First note: I am new to linux, like a week or so. But I have used Windows for 25+ years iirc. I installed, at the suggestion of a friend of mine, Arch Linux, Big variation.
I reformatted and installed Linux on my OS-dedicated SSD HDD (500gb), that originally had Windows 10 on it.
My games and other accessories are installed on the 1TB SSD HDD which I left as is, without reformatting since Windows 10. It is mounted.
I set Steam's default game drive to the 1TB drive which still had the games installed and it rebuilt all game files left there from the Windows install to Linux, and I played them just fine, until they had to update. Steam even installed Proton 10 (and later 9 to test if it was a version issue), which I use for some games so they can access Beta variations, or just work properly.
Most games work just fine, but exclusively (so far) Bladur's Gate 3, Helldivers 2, and Mechwarrior 5 all give Disk Write Errors, which blocks updates or straight up game installation.
Note: I did play some Helldivers 2 for a bit before the update hit, then it gave me the aformentioned error.
I even successfully installed Astroneers within Arch Linux and play it just fine, so it seems to be game specific.
I looked up for help for this, and all the issues revolve around Steam Flatpack--I am using Native Steam that came by default with the Arch Linux install, not the Flatpack.
I removed the download folder in steam to force a full refresh of the files, didn't help.
Suffice to say I am stumped and in need of help, as I am sure there are things that have not been installed that I need to? Or a proverbial switch that needs to be flipped?
The screenshot shows only one of them with the error, because I didn't feel like waiting for hours for them to attempt and get the error for each, since it restarts the downloads upon powering up my pc: so only one visibly has it.
