I foolishly tried installing arch for the first time, when I have 0 experience with Linux. I have tried two things thus far.

1: followed this video: https://youtu.be/FxeriGuJKTM?si=HaS9bytRKZTZuKET - I used archinstall, it seemed successful but no internet connection, my wifi device that worked in the live environment (wlan0) didn't appear when using iwctl in the console of the GNOME environment.

I then figured out how to restart the installation process and got into live environment again only to

2: followed this video https://youtu.be/5DHz23VQJxk?si=m-pqzaX3BFe5EZek - everything went perfectly, but once again, it seems I don't have any wifi connection, iwctl isn't even found, when using nmtui, wlan0 doesn't show up at all.

I cant figure out how to restart the installation, how to get back to the live environment.

I'm looking to do one of the following:

  1. Figure out how to get a wifi connection, so I can continue with the second guide
  2. Restart installation from my usb, and install arch in some wiser way
  3. Somehow get a friend to help, download windows 11 (ouch) or maybe some other distribution on to the usb that I have with me, and somehow install that, then learn enough about Linux to someday try again with arch.

I currently only have access to an iphone and a Samsung tablet.

The laptop in question is a surface pro 5

Will post whatever I attempt to do in the meantime. Let me know if there's anything else that would help you support this sad, sad case.
