well, the title says most of it,
i found that using export VDPAU_DRIVER=radeonsi
export LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME=radeonsi works. but only temporarily, if i reboot and i run vdpauinfo says the error again, i tried having a exec-once on my hyprland config would fix that, but, nay, it still defaulting to a non present nvidia driver
#[SOLVED]vdpau is defaulting to a nvidia driver not present, i have only one gpu, rx 5700xt

arch linux + hyprland, and i ran linutil to help me get the gaming dependencies, i thing maybe there lies the problem. but yeah.
also. ryzen 7 1700x, and a msi gaming pro x470 motherboard. if maybe that gives extra info
I suggest you go on TTY and make sure you edit there
And when you need to check
Just type hyprland and it'll run hyprland
If it is not fixed
Exit hyprland
And try again
That's help for the thing
Not for nvidia yet
This is just like ease of use
Wait
What am I speaking
My brain hurt
haha, i think you didnt understood the help i need XD
i am not having problems with hyprland, i am having problems with vdpau
Also you can add "export LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME=radeonsi" in the hyprland config
i did that
Hmmm
i am not having problems with vaapi, it is working nice
just vdpau
vaapi gets my gpu just fine
vdpau defaults to a non present nvidia driver, (that i dont need because i only have one gpu, and that gpu is amd)
i can run the VDPAU_DRIVER=randeonsi, but it is temporary, i dont want to run that everytime i turn on my pc and log in to hyprland
and, i only have hyprland, so, there is no way another DE is getting on the way
.bashrc?
But then it'll run everytime you open terminal...
maybe should i try on /etc/environment?
there i hav the qt-qpa platform and the xdg menu setting
like, i dont know if i should tackle the problem on another aspect
well, i expect that when i type vdpauinfo, it gives me the info of the gfxcard i have, and not the error i am currently recieving,
i suspect that that is why when i want to play vrchat on vr (using alvr) it doesnt launch, but, i have to test that another way, and i know how to work on that
what i dont know how to set is, vdpau, to the driver i do have, wich is radeonsi
My brainuvjm mmgmtrly melt

I'm back
My brain broke
yo, fera, if you dont know thats not a problem, but, i mean
i am asking for support
There should be a file on there that-
Wait
Can't you add that command onto GRUB?
The e button when options appear
i am using system-d boot
...........
[ Your system ran into a critical error and needs to restart ]

haha chill
i understand that, just, it isnt what i need XD
but youknowwhat? i would defenitely like to talk more with you
but again
i need help with vdpau
Idk anything about system d boot
But there has to be something
SOMETHING To autorun this
haha, me neither, but, i dont quite like grub, dont have a specific reason why
Can you send the command that fixes it again?
thing is, this should be autorunned
there should be an option that is messing the pointer of the vdpau driver
Ahem
export VDPAU_DRIVER=radeonsi
I'll find a way to import it into autorun
okay, but that is a, lets tape it into shape kinda approach
i want a, lets understand why that is happening, kind of approach
Okay
create a new file in the /etc/environment.d/
Name it like
Idk
VdpauRun.conf
Done?
Nano/Vim it
VDPAU_DRIVER=radeonsi
Add this in
Save and exit
Reboot to check
@proven zenith
oka
lemme check that
environment d is not a folder
but i guess there is where i put the command

that. is. what i said
.
Yes but it also could have meant it doesn't exist
Anyways what's inside this file?
Hmmmm
Try to add the VDPAU_DRIVER=radeonsi at the bottom
2 returns to put a space in-between
I mean it could fit in there
The qt thing and vdpau thing all format look same
Now reboot
bash
Or fucking fish
XD
Try to add it in .bashrc
Now everytime you run a terminal it should try to add
Or if Gemini was correct
Every boot
ehh, oka
I'm gonna die at school for sure ;-;
why?
ehh, shouldnt you like, go to sleep then?
chill, and, i will have to reboot to test, so, bbs
I did say Reboot
ha.. still not working
gn
i am going crazy
i need help.
now vaapi is dead too
okay, i deleted everything related to that, and vaapi is working again
