?
that's not quite correct
.e.
Bats.
sound travels through the water because it's uniform
Emphesis on rain
@outer mauve has a point there as well.
but it at the very least reduces the efficacy by a large amount
First off, there's evidence that raindrops refract the sound waves bats emit and receive, confounding their ability to navigate by echolocation.
Quote
So yea
It refracts the sound
Not completely disabling it
But making it a bitch to use
Which
Again
Would make controlling the wheather something a nuero would do when being hunted by something with echolocation
yea?
ye
oh
well
I heard a while back
the only reason we don't have scenting for full corpses is because live dinos show up too
well
with echolocation you want the live dinos to show up
so
that's pretty much echolocation right there
reskinned
Well yea
Echolocation is basically sight but slower
And with pitch dark capabilities
even little ticks you'd still hear
Or a flyer
O true
But
Its sound
It can sound like its behind you but in reality its infront of you
true true
very interesting. I don't expect playing as a Neuro / Edchina / Unknown would be easy, I mean they will be powerful n their own right, but it would take expertise to handle creatures with no sight.
Well
yea i agree
The echidna
Is a nuero on steroids
Its a human with nuero abilities
you take the smartest creature on earth
and multiply its intellect by an approximate amount
and you get something no nuero dino can match
also
The echidna has spike like limbs that it can control and shape
to me it seems that the Echidna, Colossus and Reaper are all strains in their pure forms, or humans contaminated by it. Each represents a strain for sure.
Yea
yeah,
Reaper equals a human injected with the tisso strain echidna is a human with nuero and colossus a human injected with hypoendercrin
yes, my thoughts exactly
And also
though I read somewhere that humans that came in contact with a subject were contaminated
The mastermind has also been called the queen of cannibals
or something like that
and in that same thing there was a pic of the mastermind impaling a cannibal
lemme see if i can find it
lol ive missed alot hahaha
yes, I read that as well, about queen.
new words to meh
holy jesus
it looks like something from the forest
yes, it looks creepy, and we are just talking visuals here, imagine the sounds...
ye
@outer mauve just a couple less arms
ye
im pretty sure the mastermind has optical capabilities tho
See the slit on its "face"
Probably a way to see
ye
well, cannibals, it sure looks like its eating the lesser one. But Dondi has recently clarified that the Cannibals are the tribals.
so now I am at a loss here.
N-NANIIIIIIIIII
confusion
well, I have read this, I did not hear from him directly.
so they really are the "unknown"
yeah
Well the earlier things are
ye
Alphonse and Alphie/Alpha are the same btw
w>
@regal sundial yeah, got it Bork, tks.
Also watched primeval?
Know the future predators?
That's basically the blind bastard
Also neuros have no eyes and will also operate off of echolocation
???
And neuros can telepathically communicate with anything
Where
Those are nostrils.
^
im looking at the base of the snout
Might be where a nerve splits off
Yea its where the nerve splits off where im seeing an eye
I also have the understanding that it has no eyes, Neuros are by definition sightless.
Not exactly sightless
They can see
well, I mean eye balls
Like electroreception or perhaps thermal as well
I agree that they will move somehow, just not traditionally
Thermal requires eyes
Yes it does
No, heat pits
ahhh
I don't see any on the spino
Looks like there could be some there on the tip of the snout
Might just be nerves on the end of the snout for sensing movement in the water
Electroreception is scary though
Detecting the bioelectric field of something
Thats what i mean by the nerves on the snout
If it's close you can't hide
its what crocs have for hunting
Think you're thinking of sharks
Those serve a similar function to heatpits
Apparently
They're incredibly sensitive nerves to feel current and the like
integumentary sensory
ISOs location on their skin allows them to
gather information on their environment.
The ISO distribution across crocodilians
vary in location, but are similar in morphology and function.
So yea
Tiny sensory nerves that gather info
organs*
Scenes like this are what you'll likely see from blind bastard encounters
https://youtu.be/1UKru2MUr6M?t=86
https://youtu.be/3lUxb0utMmw?t=40
tense
lol
Just FYI, not willing to derail the conversation here, but I found old concept for Tribal
dont think its still relevant though
The ooga booga guy in the top left isn't, and the chainsaw/guns aren't
Otherwise pretty relevant
what sparks my interest is that in this picture, you have tribals on the left, and the so called cannibals of the time on the right
well, the pictures there, the first time a glanced at them, made me think about stages
see, tribals seem to have some kind of sacrafice to elevate to the next tier
Mhm. I doubt any tribal will be totally normal
But it will likely vary from only slightly fucked up and super inbred looking
To stuff akin to the cannibals in The Forest
Then Blind Bastard territory
the principal that you would start human like and as you evolve eu sacrifice your features for power is tragic yet interesting from a narrative perspective.
Or perhaps stuff akin to the virginias in The Forest
principle**
ah, yeah, I can also imagine that scenario Bork, but some kind of visual progress is likely to happen
Probably the replicator will reward them for doing it's bidding
It's just being a civil intelligent human being doesn't directly relate to being a successful organism.
Just look at sharks and crocodiles, thriving and haven't changed for millenia
So it makes 'improvements' while technically sure, they're stronger, they lose their humanity
but lets keep in mind that sharks and crocs are natural beings, were as a lot of The Isle might have been "forced evolution".
wow, this was some awesome brainstorming, I kinda wanted to come back to Magnas, but I have already exausted the subject on this one, and there are no additional good questions about them I can make at this point.
Also, a few days I ago I suggested that only Carnies would have strains, but after some thought I vaguely remember one of the devs saying that herbs would also get a shot at strains.
but take this with care, I might be miss remembering.
though a Hypo Trike would be cool
I've heard they weren't planning on doing herb strains
They can change their mind on a whim but for the time being that is the information that is available
yeah, I rather stick to that.
unless we have something concreted. Besides, I am really excited with the stuff that is incoming already, so its all good.
I saw today for the first time the work on the Brachiosaurus, it looks fantastic btw.
Back
So
My guess is
Cannibals are kinda like
Regressed
tribals
But what i dont get is how they would "Evolve" Into a strain lead
My guess was they would eat the flesh of a strain
But i dont know how they would seeing as any strain could most likely both over power and outspeed a cannibal
Maybe through scavenging?
Perhaps these Cannibals used to be human, as many would suspect, and they were exposed to radiation of some kind that mutated them. Riptoor, your theory of them eating flesh from strains is also agreeable. Another theory could be that an experiment of some kind went wrong perhaps, or they purposely released Cannibals into the wild to maintain the growing dinosaur population, although that seems highly unlikely.
Idk.
Let's switch it up a bit. What if WE used to be THEM?
Ooooo now that's a theory.
Well
I dont believe humans were ever hairless primapes with a the intellegence of a goldfish and the facial structure of a tiger with down syndrome
So i highly doubt it
They're builds differ too much
So i dont think thats it
It might be that the cannibals are the failed attempts to inject the tribals with the dna of a strain
as we've seen failed strains become misfigured
So its either that or the lab had some fun and said lets put these on the island to torture the actual people
Thats my guess anyway
Or
Something affected them, and altered their DNA. Whatever that thing that affected them is, we are harvesting it for gene modification properties.
There's so many good theories. x3
i dont believe radiation would stretch out your limbs
maybe make you look like golem
but probably not stretch out your limbs to that extent
100% would not do either
Radiation makes you sick and sometimes die
There aren't drastic physical changes
Different appearance are usually done at a genetic level
Gene splicing for example
There is actually a form of bacteria that can replace certain genes with different ones
It was a huge deal in China
considering THAT is not possible via changing the genetic structure of an adult human
O rly
Where did you see that?
I mean
the cannibal
I dont mean the bacteria
I can belive that
i dont believe it can cause THAT
The fact its also uniform makes me doubt it further
Unless every example of the bacteria had the exact same effect
Look up Crispr-Cas9
I know what Crispr is
Its genetic modification
But why? Why would apollo waste so many resources on that?
Unless theres a specific reason i doubt they would waste so much time and money making basically a regressed human
I mean, they created dinosaurs. It's not too much of a stretch that they would start experiment with the human genome
Alright
But why? and why send the failures to the island
They've killed every other failed experiment
Unless it was something on the island that made them evolve that way
Maybe generations of being kept in the caves hiding from the dinos?
No no that would mean the corporation has had that technology for millenia
and the game most likely takes place in the early 2000's due to newspapers being a thing
I do believe that it's probably an alien life form. These aliens helped the organization advance their project. I think the cannibals might have alien DNA as the body shape is not seen in other life forms on earth.
So
Why would alien life
Help humans bring back extinct creatures?
They have literally nothing to gain from bringing back extinct lifeforms which dna has zero remnant
Which raises another question
The only thing i can think of
Is the replicator being alien tech
That was reverse engineered
But i dont think it was intentional
Maybe they were trying to create a weapon. The corporation actually unknowingly works for these aliens creatures. They are manipulating the corporation to take over the world.
If they were attempting to create a weapon they would be in control of the organization itself also the theory has little ground other than the cannibals aren't similar to other life on earth
And maybe the replicator being reverse engineered
IMO the cannibals remind me too much of aliens (the movie). These creatures were a bio weapon created by engineers
They were. They also use the genetic information from their host. This why they appear somewhat human like.
The aliens originated on a planet
And "Invaded" earth
They were already bipedal
Humans had little to do with it as they were already similar in physiology
Nope, they are not always bipedal. An alien comes out of a dog and it walks on four legs. They take on the trait of their host. Trust me, I nerd out on this stuff 😉 Besides, my point is that if you find the devs inspiration, it might bring you closer to the truth. I do have to go to bed now.
thats not what i mean
I mean on they're home planet they were already bi pedal
Humans had nothing to do with the bipedal nature
of course when they impregnate something bipedal the result is something bipedal
quadpedal*
And i dont think a xenomorph a creature with acidic blood a translucent skull and a tail its body length was the inspiration for this https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/the-isle-dinosaur-game/images/b/b6/Screenshot_(10).png/revision/latest?cb=20170603022825
It looks more reptilian than a-
O MAYBE THATS IT
THE ORIGINAL PLAN FOR JURASSIC WORLD WAS DINO'S INJECTED WITH HUMAN DNA
ye that looks pretty similar to me
😄
Good night!
Whats your meaning with that exactly?
Well, for me there is only 3 Alien movies which are cannon, and honestly I kind of wanted to discard the 3rd one from it. 😄
sort of Indiana Jones, there is only the trilogy, if you say there is a 4th movie I will deny its existence, lol. Or more to the point, Jurassic Park III never existed, I appreciate that JW movies make it possible to ignore that from cannon.
Honestly JP3 is kind of like the prequel trilogy to me
In hindsight it's not so bad
Like the creature design (at least on the raptors) in JP3 was good
And the like, biggest shitty thing in the plot was the annoying family (the many small plotholes) and the alan thing
This is pretty offtopic though
offtopic oof
I agree with that, its just that there are so many poor decisions, considering the mass of a genetic altered Spino, how would you listen to a satellite phone so clearly if it swallowed? Also, when the Spino is chasing them before the aviary scene, it breaks without much effort the fence that was designed to keep large creatures in, yet when they reach the lookout building at the aviary, it somehow detains it from breaking it open with average locking??? Last but not least, the Pteranodon part is pretty horrible, with them batting their wings all the time, so while there elements of the narrative that are indeed interesting (to me mostly seeing Alan Grant again and a little bit of the genesis of JP was pretty cool).
This is why I hope the Isle will go for something far more coherent than what Hollywood has been tossing around lately.
I see traces in the Isle narrative that really excites me, genetics, creation, scientists, armed personally escaping / retrieving something, some "alien" lifeform (lack of a better term as of now), and the strains all fit so well with how little we have been given to work with.
The dark tone to it works well and despite my insane love for dinos, the strains took a spot for me without much effort. It all looks so great, hence why, I trust devs to make an interesting narrative.
I hope TI will scratch that decrepit secretive /unsettling/ genetic laboratory itch
@regal sundial exactly!!! 😃
The things done there were wrong
Can you guys ruin my childhood in the other room please? Thank you
rip
TI’s narrative is just yes. I do hope aliens aren’t involved though, as personally I think it’d be far more unsettling if humans alone made the technology for this with Æ’s inhumane experiments, rather than them being puppets for aliens, as dinosaurs are enough to handle as is
on the isle's, like, original homepage for theories (or something like that, anyways), it had a list of all the confirmed and "debunked" known answers, and I'm fairly sure I saw that The Isle has nothing to do with aliens. Something I'm grateful for, since on another dinosaur game that I won't dare mention here, I was totally lost once extraterrestrials got involved in the lore.
😂
@paper herald I would think the other way around. My gut feeling, emphasis on my assumption here, if alien lifeforms were involved, I would assume something more passive, like they crash landed and died, Apollo Engineering got their remains somehow and attempted to replicate it, with certain negative outcomes. Also having alien remains does not necessarily rules out AE's achievement with dinosaur recreation, though perhaps some technology was discovered that helped with this achievement (Olympus Transmitter?).
- or, a slight variation -
Perhaps they managed to recreate dinosaurs (for whatever purpose, curious as to why they would do it) and that was the ticket in for the government to "ask for help" with their "expertise" in genetics, opening up a front from classified documents and such to understand said alien(s) beings originally being held by the military branch.
This is how I would assume alien genetics to be in without being too much on sci-fi themes.
not being, leaning***
ok so i'll entertain this alien theory with this:
What if Olympus is a planet?
transmitting data to us in earth
and acquiring workable dna from fossils is impossible with our technology
but not impossible for alien technology
shit this actually fits the narrative kinda
Well.
For one I doubt Olympus is a planet since if we take known extraterrestrial possibilities it would take 10 years for messages and that's assuming Olympus is that close
And it is a planet
You're seeing a connection where there're none
Another thing
Your all missing something in the replicators name
Replicator
It replicates
Makes something similar or exact same
It might not be alien tech or need DNA at all
well, that is true, the replicator does not seem to be the same as Olympus Transmitter, though Olympus seems to run commands for the replicator.
Considering the man behind pheonix corporation (I think) is considered the smartest man on Earth and has made multiple scientific breakthroughs
It's not too difficult to imagine he managed to use crispr in a new way
Well, DNA is something for sure, there are slots for DNA augmentations on our character sheets (gosh, brings me back do DnD, lol). The double-helix is seen several times on the menus and screens.
A replicator wouldn't Need DNA it would just need a basic model or structure
And what do we have?
Fossils
Some with blood cells
im sure dna plays a role
but logically dna doesn't last long enough to be found in dino fossils
Yeah
That's why I'm saying even alien tech wouldn't be able to do that shit
So something that replicates not creates would be more logical
but to replicate you would need an original source
Dino dna at best is 66 million years old
All the dinosaurs could be built from the ground up with no reference dna
cant copy something you havent seen before
We have computer created models of what dinosaurs would have looked from fossils
Your saying if the tech wasnt good enough you couldn't plug that into an advanced form of crispr or some genetic engineering tool and get a dino?
Ok, lets get into genetics, it seems at this point very unlikely that we will recover dinosaur DNA, ever, we are having trouble with the frozen Mammoth which is much "younger". Also, while I do disagree with Dr. Jack Horner on several things, he did made an interesting argument based on several attempts to extract DNA from the fossils, all failed.
As @tiny carbon said
DNA mapping is a thing
once we understand what code creates what behavior, part ,etc...
we can make a dinosaur
this is essentially what Dr. Wu said in the movies
and is more realistic based on todays knowledge
It seems that science is able to do all but the tail
but we wouldn't know what characteristics make a dinosaur a dinosaur
Thousands of years ago
They have remenants of dna thanks to being frozen
But Dino's?
Fuck no
We have zero evidence of how they lived other than tooth and claw marks and maybe footprints and shit stuck in they're stomachs
We have successfully created a bird with teeth
aliens took dino samples before they died off
as an embryo
boom alien theory confirmed
:>
lol
A chicken has dormant genes that activate some dinosaur like genes
still i doubt they could create a giant sauropod from a chicken
at best you'd end up with a small theropod raptor
WHICH IS WHAT I MEAN WHEN I SAY THE REPLICATOR MIGHT BE CRISPR
but still
it'd be like trying to create a whole different animal
dinosaur is a huge umbrella term
nychus or suchus?
Give an alligator longer legs strenghed legs and different skeletal structure
since these are actual dinosaurs, something must guarantee that the default dinos are exact replicas
They're not exact replicas
so apart from the artificial strains, these natural dinosaurs came from somewhere
Rex doesn't have feathers
Neither does the utah
They're not exact
THEYRE REPLICASSSS
There are recent papers that debunked the feathers on rexes btw.
"debunked"
tks Toa
Go to paleo chat and I'll explain, if you want.
Anyway
sorry to sidetrack this convo but i have a little stupid question
Go ahead
I will assist you with the zucc if I can.
xD
So long as it’s theory related
the fact that the hyper rex and neuro spino look like the hulk and alien queen respectively. Is it a in-universe or out-of-universe reference. meaning do those pieces of popular culture pieces exist inside the game lore, cause if they do who's to say jurassic park isn't a thing inside the game lore?
the isle has its pop culture references
No
The references aren't explicit, nor are they concrete.
here's where i was going with this
The devs don’t own any rights/licenses to those that we know of
You could say the "cannibal" (whatever the fuck it is) took some inspiration from a xenomorph.
@placid harness agree on that
Anyway
This is expanding a bit more so into isle discussion
