Hello all,
I recently discovered that the bloomery doesn't produce any items after beeing lit and waiting for 16 minutes on four consequtive tries (48 Items). I tried replacing the bloomeryblock and rebuilding the bloomery, but it still produced nothing.

I appended some pictures and a video of the slag disappearing after the bloomiery timer ran out.

Thanks in advance!

I also recorded the bloomery items dissapearing (Sorry for the bad quality, I don't have a screen recorder on linux right now)

what exactly are you dropping into it? how many and in what order?

For the first attempt I dropped Rich magnetite ( A full stack, the rest dropped out which was around 28 pieces) and a full stack of charcoal (same here, used a full stack and collected the dropped rest) - The next try I did with charcoal first and rich magnetite, then I used normal magnetite and charcoal and then charcoal and normal magnetite again

(again, the last two attempts with full stacks, and then I collected the rest that dropped out)

There was also a problem right after building- and rebuilding the bloomery, and that is, that the first times I dropped magnetite and coal in there, I saw the unburnt slag appear, only for it then to dissapear a second later and dropping everything again. After that, it took the items normally (although, without producing an output)

the bloomery can only hold 48 items total, if you drop a full stack of anything and pick up the rest then nothing else you drop into it will actually go into the bloomery, you need to balance both of the items so that when the iron gets created its as close to a multiple of 144 and for each multiple of 144 you also need a single piece of charcoal in the bloomery, an ideal ratio you can use is, if you grind the magnetite into magnetite dust you can throw 19 dust and 17 charcoal and youll get 17 slag, the same ratio applies to anything that smelts into 129mb of cast iron

Ah I understand, I'll give it a try!

22 charcoal to 25 dust is another good ratio

hey, I wanna jump in because I'm having a similar issue with the bloomery.
I'm not a native English speaker, so please confirm if I understood correctly: if you drop in too much metal, instead of working partially, it just deletes everything you threw in?
That kinda sucks ngl...
Is there a website calculator like for the anvil that we can use? I'd like to avoid doing maths if at all possible

it's not that complicated, throwing in 24:24 only loses you 2 charcoal

when I tried 24 and 24 a couple times everything just disappeared, that's why I'm apprehensive.
I kinda wish the bloomery was more automatic in that sense, and could just figure it out on its own if a user throws is a stack of iron material and one of charcoal

there's a steam bloomery
