#Chromium browsers have erratic scrolling speeds with a trackpad.

Issue:
Using any chromium based browser has a pretty fast scrolling speed compared to firefox based browsers, I am unable to change it or find a way to change it within the browser settings. There is a comparison video attached to this thread that demonstrates Helium on the left, and Librewolf on the right. The scrolling on chromium browsers also has no elastic scrolling (also known as overscroll), and I've also noticed this affecting electron apps (such as the native Discord/Vesktop app).

Usually, scrolling through discord is absolutely awful (worse than scrolling on chromium browsers), but when connected to AC with my power-profile-daemon being set to Performance, it has the same scrolling effect as any other chromium browser.

Note that there is 0 issue when using a mouse or trackpoint - this only happens with a trackpad.

Specs:

  • ThinkPad T14 G3 (Intel)
  • i5-1245U
  • 32GB DDR4
  • Arch Linux with 6.18.9-3-cachyos (same issue with the regular linux kernel)
  • KDE Plasma 6.5.5 // Wayland

Disabling smooth scrolling doesn't seem to do anything either
