I use Zen Browser (Flatpak).
When clicking Spotify links, e.g. in Discord Spotify opens in the browser. However it used to ask me whether I want to open it in the app. I once missclicked and now it doesn't ask anymore.

Neither the Internet, nor ChatGpt, nor my own screwing around in various settings helped btw.

make sure to add your spotify client in the "application preference order"
