What you describe is a GPU / display stack freeze, not a full system freeze.
GPU?
RTX 3060 (tripple fan if it matters)
Try switching TTY when it freezes. If that works -> GPU/compositor issue confirmed.
What is the output of
pacman -Qs nvidia
uname -r
?
i‘ll try it later thx 🙏
uname -r:
6.18.2-zen2-1-zen
I had problems with this already; I accidentally uninstalled my drivers, nice people here helped me so this should normaly be fine
Ok freeze now
Strg alt F2 doesn’t do anything
No, ctrl+alt+F2?
Make sure you have linux-headers and re-run sudo mkinitcpio -P and reboot.
Oh year strg is ctrl on my keyboard
Forgot to say that
That fine.
Did you install linux-headers and run sudo mkinitcpio -P?
I’m doing it later I’m going to eat now it’s christmas evening for me😀
pacman -S linux-headers
sudo mkinitcpio -P
Right?
Okay, Garuda Linux does not use mkinitcpio by default anymore.
Run sudo dracut -f and reboot
Okay now I‘ve been using my pc for about 2 hours straight and it froze again
TTY doesn‘t open
That is all the output?
Yeah, it’s an OS issue. It doesn’t like something about your hardware.
Yes
My ram that is litterally split in half? But I got it like that from amazon, new
Do you think I should switch to another linux?
Maybe, if you don’t have a lot of data on there, you can try something like Linux Mint or another distro to make sure it’s not the OS.
Ive got about 200gigs of space used here
If you have another drive, you can back it up there.
yes i've got two
maybe I'll do it but I like kde plasma so I need to find a good mint but thanks for helping
do you thing endeavour os is better for me, it's arch but maybe it will work
It should work fine, to my knowledge.
