so i dont know if my steam install or if the version of wine i have installed is fucked but this memory leak is getting crazy.
I have provided an image that shows my computer resources. if you look at Memory and Swap on the left side of the graph is when i am actively in game, the middle drop off is when i closed out to main menu, and the big drop is when i closed the game fully.
This happens on every steam game i play. not on Heroic, Sober, or Minecraft. Just Steam.
i have disbaled things like ReBar 4g decoding in BIOS. and i have no idea what the actual cause is. but i know its a leak realating to or within Wine or Wine64.
what do i do to fix this?

Okay, I'm out rn so when im home in like 20-30 I'll update you
currently downloading the update. then ill load into a game and play it for about an hour or less and update you
Doesnt work sadly
@marsh nest hello?
@rancid saffron are you fully up to date?
uhh lemme run yay -Syu rq
no need for -Syu, because yay does that for you
for pacman it's needed
don't do that
wdym
so then what do i run for yay?
yay
youre joking...
nope
ive been running yay -Syu this whole time
but also. not like thisll do anything. the leaks has been going on for months
add a ! to debug packages in your makepkg.conf https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/pacman/-/blob/main/makepkg.conf#L100
this makes it so you can't install debug packages
likke this?
orphan packages?
@rancid saffron as in those debug packages you installed
oh
my issue is still not fixed
@marsh nest so i found out that its only coming from within steam. not heroic
