so i messed with switching to integrated and back for the benifit of using HALF the wattage, but i forgot how to install intel's integrated graphics so i had to go back to 4200m and then videos stopped working for varoius rasons.

ah yes, the pinnacle of janky nvidia setups on 2013 laptops
the intel integrated graphics are controlled by the i915 driver, which i believe should be part of mesa
but given this, it might also be disabled in bios
