Look at our current economy:
Money is constantly being printed, and destroyed at the same time making it balanced.
BYTES as a currency was a much more concrete currency that has a way for a lot of outlets (ways for it to get destroyed)
Now WORLD LOCKS as a currency would be much harder to use as a currency because it wouldn't make sense stuff like shops. Gems are example made sense to use in shops and Locks simpley didnt have that. If we continued using locks then just like Growtopia the intire economy would've been inflated.
Because world locks are never destroyed.
(I think this is the MAIN reason, but i could be wrong)
