I am completely new to linux.
During the Arch Install I chose i3-wm in the Profiles section as a desktop environment, and I had zero idea of what it would look like.
Then I loaded Arch Linux through the grub menu, signed in to the device's user account and here's what the desktop screen looks like now.
So far the only thing I was able to do was connect to my WiFi, but that's about it, so I feel like it's best to change from this to KDE Plasma, but I dont know how.

i3 will still be on your system unless you remove the i3-wm package but you will have the option to use KDE Plasma when you login

Those "Advanced options" are to select older kernels and brtfs snapshots if you're using brtfs

There, installation seems to be done (I apologize for the glitched screen)
Now all that's left to do is reboot the device and choose KDE when I login, I suppose

then, if you get it working, make sure to upgrade everything with sudo pacman -Syu
(and restart again)

i3 comes with more than the i3 package, also you left remnents behind.
sudo pacman -Rns i3-wm i3status i3lock dmenu you may also want to nuke i3 folders lingering around.

Yeah, i3 has a very small footprint anyways, its not like they did the opposite and swapped from KDE to i3, that woulda been super messy.

god i know. my first install of linux when i was like 14 needed wiped and reinstalled cos i installed KDE ontop of Gnome and couldn't figure out how to remove everything.
