long story short i accidentally deleted a config file, my fuckin laptop died right as i was tryna fix it and i didnt clock it and now im stuck on the main hyprland screen w litterally no keybinds working. i managed to get them working again, had the whole thing running and as SOON as i go to appl a shell it just ruins it again and i have no idea why. i dont have anything i can use like a usb to sort it out and just reinstall so i konda need to fix it somehow. idk what tags to put for this so ig i just chose 4

Sounds like your Hyprland config is crashing/reloading into a broken state whenever a shell starts!!

idefk atp. i managed to get it going to a fixed state no packages and had just the terminal. tried getting noctalia again the same way i did the first time and now its hit me eith 30+ errors all at once and completely overidden the hyprland.conf file so nome of the binds work

Yeah, if you deleted something and kept using the system afterward, then you probably can't recover it anymore, at least not with normal tools. For the future, always back up important stuff.

at first the issue was i accidentally deleted a config file which just so happened to mess everything up

then i got hyprland working sgain had the binds working

what im thinking tho is would another shell cause the same issue since from what i could see the shell was in a noctalia folder

Then reinstalling noctalia

If you run that as root, your shell will pick the root user's home directory instead of your's so yeah it won't work
