I've never seen any difference in having it on or off, except that when it's on you weren't able to use admin commands to change the time of day manually. As I'm assuming the command is executed in the same way that the weather commands are, I would think that it would also affect you from changing the weather even though I've not tested this before. All I know is that the setting doesn't affect anything when it's on or off, and that when it's on it breaks the time of day admin commands, and I assume it might break the weather too

Hmm ok. I have never had an issue changing the time, but I will definitely give it a go 🙂 I tried to change the server start time but that seems to be static, too. 🙂

Yeah the server start time doesn't do anything either. There's a lot of settings that were used for old systems that have been removed and really we need to make a list somewhere of what commands are still supported, which ones break things, and which ones actually do things

pingperfect is a decent price, for thenyaw servers. and the server slots are so damn cheap-

It depends, if your just starting out. I would recommend thenyaw and 20 slots. It’s only 12 dollars a month without addons.
If you want to go big right away, get extra memory (So It can handle isle v3). And around 100 server slots. And SSD and CPU priority it’s gonna be 76$
also small server slots for thenyaw, since it’s already a pretty small map.
As your server grows, and starts earning donations. And other stuff like that, start to addon to the server.
Also @sweet socket are you trying to go into your control panel, or your account itself? If it’s your control panel you should have received a email with your username and password it’s separate from your account itself. If it’s your account please contact ping perfect’s customer support

I know PingPerfect lets you disable any dino in game, i.e RexAdultS or TrikeAdultS if on survival. Same with sandbox, i.e Shant or Stego. All of this is done in their Configuration Files.

Are you sure? Pushed delete key to ensure you can see all players and Ai around you? It should trigger spawns from around 80% hunger

Are you hosting it on the same machine that you're trying to play on?
Have you set a different Port for the server to run on, than the standard port that your game client might be trying to use?
That might (potentially) be a reason for you not being able to see it locally.

Please try not to tag all of the staff regarding this issue, but you have to open a dedicated server to use it with your friends by renting a server or portforwarding one. When you click on "Host" for a server while in-game, it is only putting you in a world that only you can access, as far as I know you can't invite your friends to that server
If you look in the pinned messages, there is a link that explains how to set up a dedicated server

The respawn timer is only available on sandbox game mode. There is no way to enable sandbox dinosaurs on a survival game mode. If you wish to have sandbox dinosaurs you must inject them

Which dinosaur are you trying to set as?
Have you made sure the person you’re changing isn’t logged in? Have you tried some different dinosaurs to test if it’s just that one you’re trying or could it be something with the file you might be doing wrong?

@glad isle Make sure the person safe logged if you haven't tried it first. Also make sure you are editing the right player data (if you have survival/sandbox edit the survival/sandbox file). It could happen that you have 2 play datas of the same person if you changed from survival to sandbox.

I don't believe that locking the server to a password works right now. In fact I'm not sure if it ever really worked because I never ran into servers that had it, just servers that were restricted to Steam Groups

@granite star it depends on how many players you want at the same time and which map u want to run on it since V3 will take mostly 3-4gb without any players to run smoothly. If you want to run a stable 50 member slot server then u need at least 16gb. But I would suggest u to use a ECC Ram if you rlly want to do this for the future and for a long time. I use 32gb ecc with 100 slots and I already use 18-20gb of it when all slots are used. I hope it helps u a bit.

And simply ask your friend for the name of their server and put it into the search bar on server list in game, unless they hosted their private one via “host” button in menu, that one I believe is only accessible by them

If all of these run at 1 server (VPS/VDS) - I'd assume the ram requirement would be around 10-12? if not more.
How much ram would i expect to be needing on the server, in order to run 3-4 filled isle servers; eventually more?

10-12gb wouldn’t be enough for 3 or more filled servers. One server with V3/Thenyaw needs 4-5gb and you will need around 5gb per 100. So if you wanna run like 4 servers then I would say >36gb or more. It would be cheaper to run dedicated servers on ur own pc with a 64gb kit.

@full cliff idk about nitrado but there should be something like configuration datas. It should say "[/script/theisle.igamesession]" at the beginning of the script. Now you just need to add "ServerAdmins= and the unique steam ID"

Just think the 9900k will be better due to double core & thread count, higher freq & cache, bigger memory bandwith on benches the 9900k is roughly 44/70% faster in single core, multicore scenarios

Yes you can.

You can disable global chat. But you can’t disable chat in general.
Which sucks because there are two options, disable global chat, and disable chat. Only global chat can be disabled. Ai can’t be disabled or adjusted, and disabling name tags hasn’t ever worked for me or my staff unless we disable our hud or turn it off in our settings. But having them disabled in the server doesn’t work.

I Saw Oil post this some months ago - it turns out i have the same issue on my dedicated server, which just got set up yesterday.
My server posts the exact same error code then crashes - but mostly it runs fine .. it happened 4 times roughly in a 24 hour time period
The notepad screens are mine - i only see 1 other post regarding this, but not any idea for any fixes.
Server has over 63 gigabyte ram free, 900 gb drive & runs at 4% cpu usesage at the time of crash
10ish active players out of 50 slots in total
We did a earlier test with 126+ players without a crash on a seperate server
I've tried to google around, but sadly no help.

The difference between our 126 test was only the level - which was Isle v3
The DM server above (the images with the error) is DV Test Level
Same server for both i mean - seperate server as in just another server opened on the dedicated server.

can run 2-3-4 servers for hours no issue.. Its just, even if i run a single server only; this error happens once a while.
example here: server opened earlier morning - roughly 11 hours after, it crashes with that error & it reopns (and run fine since then)
Its just those small random crashes i kinda wanna get rid of :/
(This is my own logging to track .. i have full error files, but it basically just shows whats stated in my original post)

The servers doesn't have a automatic restart atm - I'm adding restart up once every 24th hour here later.
(But then it still crashed within a 11 hour frame)
This one here (Deathmatch) does have frequencies with 0 players for a couple of hours, I'd say it lays around 10-20 ish in average for a day.
Could it just be general the isles server hosting system in UnrealEngine that decides to play ballgames with me? 😦

I happened to be the one that had to deal with that for Oil when it happened. I will have to say the reasons it happened to us was due to corrupted player files within the server. Have you tried a player file wipe? Also another thing that can cause this is dryos crashing the server

This here is with a fresh server, 1 day old - so the playerfiles are really limited!
And I've been checking chatlogs around the time it has happened since i haven't been around, no much dryo or burrow talk since its Deathmatch server (the small DV Test Level map)
and in a span of 1½ day it has crashed roughly 3-4 times

That's because I handled it not Oil, he wouldn't know much of what I did. I do recommend having a scheduled restart though as these crashes can happen just from stress on the server

From what it looks like it is very similar to what we experienced. I still believe your issue is either player file related or players attempting the crash as those were the same errors that occurred during those instances.

That is the most common one and the most reported. There could be other ways not reported to us, but that is the only one that I can think of.
Corruption of player files can happen easily though
I would recommend as a test you can make a backup of your player files (even the little amount you have) then wipe them from the server and reopen it and watch for crashes
If the crashes happen in the same intervals during those 24hrs you know you have another issue on your hands
Make sure you do a scheduled restart once during those 24hrs though

If not try this:
(1) Delete everything and set it up again.
(2) While you are in Steam CMD and install it (with "log in...", "force...", "app_update 41268") > quit it.
(3) Open Steam CMD again, log in as annonymous and type "app_update 41268 validate"
(4) Now continue like you did befor.
It should fix some server datas and updates the older or missing files.

@heavy garden You have to go to the server settings. On the left or right site should be a menu called "settings" and click "configuration file". Now put this inside the file "ServerAdmins= and ur steam ID".

@slender arrow On asura we have it custom coded - we have multiple tools to inject dinosaurs (edit .json files depending on the user request)
our point bot is custom coded as the only one in The Isle - and i also do believe we are the only server with AUTOMATED injections per dinosaur buy/request.
Other servers take points manually off people (theres a point bot called unbelievabot .. asuras is custom coded by ourselves)
so if you say you wanna buy anky, they check your points - take them, then edit your .json file to give you an anky. (Isla Nublar i believe does this)
On Asura we have an entire admin webpage up, that loads the players file through FTP (to the game server) & then that webpage edits the file based on the input an admin give. What makes our bot being able to automaticly inject the dinosaurs is that it sends an API request to the webpage to do the chances that a player do with !db or !dr
Thats also where admins goes if a file failed to do it manually
its not something thats publicly available to download - its something we custom coded ourselves from the buttom, without any modding or external programs installed on our server atleast
This means if we have 2 admins or 100 admins - no admin do have access to the servers files, databases or anything.
They get access to our admin tool that we've developed to automate these things. For better security

If not = You run it on a machine where u have steam running on as well. Close steam and run the server. Make sure u don't play on the same machine since it's not possible.
edit: if it shouldn't help try to reset ur firewall on ur machine where ur server is on as well.

Nope, but i figured that if i didn’t use multihome (back at start) it did use the port - if i remember correctly
Does multihome makes it run more stable when multiple servers at on? Or doesnt it really matter as long each server has a port.
Nothing currently active uses the same port - all servers are divid with two ports seperate from others
@slender arrow we use a FTP connection to connect from the admin tool to our gameserver.
Then our admin tool uses Ajax to get & post out from either the users or our bots input > then it sends it to the specific players database json file

I feel bad for doing it here since it isn’t server hosting related. Our discord bot has our own current system that is handcoded too - it uses a database obviously.
It checks the bot for a dinosaurs Price > takes the money from the database > sends signal to our admin tool on website to do the file/dino change.. if everything went smooth the user gets a DM with its done, if they dont have enough points or if it failed.
Then we have logs over all buys and file changes on our admin tool, and we have a full overview of all buys on all servers on discord
We also have steam API included so we can see the players Nicks out from the steam id they put in a request.

I would suggest to do a winsock reset. Go to the machine where u want to play the isle. Use CMD as admin type "netsh winsock reset". Reboot pc and it should work. Otherwise I'm gonna have a look on it again when I have time later 😅

Hello, i have a very serious question to ask concerning servers.
Can one server owner try to shut down a brand new server for literally no reason other than the owner of the older server drove off one of their admins with how very poorly they handled a situation that wasn't an issue to begin with, and said admin is admin on the new server as well? The admin they pushed away has been friends with the new server's owner for months, and is admin on said server to teach the new server's owner how to use the admin abilities and how to inject and such. But then the older server's owner pushed said admin away, and now said admin is an actual admin on the newer server, so the admin can be with their friends.
Sorry if that makes no sense. I can explain better if needed, i'm just waking up lol.

Unofficial servers have full domain over themselves. Whatever drama or situations happen between private server owners and admins would be something that would need to be settled by those involved.

I asked cuz another server's owner is threatening to try and shut down my not even 3 day old server all cuz my good friend Ash is admin on my server, and cuz she left his server last night after he threatened to strip her of her adminship on his server for being on mine to teach me. This issue is literally all one sided, it's all on his side, lmao. The rest of us have just kinda shrugged at it and moved on.

So okay. I have a dedicated server. After I launch it and open Isle and search the name it says "map" unknown. Even if I've chosen the map.
After restarting my PC and again launching the server and searching it, I can't even find it it says "no servers found" or whatever it says.

@karmic mist If your server has been displayed once then you have made no mistakes. Do you have enough RAM or is ur CPU strong enough to host a server? If you can join your server again maybe wait a little bit longer? Otherwise (if you haven't already done it) put ?listen next to Isle_V3 (example: .../Isle_V3?listen?game=survival?...)

No one is able to find my server in-game. I had the server working for months before but just a couple of days ago I started it and when I tried to go onto it I couldn't find it. Everything's the same and I don't know what I'm doing wrong or if I am doing something wrong. I even re-built the server.

Welp, I figured out my issue. I had to change the Server INI's ports to 27015, 27016 instead of the default 7777, 7777.

@arctic apex I assume by control panel you mean you're using the rented servers ban that saves it in the config? If so, I might have it wrong but it probably doesn't work properly as the bans are handled in actual files now, rather then in the config. If that is the case then you would have to manually do the ban(s) ingame. Feel free anyone to correct me as I could be wrong, but I imagine it could be something like that.

In the tab list (player list) the ban is a 24hr ban from what I've heard, but if you use commands, aka. /ban you can choose a time, doing /help if you're an admin will show you a list of commands you can use.

I looked at the 3 possible solutions in this guide and I still had my friend able to join, but i couldnt find the server. either from in game or from the steam>view>servers

I too had to enable dmz to get my server to show up

i changed both and restarted. I was able to then launch steam and get in to where i can search for the server and still would not pop up, verified with friend and he is able to get in

It may can happen sometimes that The Isle won't show you all the servers. I would suggest you to close the game after running your bat file and try to search for it again. Do this a few times if it's not showing up.
If still nothing happens, then something is wrong with your ports.

@cinder cedar so the issue is when running on the same pc if steam.exe the one you run to run the game is used which prevent you to play the game, so the best way is to run a vm to run the server otherwise it uses the default client.

I ask this because the if the newest map truly is 3 times as large as v3 then we need at least 500 people. That sort of brings me to my next question. Will the isle still have official servers?

@paper quartz That part of the tutorial isn't really well named. You're not setting up a static IP for your "Internet". You're actually just setting a static IP for the machine hosting the dedicated server on your LAN network.
A better way to do that (IMO), would be to assign a Static IP Lease from your router/gateway device. If you have a standard home router, this should be possible but the specific steps are brand/model specific. Just google something like "<Your Router Model Number> static DHCP" and you should be able to find a guide on doing this.
You'll need the MAC (Physical) address of the machine hosting the dedicated server handy as well. You can get that by using the "ipconfig /all" command from a Command Prompt (CMD) window.

I would personally add port rule exceptions into Windows firewall specifically, rather than rely on that.
Open up the Windows Firewall settings, then click on the "Advanced settings" option.
Click "Inbound Rules" on the left panel.
Click "New Rule" on the right panel.
Select "Port", Next
Select "TCP", and use "Specific local ports:" and enter "7777,7778,27015,27016", Next
Allow the connection, Next
Leave Domain, Private, and Public all selected, Next
Name it something like "Isle Server TCP", Finish
Repeat the above steps with a new rule, but change TCP to UDP, and name it something like "Isle Server UDP".
Then I'd delete whatever rule was automatically generated by Windows Firewall. Normally it just allows all network traffic generated by or destined to the exe you allow. Not very secure IMO.

If your router has UPNP or something like that enabled, it could matter.
UPNP tries to auto-negotiate allowing traffic in/out of your network.
And sometimes it just sucks. Dedicated port forward/firewall rules are required for serving things.

I just setup a server for the first time today following that guide, and it's working just fine.
Maybe try launching SteamCMD again, logging in as anonymous, and attempting an apt_install to make sure your server is up to date?

The issue is a post on a discussion board is good for advertising, but not for stress testing.
Discussion board will net people who happen to read through it. Discord generally has hundreds of people online at any given time.
So for a stress testing perspective, a discussion board post isn't really useful unless you can somehow coordinate a time for people to slam the server.

Iirc (if you can access folders) in Saved place a text document in there with the name MOTD and add what you want in there. Restart the server and it should pop up

Port number you should use are:
TCP From 7777 To 7778
UDP From 27015 To 27016
If you should have a problem with the ports go one number higher (7778-7779).

Hello all! I was wondering what the correct command line in order to enable the Oasis map on a dedicated server would be? I have tried "Mods/Oasis/Oasis?" similar to the Frozen North command line, but this gives me an 'unable to find map' error. I suspect it's just an outdated map [like region 2 for example] , and if this is the case then my issue would make sense. If this is a no no, I apologize in advance. Just playing around tbh.

Ok, so you’re going to need to change the player permissions in the code for your server
You need to go to your isle file and edit the file with the game information
It should be saved in the bat file or the Game.ini file
If that doesn’t work, or you don’t see anything, you need to be sure you’re logging in as annoymous every time, or you may need to change the default ports in the bat file.

Yeah, basically all you can do is put your invite link in the MOTD and the players will have to copy it.

I changed the ports in the bat file, and login as anonymous, the server is detected by friends and steam, but I am still unable to join. I am unsure about what player permissions in the Game.ini file you are referring to. This is what is in my Game.ini file: [/script/theisle.igamesession]

@mental bison Can you find your own server? The question is do you run the server on the same machine where you play The Isle? If yes it's not possible to host and play on the same machine.

@vague oasis This is what the the first paragraph of step 1 stated: "In the first few steps I will be showing you how to host a dedicated server with the help of SteamCMD. In the future I might do the extra steps if you just want to use the actual The Isle Dedicated Server Steam tool, but for now this is the "easiest" way + this way you can play at the same time as the server is being hosted." According to the author of the guide you can host and play on the same computer with this method. I also already tried removing multihome and already added listen to the .bat. I have gone over the tutorial countless times and, I can assure you, if I missed something, it is most likely not on that page.

@sleek aurora All you can try is to put the -nosteam command at the end of your script (next to ur port ip). If it's still not working you can't host and play on the same machine.

The Isle doesn't have RCON. And no, just admins.

I have used https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1502947359 guide to create a dedicated server. It worked for months, then suddenly my pc broke and I fixed it but I tried to use the server and it didn't show up when I tried to find it but it does this.

@merry urchin You need the close or kill steam (if you already started steam). It should work now, otherwise put the -nosteam command into your script (next to the ip id).
If you want to host and play on the same machine it can give you some struggles!
