Hello there i need some help with a self hosted server of mine. I want to play the pack with two of my friends and one of them is simply unable to join no matter what we do. The console always says he times out or disconnects. The exact way it plays out is like this:
Friend joins server
console reads his uuid and tries to connect him
teh server says he joined the world and his player model is put in the server
he stands in the server for some time, we cant push him around but we can hit him (don't know if that registers on his end)
he disconnects with either the console saying its a time out or a simple disconnect
as soon as the server says he disconnects his game laods and he is falling in a void world already at -20k blocks and he properly disconnects soon after
This pack is the only modpack where this happens, we have never had another pack not work in this way. He managed to connect exactly once before and we still have no idea how he managed that, but he couldnt replicate it anymore after that. The same issue also happens when using something like essential,luna,e4mc or other world hosting mods that let friends join singleplayer worlds.
We have tried many things already msot notable of which being:
- the lowest settings mc could somehow allow
- java arguments for garbage collection and other bits'n bobs
- adding performance mods / removing cosmetic mods like fancy menus
- testing different java versions to see if newer oens have better performance
We are at a complete loss at what we should do now and any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

7.2 gb usable ram (15ish extra as zram / swap)
AMD Ryzen 5 4500U
AMD Radeon Vega integrated graphics
6.18.8 linux kernel
I know his laptop is old and not very good but we've gotten it to play games it really shouldn't have been able to and this pack aswell has worked in the past at around version 0.9.7 i believe
