other than that, research display managers and window managers / desktop environments, it just really starts with comparing and contrasting what looks good to you

I watch videos and find pictures as a sort of inspiration but realistically I’ve gotten to the point I can just read documentation of certain packages and I can figure out how to use them okay

for example once you’ve got a basic hyprland config figured out, look up waybar, it’s like a custom status bar, it blends pretty well with hyprland

the documentation is pretty easy to use and you can look up videos to figure out inspiration

I’m not an expert on Linux or ricing but I legitimately just go into rabbit holes of what I find cool, you just need a browser with a search engine and a text editor

what I found to be helpful was this video I’ll link you, it kinda gives you a good idea of what all you’d need to plan for

but a simple setul hyprland and waybar should do the trick

they both have real good documentation

also i can recommend just stealing someones rice editing to your favor to learn how to do it

after a while you can just make ur own with wiki

the docs were pretty easy to understand, same with ly display manager, their config and ini files have good comments as well so they walk you through everything
